Mike Pettine speculation-interviewing w Cleveland
l< j replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Okay, I wouldn't worry too much yet. The Browns just lined up another coach for an interview and the owner released a letter yesterday telling fans to be patient, that they were going to be very deliberate and thorough. I very much doubt that any decision has been made. -

Where is this coming from? Cleveland Plain Dealer doesn't have this, saying the Browns are bringing in a Dallas coach for an interview next. kj -
Nice.

Best NFL coach the last 25 years...
l< j replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Belichick is a great coach, deserving of a place on a short list with the Shulas, Walshes, etc. Which is what makes his cheating all the more galling to me. Like Arod and Bonds, these are guys who didn't need to cheat to achieve greatness and did anyway. Walsh didn't cheat. Shula didn't. Jimmy Johnson jumped on cereal boxes, but he didn't cheat. * -
Any success he has makes him look brilliant in his next interview: look what I did with a jerk owner and prima donna QB. Any failures he can blame on Snyder or RG3: look, I did what I could with a jerk owner and a prima donna QB. kj

So he still hasn't hit his growth spurt yet? kj

They got swept by the Buffalo Bills, for god sakes. Someone had to go. kj

I went with Tuel for -6. It was at that point that the season started to die for me. And for the positive, the Mario strip sack. That image, that game from Mario, still makes me smile. We owned Miami this year. How cool was that? kj

NFL Rules That Are Nothing Short of Contradictory ?
l< j replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think many complaints about poor officiating are probably misdirected complaints about an overly complicated rule book. (Complaints about Patri*ts getting calls are perfectly directed, however.) kj -
Bills to meet with Rogers Communications

And the Bills were losing too many games. Might be a correlation there. -
Was Stevie's move to the slot a complete failure?
l< j replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
SJ is an unconventional WR, and I think his multiple moves confused EJ. They had no time to get used to each other due to injuries, and Stevie takes getting used to. (For QBs and fans.) Stevie and Fitz (and Gailey) had it down, but it took a lot of practice sessions to get there. kj -
The one celebrating a Bills playoff win.

Buffalo Rumblings has finished their assessment of EJ's strengths and weaknesses, based on all-22 study. Exhaustive is a good word here. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-re-watch/2013/12/27/5240096/ej-manuel-scouting-report-analysis-pocket-play-accuracy I posted a link in a thread earlier when they had just the galleries but now they have the narrative too.

Does Fred Jackson merit wall of fame?
l< j replied to Original Byrd Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heck yeah. -
As an Ohioan, I have to strongly agree here. We are paying money so an out of state production company can come set up shop here for a few months, maybe 6, and then go home. Doesn't add up. Just allows the state government to say it is doing something to create jobs, when this tax credit does next to nothing. kj

Rosenthal bold face lies about EJ in an NFL.com…

I think he was describing the font used. Apparently the typographic emphasis made the statement worse. kj -
What is your EJ Manuel Confidence Level?
l< j replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I posted this in the All-22 thread, but it might be better here: Buffalo Rumblings has put up 4 galleries of All-22 stuff, all on different aspects of EJ's play over the season. Who's the 2nd RB, since you have elsewhere consigned Fred to the scrap heap? You sounded so confident in that other thread, too. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/164565-fred-jacksons-last-game-at-the-ralph/

Do the Pats's care about next week?
l< j replied to Jerry Jone's Toupee's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This seems definitive: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24385378/afc-scenarios-for-week-17 A win and they are 1 of the top 2 seeds, get a bye. kj -
Yesterdays win and what it may mean
l< j replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree it doesn't mean everything. But it does mean that WE OWN MIAMI. (Shouting in general, not at Leelee.) I realize we are playing for pride again, and we deserve more. But, in the pride bowl we are hoisting the trophy. Against Miami. The hated 'phins. That is worth something. I agree that we need to keep the win in perspective. The proper perspective isn't that a moral victory=a playoff victory. Nor is it that a quality beatdown of the Dolphins who were playing for the postseason is meaningless. Somewhere in the middle. And yeah, a win next week would mean a lot more. Last time we finished with a .500 or better divisional record? Last time we swept an AFC East opponent? I think both of those were 2007. Last time we had 7 sacks in a game? Last time we held an opponent to 14 yards rushing? Last time we had 4 or fewer penalties in a game, and where penalties didn't have a big negative impact on our game? Last time we shut out an opponent? Last time we beat the snot out of an opponent thoroughly? Last time we could say that WE OWN MIAMI? Say it with me again: WE OWN MIAMI. That's not meaningless. kj -
He did it, paid the price, learned his lesson (hopefully), and it didn't hurt our playoff chances or cause the team a loss. Next time, when it matters more and could really have team repercussions, he won't.

Nice observation!
