  1. Probably a little of both at this point. It's gonna be another looooooooooong offseason...
  2. You really have to love the fans who throw around the "bust" label if a draft pick isn't an All-Pro halfway through his rookie season.
  3. I'd say there's a lot of blame to go around for how Jacksonville played this year, but to equate the Jags' struggles with a backup QB who was cut loose before the start of the team's 11-5 season in 2007 is a very tough sell.
  4. Peters is what he is - a little more playing time isn't going to make him a serviceable 3rd liner. Neil would fill a toughness role that the team lacks, but I think there is too much bad blood between the Sabres and Neil to believe that they would want anything to do with him. I don't think I'd like to see Neil in a Buffalo uniform.
  5. Yep. LINK Interesting part of that article (at least to me): There was speculation he might head to the NFL, especially since he has talked about wanting a bigger platform to share his religious message and expand his community work, but Tebow said he never strongly considered leaving early. Coach Urban Meyer set him up with several NFL coaches to talk about his pro prospects. Although Tebow said he got mixed feedback, nothing he heard swayed his decision. "It was tough because some of that stuff is tempting at the next level and everything that goes along with it, especially ending on a great note ending with the national championship and moving on from there," Tebow said. "I love these guys and coach Meyer and this program too much and I feel we can still end on a bang next year."
  6. He's definitely not 3rd-line material. I have no problem with keeping an enforcer on the fourth line, but his fighting has actually regressed as he has tried to work on his hockey skills.
  7. Kaleta has been out with a neck injury since before Christmas, when he was sucker-punched by Denis Gauthier. Peters is an extra forward. He only plays when they know they'll need a goon.
  8. No argument here. Connie's been one of my favs since she played Nikki on Spin City.
  9. Well, once again it's playoff season and we're on the outside looking in. What the hell else are we supposed to talk about?
  10. Kelly also had real throwing mechanics and a live, accurate arm. Tebow? Not so much. I go back to the same thing I said before - I don't question his leadership, toughness, heart, desire or attitude. I do question his skill set as it relates to being an NFL QB. I don't see him as a successful NFL QB unless it's down the line and he's had a chance to work on his throwing and learns to stay in the pocket and go through his reads and progressions without taking off when his first WR is covered, and can prove he can make all the throws. He could probably run over Ellison. In fact I'm sure of it. The others? I doubt it. If (and that's a very big IF) someone drafts him as a QB then he is going to be a long-term project, and needs to go somewhere he can develop at his own pace and not be yanked in and out of the lineup.
  11. The "no sh--" seemed unnecessary, but whatever. I was just pointing out that most are not, and NFL success by Favre, Young or Kordell Stewart doesn't mean crap when it comes to whether Tebow will be a successful NFL QB.
  12. While I don't doubt that there may be more in terms of sheer numbers, the fact that no NFL teams run the option puts a prospective NFL QB from an option offense at a disadvantage right from the start.
  13. We'll have to disagree, then. I don't see elusiveness, I see him having top-flight speed for a college QB, especially for his size, and his opponents at the next level will be bigger and as fast. His arm strength is debateable, but there is no denying that his mechanics are poor and his passes float and quack. As far as QB skills, I think Vick had a stronger arm and better running ability, but also struggled with staying in the pocket and making reads and not taking off running every time his primary read was covered. I also can't get past the offense he plays in and the playmakers he has around him. If he was putting up these kind of numbers in a pro-style offense I'd be more impressed, but the fact is the spread is a gimmick offense. I don't take anything away from his leadership and fire, but leadership and fire alone does not an NFL QB make, and I just don't see the arm and skills that translate into an NFL quarterback.
  14. No kidding. And for every option/gimmick offense QB who made it in the NFL there's probably a dozen more who never sniffed an NFL roster as a QB.
  15. Which skills translate well to the NFL? He's not going to outrun or lower his shoulder and run over LB's in the pros. That little jump pass? Might work once in a blue moon. So what else is there? His QB skills - making all the throws, making all the reads, hanging in the pocket without taking off running - are not good enough for the NFL. He wants to play QB in the NFL but I just don't see it happening.
  16. Miller was fantastic tonight. Stopped 43/44 through OT and was 3-3 in the SO.
  17. Tebow's Not Coming to the NFL: LINK
  18. If he adds 20 lbs he would fit right in with our group of high-motor, high-character DE's....
  19. I really thought I hadn't crossed the line this time. I'm still working on these levels of subtlety when it comes to trash-talking on the Interwebs. Sometimes I just jump right from zero to nuclear. Good thing I didn't add the pirate or the ninja.
  20. While I am an admitted FSU jerkoff, I don't know what stunned me more - the OP that I 'ed at or my name getting pulled in to Gordio's rant. But Ramius is just poking the bear. Waving red in front of the bull. Feeling the flow. Workin' it. Workin' it.
  21. I've heard that. That's the message board equivalent of dropping the A-bomb on a poster, isn't it?
  22. Sometimes it's tough to get the emoticons to really convey your feelings, but I'm glad you picked up on the blinking face's attitude level. I was really hoping it would come off that way. The pirate probably would have been way too much attitude.
  23. I've said in the past (and I think over the last two days) - fantastic college QB, great player in college - not gonna be a good pro QB. Needs to be at some other position. But I guess that qualifies me as an FSU jerkoff.
  24. I'm wondering WTF brought my name into your hysterical rant.
