I don't see us winning without a decided advantage in special teams play. (Along with all the other things to worry about.) No long returns for the Asterisks (esp. by a backup OG), and lots of field flipping punts and returns on our end. Given the way Moorman has been punting lately, I am not optimistic about that part of the game.

Football is a hard game on a person, no doubt. But some of this stuff is preventable, as you guys point out. Think, people, think. Good point about Kelso: send him an email through the Bills.

When did Byrd become a good run defender? Last week he did well and there he is again.

One constant theme from FitzBeard has been that he trusts his receivers to make plays. Unlike his nearly forgotten predecessor, who would rather run out of bounds on 4th down.

That they didn't just fire him ticks me off: he could have ended that guy's career. Even though the victim was a Dolphin, I don't like that kind of play. Hard to believe, but the Jets are becoming a bigger joke.

One of the interesting things from yesterday is the commitment to the run, both in FJ's impressive play to close the game out, but also in play calling on 1st down throughout. The Bills ran plays on 26 1st downs, per NFL.com play by play. 22 of these were runs by RBs, and 1 of these was an end around by WR Jones. 3 were runs by Fitz, and I don't know if they were designed runs or passes, or a hybrid 'if nothing's there, take off' situation. Only 1 pass was thrown on 1st down. kj
