  1. That would be one heck of a gamble!
  2. You wouldn't be talking about "Great" Dayne by any chance...would you? The biggest thing that scares me about Bush is his reported inability or lack of desire to block.
  3. My thoughts exactly. I would love to see Peterson fall, but I don't think he will. I voted Peterson, but this they will actually draft Willis. They will draft a RB later.
  4. I agree for the right price. He has talent, he just seems to get nicked up. He was never really a Parcells guy, which is why Barber was in the mix. If our choices were to sign Brown or Jones, I'd go with Jones and use a later pick to draft a RB.
  5. Good point, even though I would not be completely happy with the RBs. Don't get me wrong, I like the A-Train re-signing...I'm just not sold on CB. If he signs with the Browns, Peterson could fall (I know this has been beaten to death, but I want to grab a stick too!!). It would put the Bills in a great position no matter what they choose to do (trade down, pick Peterson, or pick someone else).
  6. If that's the case...I apologize. The moves just seem to be a deviation from the normal Pats moves. But, you have to admit, the Seau signing was funny!
  7. I agree, Pittman and Hunt were impressive. I hadn't seen any of their clips before...I'd be happy with either of them!
  8. I agree! If you're going to take someone with baggage, wouldn't it be better to get a true#1 who still has a lot of talent? I think it would've been a better upside than the two guys they signed. And before the response comes from the Pats lover, Donte has #1 talent, but can't stay healthy enough and hasn't had the attitude to be a true #1. With all of Moss's problems, he's still a #1 WR.
  9. First of all, I don't see people bashing every move the Pats have made. If you get someone who can read for you, I said the Thomas move was a good one and I think the Welker move was good. Next, you brought up one of my points when you said "when healthy"...something Stallworth has NOT been in his career. Further, he is now in the substance abuse program, which means on the verge of suspension...that means this is his second infraction. The first is not reported. Washington has been a head case and not productive from the beginning. I would not be happy if the Bills signed either one of these guys...and I'm saying that knowing that Stallworth could come and be a #2 receiver. He's not reliable enough. Lastly, there's probably a Patriots chat you could take part in, since you're a fan.
  10. Kelley Washington being a career underachiever so far (not to mention that he's an attitude problem) and Donte Stallworth being cast of, even though he was on teams that needed WRs (not to mention the substance abuse program). He has talent, but he's injury prone and self-destructive. Yeah, that should work great! I wish the Bills had them...I'd feel much better about the team then!!
  11. That's a fair description...they do seem desperate. The Thomas signing was probably a pretty good one though. The Seau retread was actually funny!
  12. Agreed, but it's nice to speculate on someone with his talent. Even though I hope it happens, I would be really surprised to see him drop to the Bills.
  13. WOW...it seems that the Pats are going for quantity over quality. The only one I like is Welker...and he's at best a #2. All Belichek needs to do now is trade for Pacman and a few Bungals and he'll have the best group of thugs and bad attitudes going. It seems surprising that they would sign so many questionsble characters!
  14. I agree, but I think the money can be spent better than on a career slot receiver. These guys don't necessarily make the jump to #1 or 2 successfully either. It doesn't seem worth the gamble, to me. I'd rather gamble somewhere else.
  15. I think with where the Bills pick in this draft and whose likely to be available, along with who will be available in the later rounds, trading down is not a bad idea. There seems to be a lot of good talent, but not any first round too good to pass on guys...unless Peterson falls!
  16. I wouldn't necessarily hat the signing, but I think the money can be better spent somewhere else. The recieving corps is not the most glaring need at this point.
  17. I agree there's no need to trade up for him. I don't think he's that much better than the next 2 or 3 RBs.
  18. We all know the how much mock drafts mean (next to nothing, even though I read them!), but Pat Kirwan's latest has Peterson slipping to the Bills because of recent signings. This doesn't take into account draft dat moves, but we may not need to give up anything for him. It sure is interesting to think about! If he's there, I don't think you can pass on him...even with other more pressing needs.
  19. That's good...at least there is some stability. I know it's early and you never can predict the draft and who knows what the hell is going to happen but...Pat Kirwan of NFL.com predicted that Peterson might fall to the Bills in his latest mock draft. I know!!! Even before the replies come about mock drafts, but it's nice to think about. His reasoning was the recent RB signings would drop APs value. Nice to think about!
  20. It's easy for them to be this critical when the Bills have yet to sign/pick/trade for a replacement. I do agree the loss on D hurts, but I think 3 picks for WM is a decent deal...especially when he would've been gone after his contract ran out anyway. All the recent indications are that he wouldn't re-sign with the Bills. I disagee with them completely about who got the better of the deal!
  21. More power to him if he got that kind of money. You're right, I'm glad the Bills didn't pay it because there are more glaring needs elsewhere. I just hope they have solid plans on a suitable replacement!
  22. Don't confuse super productive for touchdowns. Yes, he has scored double digit TDs the last couple years, but he has a total of 1500 yards rushing the last 2 years combined. He is nothing more than a short yardage back now. He no longer can carry the entire load (see the Patriots the last 2 years). I would be ok signing him as a complimentary back, but that's it. So, yes he is over the hill...maybe not done, but over the hill.
  23. I concur that we got a pretty good deal for him...I just have to have faith that we have ulterior motives and didn't just make this on a whim. Our choices now (barring a trade of course), are pretty slim.
  24. That is a very intriguing idea. I think you would have to hope that there is someone they really want to move up for, though.
