  1. Because we are Bills fans and blind hope and irrational optimism only goes so far. And when hope for imminent success has run its course (takes about 2 weeks, at least when there is a bye), then we turn to the familiar, bitter taste of past failure. It's what we do. kj
  2. (You have definitely piqued this smiley's interest.)
  3. Vernon Davis needs to grow (another) pair!
  4. Something new (to me anyway) from the linked text, not the video: That won't work in his favor at all. kj
  5. I don't remember New England resting player ever.
  6. That's a reason. I wouldn't call it valid, though. More of a rationalization. Intent doesn't matter. Big fine and/or suspension and he will intend to be away from the play for the rest of his coaching career. Can't have someone other than the 22 players impacting the game in this way. No gray area for me. kj
  7. Isn't this just a roster move so they can get another body on the active roster? It doesn't really mean much in terms of resolving the situation, accept to acknowledge that he won't be back on the field this year.
  8. I heard Wings was Don Shula's idea, too.
  9. From a cannon, I hope. kj
  10. Good points: The penalty for this kind of cheating shouldn't restore the situation that would have happened if the cheating hadn't occurred, it should be a penalty that is large enough to ensure that it never happens. So walk off the penalty, and Tomlin will be 8 feet back of the white line for the rest of his career. (Also why Belichick should have been suspended for a season for his cheating ways: it isn't about undoing any advantage gained, it's about making sure no one thinks about doing that.) kj
  11. I don't know how the official who had to dodge Tomlin doesn't throw a flag there. But imagine if Tomlin had contacted the official. That would have been fun. BS play: either he intentionally got in the way (my reading), or he forgot he was on the sidelines of a football game where large men are running around at full speed just a few feet away. Neither of these options say anything good about Tomlin, and no other reading is possible, IMO. There is no way to argue he had a legitimate reason to end up on the inside edge of the white stripe while play was approaching. I think a suspension is warranted, but imagine it will be a fine. I just hope it is a big one. kj
  12. Does Rogers Media gazillion dollar (Canadian) deal for NHL TV rights have any impact on the Bills' future over the next 5 years?
  13. Thanks. And yikes. kj
  14. So it was your fault?
  15. What is the environment for public subsidies of stadia in Canada?
  16. I'm thinking ajzepp is going to be a wanted man here soon. Wait, wasn't that a Bon Jovi song? kj
  17. I was conceding that point, but just pointing out that there were still other ways that the Packer model wouldn't be acceptable to the other owners. kj
  18. Ok, but the Packers can never move. That is different. And they can also never be sold. When teams are sold, the league owners benefit.
  19. IMO, you answered your own question. The league owners benefit when franchises are sold, and when they can't move, it limits the sale price. 2 strikes against the Green Bay model. kj
  20. And they examine the deal so that the primary owner can't be too heavily leveraged. So the lion's share has to be cash.
  21. We should get an upgrade on the groupies, at any rate.
  22. Revenge of the hair bands, I like it.
  23. This seems to make sense, from Buffalo Rumblings: http://www.buffaloru...oting-interests Ravens over Jets (we are further behind the Jets in overall standings than the Ravens) Car over Mia Chiefs over SD (we aren't catching KC, and SD is still in the mix technically) Browns over Steelers (could go either way, but we need one of them to fade and Pitt is less likely to do so I guess) Tenn over Oak (getting into the weeds now) Cards over Ind (helps on the strength of sched tiebreakers) P*ts over Broncos (this one I disagree with, but they are saying strength of schedule) Jags over Texans Bucs over Lions Vikes/Packers, Bears/Rams, Dal/NY, 49ers/DC don't really matter. Edit: It took me 6 minutes to transcribe, so technically I beat Big C! kj
  24. This thread is making me nervous.
  25. Yesterday marked the 1-year anniversary of the Butt Fumble. We all need a good laugh, and as Bills fans, opportunities to poke fun of other teams' misfortune and incompetence are too rare. http://www.cbssports...ear-anniversary kj Edit: I can't spell anniversary, and I can't edit the topic heading.
