  1. Fitz has never been all that. But a year ago he was serviceable and then some (at least occasionally). He has regressed. Clearly, the Plan A isn't there, but I think that it was a good plan, poorly implemented: beef up the D to lower the scores and pressure on the O (which never happened obviously). Beef up the O line and take pressure off the QB with a running game and a line that could, well, handle pressure (which was what happened until the injuries). And turn Fitz into the caretaker role, which is his ceiling anyway. So the D thing didn't work out. Still flummoxed there. The O line thing did and then it didn't. Which can be attributed to injuries. But Fitz isn't even up to being a caretaker right now. He is underperforming my low-to-middling expectations for him. And I don't know why that is. But he is not the same quarterback he was last year. kj
  2. Washington needs to replace their kicker. We have two. The new guy might not be as dependable, but what is a missed field goal at this point? (And yeah, I am not seeing a turnaround for this team, and don't think a team that gives up 90+ points in two games has earned much in the way of hope.) Lindell is going to get Moormaned soon anyway. Let's just accelerate the process. What does Washington have? Doubt they would depart with their rookie QB (Cousins). kj
  3. I brought this up once before, but they remind me of the movie "Ishtar".
  4. Give us an opium field and we're the cast from wizard of oz
  5. Another FACT ( why the all caps man?): the D could have held the niners to 45 yds and a pair of FGs and still lost. They suck on both sides of the ball.
  6. I saw a prediction a few days ago that had the final score 40 something to 10. And I almost got upset at the disrespect! The season is over. And that is no exaggeration. Fitzgerald will not suddenly learn how to throw. Wanny will not suddenly learn that schemes matter in ths league. The team will not miraculously discover a leader. It's over. kj
  7. Summary stats so far: SF offensive yards: 138 yds Bills offensive yards: 10 yds McKelvin: 87 YARDS!! kj
  8. Right now, Leodis is the only thing standing between the Bills and Geno Smith. Cut him!
  9. He's ground up and in Mario's freezer!
  10. A corolarry to some of the comments above: How does Megatron look with Fitz throwing him the ball? kj
  11. I still say that was a late hit. The war had been whistled dead before he even launched his attack. kj
  12. Okay this made me laugh and hard. Great therapy after Sunday's beat down.
  13. I think he meant that one of the owners would become president of the team, not that one of the owners would be the current president of the US.
  14. Oh man, flashing back to the Bills-Giants Super Bowl now. Hate upon hate, wound upon wound. kj
  15. "Ishtar" came to mind for some reason. kj
  16. Diagnosed with treatable leukemia, stepping away for at least a month. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/20422547/colts-coach-chuck-pagano-diagnosed-with-treatable-leukemia-will-miss-several-weeks
  17. And he comes up really small against the division: 26 picks in 12 games, to 23 TDs. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/10/1/3434932/buffalo-bills-turnovers-ryan-fitzpatrick-afc-east
  18. He misses throws that no QB should miss. Repeatedly misses them. The underthrow to Graham and missing SJ badly on third and long that would have converted are two that stand out. Yes, he threads the needle, too, esp. to the TE. But really, he is a problem and a limitation for this team. (Yes the D sucks. They are a problem too. No point in choosing really.) kj
  19. There is no defensive gameplan. Expecting your front four to get pressure consistently is not a gameplan. It is a refusal to gameplan. It's sandlot football that clearly doesn't work in today's league. kj
  20. Start looking over coaches' resumes, that's what. I know it's early in the season, and you're supposed to have faith in your team, and let Darryl Talley's inspiration guide us. But that really feels like blather today. Nothing I have seen says that this team is capable of playing winning football against good teams. The problems are plain to see: a QB who can't make the throws, a DC who apparently doesn't believe in game planning or adjusting, a lack if talent at too many positions, and an unwavering capacity to come up small. We are a team going nowhere. Again. And I am starting to think they will have to blow up the coaching staff in a couple if months, leaving us where exactly? kj
  21. Per CBS and SI http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/football/nfl/09/27/nfl-referees-settlement.ap/index.html?sct=nfl_t11_a0
  22. Per the link those are official NFL stats. The numbers are the league's.
  23. Thanks for this memory, and others: http://www.nfl.com/v...ay-Sneaky-Bills kj PS: that is the fake FG-throw to Denney from 08. How do you embed videos here?
  24. I didn't know they kept these kind of stats, and wonder about their validity. But there is no doubt that this team is run blocking well. According to this, runs behind Cordy Glenn are averaging nearly 9 yards a carry! (Why call any other play?) That is just so cool to read that about a Buffalo Bill after so many years of mediocrity and worse at the OL, esp. LT. http://wgr550.com/two-bills-drive/14320478 kj
