  1. That play by Moulds on the underthrown near interception was amazing! At 2:20-ish.
  2. Well he's no punt catcher, that's for sure. kj
  3. I still don't see it. If it is a duplicate feel free to delete.
  4. This was an interesting read: "There is no doubt that the Buffalo offense right now is being held back by the quarterback, and performances like this make me wish we could see Johnson with a legitimate passer feeding him the ball." (That quote is not the most interesting part, but I wonder what SJ could do in a decent offense. He's closing in on 1000 yds. Again.) The piece suggests some downsides to SJ's freedom to improvise, too. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/12/19/analysis-notebook-week-15-2/ kj
  5. You left out the most important element: their ability to recognize sarcasm.
  6. Peter King says no one is moving to LA soon, per league requirements. A team wanting to move will have to demonstrate 3 things: market failure in current market; a new stadium deal in place; and an interim stadium deal for 2013. No one is close to meeting these requirements. The league wants an orderly evacuation from whichever city wants to flee. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/news/20121217/week-15/?sct=uk_t11_a3 kj
  7. In today's NFL, 12 13 years without playoffs is a really hard thing to accomplish. Maybe someone could compare it to the Cubs streak was in baseball in terms of how hard it is to do; maybe not that hard but it's difficult to exhibit that level of prolonged rot. The NFL today is set up to churn the standings year to year. Yeah, a few teams are always there, but the league works to make it possible for teams to get close or reach the playoffs. The draft order, supplementary picks, the salary cap, and the way non-division teams are matched up by the previous season's record all make it easier for a team to pick itself off the bottom and climb the rungs to respectability. But not the Bills. We really got something going on here. My point is that between blind-squirrel luck and the league's pursuit of parity, we should have been able to have some success, at some point. So yeah, it is rock bottom for me. kj
  8. At the 2, it's M Allen. Anywhere else on the field, it's Earl Campbell. Cuz he would run through every body on the field, some twice. The carnage would be awesome.
  9. I don't think we should judge a coach by his performance in the face of the media. This criticism of coaches has always bothered me. I don't care whether the coach is telegenic or a good interview. You know who else gives crappy pressers? Bill Belich****. Crennel in KC always talks good to the press. Crappy coach though. That said, the benchmark that matters shows that Chan is over his head. He can't win games, and his coaching is losing us games. I'm ready for him to be done. His performance in the press conference has no bearing on the W-L record, so I don't care about that. But I do want him gone. kj
  10. Isn't this like saying, "They found a way to win, and then they did it!" Those bastards. The gentlemanly thing to do would be to mix in a play that they knew wouldn't work. The decline of civilization is nearly complete. Thank the Mayan gods that our nightmare is nearly over. Maybe it's not that Chan isn't a good coach. Maybe he is too much of a gentleman to continually run the ball when it is working. I feel better. kj
  11. "Buffalo Bills: Jarius Byrd was already one of the elite safeties in the league, but in 2012 he has been even better. He had an interception on one in every 11 balls thrown his way, and this year he has intercepted an astounding one in every three passes thrown his way." So with that int rate, how do we get the other teams to throw more in his direction? And is that a meaningful stat? As a FS, are passes really "thrown his way"? Anyway, he's a keeper. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/12/05/32-observations-week-13/
  12. I don't want an app to access content that is free. There is no added functionality I want that justifies that, I just want to watch a few seconds of video.
  13. Does this put more pressure on re-signing Levitre?
  14. Because I don't want to install an app on the phone to watch one video
  15. I wanted to watch the highlights on my phone. NFL.com makes them available shortly after the game. But on a phone they want you to install an app and won't just let it play like you can on a pc. That kind of thing just makes me grumpy.
  16. OTHER WORLDLY is probably a good description of his game. All caps are appropriate here too. kj

  18. 1. Go into the vault in the back, the secret one behind the wet bar--stop and grab a scotch on the way to steel my nerves--and pull out the spygate tapes. You know they're in there. 2. Get another scotch. 3. Upload the tapes to YouTube. 4. Have the staff ship some scotch to my house, cuz I am not going to make it to noon on my first and only day on the job.
  19. Where did the nickname Meathead come from anyway?
  20. I didn't think marlins attendance was bad this year. But it will be next. Florida fans know better than to trust that team's owner. I would not give him a dime to watch a game either.
  21. It would be a misleading 8-8, though. Who would we have beaten: Chiefs, Browns, Cards are all bad. The Dolphins win surprised me, honestly, because they seemed to be surging. That would mean four out of 5 wins in games against the Jags, Rams, Seahawks, 'phins, and Jets. Jets are spiraling out of control and the Jags are either the worst or second worst team in the league. Only the Seahawks approach being a quality team there, although the suspensions may help us. We had an easy schedule this year. Especially the second half. We should be sitting at .500 and making our own surge to the playoffs. Instead, we aspire to mediocrity this year and look forward to blowing this thing up so we can revert to 4-12 next. kj
  22. Leodis is the answer this week. What was the question?
  23. More goodness on the Jets badness: http://www.cbssports...rrassing-season Could that be true? Updating: Google says yes.
  24. Looking back in time (which is a Bills fan's only respite from the gloom), I think we want CJ/FJ to equal Thurman/Kenny Davis. In terms of ratio of carries, if not precise roles.
