  1. No, surprisingly. The gloved one was 16/26 for 148 yards in that debacle. He completed 10 to Lynch for 58 yards; 3 completions to Steve Johnson and 1 each to Royal, Parrish and Fine. And of course there were the three completions to Davis, Wimbley and McDonald of the Brownies.
  2. How about the Cleveland game, where over 1/3 of Trent's yards and 63% of his completions were to Lynch?
  3. Texas got hosed by being left out of the Big 12 championship, thanks to the conference's 5th tiebreaker, the BCS standings. (Of course the conf. says they are going to revisit that tiebreaker in the offseason). There's always going to be teams that get hosed and can make a case for inclusion. The idea could be tweaked to add a couple at-large bids and/or make the MAC, Sun Belt, WAC and MWC play-in (or maybe put additional criteria on their inclusion - undefeated record, top-15 ranking, something). Hell, I'd be happy with just having the top 8 teams in the polls in a playoff, but I don't like the idea of some conferences awarding the title based on record while others have that extra game to impact their postseason chances. All I know is the current system does not work and needs to be changed.
  4. IMO the first step has to be making sure all the conferences play a championship game. Decide the winner of the conference on the field, and put all the conference winners into the playoff. No conference championship (or no conference) = tough luck.
  5. I posted my link, which was inaccurate (my mistake was linking from Google and not going straight to the NFL.com site, so I assumed it went to this year's stats and not last year's). I went back and edited both my posts that showed the incorrect information, and even posted that I fugged up. As for how much time - how about somewhere between the approx 1 1/2 minutes you gave me and the 15+ minutes you had before someone called you out on your Hargove mistake (or the one hour, 17 minute-span it took you to correct your mistake) you got to correct your Hargove numbers yesterday? Somewhere in the middle of that time frame would probably work for me. When I fugg up I admit it and correct my mistakes. That's all I was trying to do.
  6. Right, I get my feeling hurt by a message board poster. And I wasn't calling you a dick for "debunking my facts." I was calling you a dick for not giving me a chance to correct the mistake before you starting crowing about it. But I guess I won't ever find any mistakes in any of your posts, right?
  7. Yeah I saw that. But hey - thanks for being a dick while I was checking and editing, though.
  8. Um, dude, check the NFL.com link EDIT: Don't know why the NFL.com site defaulted to the 2007 numbers. My bad.
  9. Fixed, because the Bills have at least a varsity passing game.
  10. Have to work until 1 and will be on a treadmill right after work ends, so I should hopefully get home to see the second half. But since I work at the gym I'll make sure at least one of the TV's is on the game...
  11. Absolutely, the shutout is very troubling. But we ran for 4.6 YPC, so it wasn't just a "we ran a lot" game - we were pretty effective with the run. I just think it's a little impressive that we did rush for 161 and 4.6 YPC against the 10th-ranked defense on a day when the Pats knew we were going to have to run the ball a lot, and we were also without Marshawn. I put that shutout more on the coaching staff that anyone else.
  12. So being in a suburb of Cleveland it's pretty hard to find decent wings, and my wife hasn't always been a fan of making them herself, so we occasionally order from Buffalo Wild Wings. We were going to order some to go along with my wife's homemade pizza on New Year's Day, but I almost fell out of my chair when I saw how expensive they've gotten. 24 wings for $16. 50 for $33. I was telling my father how expensive they've gotten and he pulled out some of his NF pizzeria menus - the most expensive wings he found was 50 for $23 at Frenchy's. Just couldn't believe how expensive BWW had gotten for mediocre wings.
  13. EDIT: I fugged up the numbers by not checking the right link. Disregard my stupidity.
  14. Yep. The old "a rising tide lifts all boats" theory.
  15. I always thought she was "generic pretty blond" girl. Nothing that really got me excited. For some reason I do love Jill's Mercury commercials, though...
  16. I really liked Blade as well. Pretty good show, and also introduced us to the lovely Jill Wagner.
  17. It's this kind of mentality - taking finesse, skill position guys over linemen (OL and DL) that has crippled this team for the last decade. I'd much rather have a pair of solid lines and a crappy QB than a mediocre line and a promising rookie who will be running for his life behind said mediocre line.
  18. Makes sense. I wouldn't want two top-end DE's drafted or signed at the expense of filling another hole, but they do need to have a contingency plan in case AS comes back and is more Chris Kelsay than Aaron Schobel.
  19. We don't know yet if we need one or two. That article was pretty clear that if his rehab and healing haven't progressed by Feb. 1, he could be looking at surgery, another 6+ months of rehab, and a very good chance that a player on the wrong side of 30.
  20. That's true. All we need to know about Dick is in his career W/L columns.
  21. I think you're right, IIRC it was the Pine Ave location that moved to the FOM area. There's a lot of that - pizzerias moving to new locations - that it's sometimes hard to keep up with what's still open or what has moved to a new location. Jaco's used to have a location right across NF Blvd from my parents' house, complete with batting cages, a mini golf course and a game room. Now I think it's a car rental place. Old Greenwalls was just around the corner from my parents' house in the LaSalle area and we used to order from there when we still lived in WNY, which was about 7 years ago or so. No idea if it is still any good but I think it's still open - there were a couple cars in the lot when we drove by after Christmas. I also like John's Pizza and Subs on Grand Island, but they seemed a little pricey last time we got in there.
  22. I'm a NF guy as well, and I used to really like Jaco's and Old Greenwalls pizza. We were in the area for the holidays and I was suprised to see that Honey's now has a third location - the Pine Ave original, the one in front of the Factory Outlet Mall, and now the former JT Wheatfields on NF Blvd has a sign calling it "Honey's of Wheatfield."
  23. Yeah I thought so, but maybe they are trying to push Favre into his "will I/won't I retire" mode early so they can get the soap opera out of the way in time to get a new QB in there. BTW, here's the clip and link from ESPN: "In this league, when you're the head coach or the quarterback and things don't go well, you're going to get a lot of the blame," safety Kerry Rhodes said earlier this week, adding that if Favre chooses to commit to the Jets for his 19th NFL season, he's got to be all in. "If he's dedicated and he wants to come back and do this, and do it the right way ... and be here when we're here in training camp and the minicamps and working out with us ... then I'm fine with it," Rhodes said. "But don't come back if it's going to be half-hearted or he doesn't want to put the time in with us." A veteran Jets player, quoted anonymously by Newsday, described Favre as a "distant" teammate who, when at the Jets' practice facility, spent his down time away from teammates in an office specially designated for him. "There was a lot of resentment in the room about him. He never socialized with us, never went to dinner with anyone," the player told Newsday. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?i...e=ESPNHeadlines
  24. As in how Ralph's decisions are made? Chucking darts at a board with different outcomes? That would explain some of the draft picks in the past...
  25. I thought that too, until I heard that bit about how Favre hid during in a specially-designated office during practice downtime and wanted nothing to do with socializing with his teammates. It seems that some players are a little ticked that Favre didn't seem to be "all in" this season, so I can understand their frustration.
