Well in all fairness, no one in Buffalo has spoken the word "playoffs" with any sincerity in about a decade, so it's not surprising it wasn't on his mind.
-
It was already posted and discussed, but the article on ESPN.com - http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4346612 - bears reposting. To me (an admitted JP fan) it shows that Losman knows this is a huge gamble, but he feels that going into the UFL and playing as opposed to carrying a clipboard and waiting for someone to get hurt/benched is better for his development and shot at getting back into the NFL and having a longer career. He knows he has stuff to work on, he's not playing the blame game, and he is looking forward to working with Fassel on getting better.

Buffalo Fan gets destroyed by comedian

That was awful. Not funny at all. -

Agreed on both counts.

I think IANAL = I Am Not A Lawyer. Either that or a vanity license plate for a porn star. I looked at the PDF Fez linked, and it's good stuff for the most part. The only thing I noticed was that it seems to deal more with where you can and can't shoot and less with what you do with the pictures afterwards. I tried a quick Google search at work but didn't find much on "selling photos taken at a NFL game."
-
Possibly. My memory of the helicopter move is fuzzy - I vaguely remember it but am blanking on the details or setting. I just remember the pogo stick bounce very clearly.

No, DML is right.

Another intersting fact about the perfect game: the home plate umpire has been behind the dish for three no-no's, two of which were by Buehrle. Some umpires can work their entire careers and never find themselves behind the plate for a no-hitter. Eric Cooper has been the plate umpire for three of them, including two by White Sox left-hander Mark Buehrle, who pitched a perfect game Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays . . . . . . How's this for strange? Cooper has been behind the plate for each of Buehrle's last three shutouts -- the perfect game Thursday, the no-hitter April 18, 2007, at U.S. Cellular Field against the Texas Rangers and a 6-0 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 17, 2005, at the Cell. Cooper, 38, also was behind the plate for Boston Red Sox right-hander Hideo Nomo's no-hitter against the Baltimore Orioles on April 6, 2001. http://bases.newsvine.com/_news/2009/07/24...od-draw-of-umps

Haven't seen the policy (and I am a little rusty on these things) but usually the right to take photos at a camp or sporting event is based on the photos being for personal use. Selling the photos would probably require a license or "express, written consent" from the NFL.
-
That's a given, but for me that's not the only thing. As I said, I don't want to speak for others, but as Dean showed, there are others who are of a similar mindset.
-
Agreed, I don't see the Bills pursuing him and that's great, IMO. FWIW, I had something similar at the end of my post but edited it out. Thought the whole thing read a little too whiny/hysterical with it in there, but that's about where I stand. I would go one step further, though - I would stop watching the Bills while Vick was on the team, and the guy(s) who brought him in were still in charge.
-
Thanks for that, Corp. You want to stop by and kick my dog while you're at it?

While I agree that the post you are replying to was over the top, I have to jump in here. No offense, paup, but please don't make generalized statements like this or lump us all together. I am not one bit excited to "see Mike Vick do his thing on the field again." Zip, zero, nada, none. And I am certain there are others who feel like I do, although I won't speak for others.

Someone will have to post the details, but I think the sale of Tops to that Dutch company (Royal Ahold) followed by the scandal of Ahold underreporting its debt and, as a result, overexpanding their market really hurt Tops - along with Wegman's pushing their way into the Buffalo market.

According to the UFL website games will be Thursday and Friday nights. Thursday nights are ESPN college football matchups and in a lot of places Friday night is a big night for HS football, so I don't know how much I will be able to watch, by choice (CFB on Thursday nights) or because of work (HS football on Friday nights).
-
Agreed.
-
No, I get it fine. I'm not a HS kid, and I went into the whole FB thing with caution and skepticism. Am I taking a chance that my info might be breached, stolen, whatever? Sure. But that's a risk that is being taken in ever area of life in 2009 - no matter how hard you try to safeguard your info, someone can always get it somewhere else (unless you go the Unabomber route and drop off the grid completely). I just find your opinion that both FB and MySpace are essentially one and the same, despite not having spent a decent amount of time on either, to be an uninformed opinion and more of a gut feeling. Maybe you're right, but what I'm saying is that I've weighed the pros and cons and tried to enjoy the network responsibly and tried to be as careful as possible. I don't consider this fighting. Just a friendly disagreement.
-
No? Because you're older that means you can draw conclusions about both sites and social networking in general based on one visit to MySpace and none to Facebook? Wow, you're good.
-
That's fine, but again, we're talking about two different things. It wasn't a social networking site that got that girl's nude pics out there - it was cell phones and text messages. It's like blaming PhotoBucket because a teenage girl emailed a friend a nude pic of herself to her friends and it got loose on the Intrawebs. There are a lot of sad, lonely, desperate people offline as well. Those people were out there before computers and the Internet and cell phones came along. The creation, implementation and pervasiveness of that technology doesn't change any of that. I feel like there is a big difference between Facebook and MySpace. I admit I have limited experience with MySpace but unless I am wrong, it seems that MySpace and Facebook are geared toward different age groups, which is a huge difference right off the bat. I do feel like there are more privacy options with Facebook, but I might be wrong. MySpace seems more like the Wild West of social networking, while Facebook seems a little more self contained. Again, these could be uninformed, incorrect opinions, given my lack of familiarity with MS. But I have to ask - how can you form any sort of educated opinion on either site, given that you've admitted that you've looked at MySpace just once and never looked at Facebook? Is this just another "technology sucks, back in my day..." rants?
-
Not exactly the same thing...that girl "sexted" nude pics of herself to her BF's cell phone and he shared them with the rest of the world. The caveat of "once you share your info you have no control over what they do with it" definitely applies, but the story you linked wasn't a Facebook thing. I use FB the same way - my wife and I have moved around a lot in the last 10 years, so it's a great tool to catch up and keep in touch with people from different areas of the country. I do get tired of the same people blasting away with the "so-and-so Poked you" or "so-and-so sent you a gift, click here to see it" crap, but I just block stories and feeds whenever necessary. I agree 100% about Twitter. What a waste of time.

Close but no cigar for the Wolverines

Frank Dinnocenzio, a 1982 graduate of LaSalle High School, led Newburgh Free Academy to the Class AA state boys basketball championship Sunday afternoon. The school his Goldbacks of Section IX beat — Niagara Falls. As a NF native I'm disappointed that they lost, but as a LaSalle grad it makes me smile a little to see the Explorers are still giving NFHS fits. -

He blocked low and never made it anywhere near his knees. That being said - his reaction was way over the top and he should have been ejected. -

[closed]Why Cutler?? Someone help me...

He probably would, but I'd put his regression more on the coaching staff than the talent around him. You haven't been here long, have you? This is TSW, we decide which stats are important on an argument-by-argument basis. The "QB record" stat has been bastardized, used and abused on these boards since the Flutie-RJ debate was in its infancy.
