Never a good sign when they have to cart you off the field.
What's the next move, who becomes the MLB backup and gets the second helmet with the radio?
Tie between KC and Cincy. At least Detroit finally wised up and got rid of their biggest problem and are admitting they are in full rebuilding mode. Can't say the same about the Bengals, and KC deserves mention for fugging up the Tony Gonzalez trade request.
When they came back after the first outage they had footage of Lindell's first FG and the Chargers first TD, so I would suspect that they had some cameras with batteries, just couldn't transmit to the satellites.
I debated setting it up for multiple picks, but wanted to see who everyone thought the one difference maker was on offense and defense. Maybe I should have added a third category for a second selection on offense or defense.
I'll know better for next time.
Tough to call, since a lot of us missed huge chunks of the game, but let's see what we got on offense and defense.
I went Trent and Mitchell - dude was a beast in the second half.
I'm really encouraged overall by the line's improvement. They are so young and seem to be getting better each and every game, so maybe Trickett really knows what he's doing after all.
Surrency needs to come down with the damn ball on those long jump balls.
Agreed. That was a game we would have lost over the last few years. Gotta use it as a building block.
I thought Fisher called a pretty good game last night, and outside of that 3rd-quarter bomb, the defense was pretty solid. Ponder showed he could make a few throws but needs to cut down on the Chris Rix decision-making.
I'm not on staff at the CPD, I'm a freelancer who contracts for them on a regular basis. Freelancers get no support from the papers we write for - we provide all our own technology, internet access, transportation/mileage, everything.
The idea that San Fran, the same city who has banned plastic shopping bags and water bottles, is being held up as the defining authority on anything, is somewhat amusing.
Newsflash: It's not just the Red Sox fans who think like that. A lot of non-Yankee fans feel the same way.
My favorite teams are the Indians, and whoever is playing the Yanks and Red Sox, and I know a lot of fans that feel the same way. Maybe not as much about the Red Sox yet, but more and more.
That was fantastic. And glad to see karma kicking his butt as well, losing to a MAC team for the first time ever.
I was going to post the same thing but got sidetracked while looking for the buyout/guarantee amount. I still haven't found the exact date, but everything I've read says "three years" from the releases dated Dec. 2007.
Now ESPN is saying that Bowden resigned:
Athletic director Terry Don Phillips said his intent Monday morning was to have a candid heart-to-heart with Bowden about the football team. But Phillips said he was surprised when Bowden offered to resign.
"There wasn't a gun to his head," Phillips said.
"He put it on the table for the sake of the program," Phillips said. "I agreed."
Bowden will be paid through the end of the season, then get $3.5 million as a buyout negotiated in the contract extension the two sides agreed to in December 2007.
Good work if you can get it.
