  1. I'll take 13-3 over 9-7 any day of the week. Everyone says Lovie Smith was coach of the year. Well his Bears team had no offense and was knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Anyways, you've got your mind made up, but you have no control over this. See what happens over the next year and then make your mind up then.
  2. While I acknowledge the fact that Marv inherited some nice young talent, I'd like to think he also played a major role in molding that team into what it was. I know this isn't a popular move, and I was hoping for Sherman myself, but I will at least give Ralph Wilson and Marv the benefit of some time to see if this was a good hire. I at least like the fact that our hire has some head coaching experience this time around. I really hope the rumors are true about Capers and Caldwell possibly coming on board as coordinators. I think Sherman would have been more difficult in wanting his own guys.
  3. If I remember correctly Marv Levy was a retread coach who was fired by Kansas City Chiefs and was not a big name. In my estimation, and it took a couple years, he turned out to be a pretty good hire and the rest is history. Not saying Dick Jauron is the 2nd coming of Marv Level, Bill Parcells or anyone, but let's see what the guy is about with the same talent (and hopefully better next year) then what Mularkey had, and then make our doomed predictions. I heard alot about the guy as a coordinator when I lived in Jax, and he was very well respected by his players. In Chicago, he had mixed results. You can't judge him on detroit as that organization is just a plain disaster. ' He is on board with the Bills, so let's get behind him, and hopefully some pretty good coordinators, and see what this team can do with a veteran head coach. Go Bills. P.S. With all the b1tching and moaning by some of these "Bills Fans", and what idiots Marv and Ralph are, and we are doomed to failure, it's almost getting embarrasing to be lumped in the same group.
  4. Well, then you have a right to go ou and spend 600 million dollars, buy your own team, and make the decisions you feel are not "horsesh--". It's his team, and he does with it what he thinks is right. All I'm saying is enjoy the fact we have a football team to root for, and enjoy life instead of being so pessimistic that we are doomed to a crappy product on the field. I don't think Marv Levy is coming back to tarnish his reputation by building a losing franchise. There are worse things to be upset over.
  5. For some of the folks who are referring to Ralph Wilson as an idiot, and old and senile, and screwing the Bills up, you should be ashamed of yourselves. That guy could have taken this team away from Buffalo so long ago it's not even funny. While I agree that Tom Donahoe needed to be held accountable and was rightly fired for what he has put out on the field, I was sort of teetering as to whether we need to completely rebuild or not and whether Mularkey was a bust or not. My hope is that MM will make a dramatic improvement and learn from the mistakes he made. I also hope he will bring in some experienced coordinators to help with the game day adjustments that obviously were sub-par this year. How many coaches get canned early and go on to very good head coaches elsewhere. Everyone last year was saying what a great job Mularkey did. He bombed this year. Why don't we see what year three under a different philosophy does and then we'll know, and if he still shows that this year was no fluke then you make a change in the coach. As far as for Marv Levy, I really don't see a more qualified person out there to be a General Manager for the Buffalo Bills and I would love for him to come back. Marv Levy HAS General Managing experience for a CFL team, and I believe possibly was in the front office for a USFL team. He was a HOF head coach, has been a commentator for the television stations for many years, he is noted for his brilliance, and the guy just flat out knows how to deal with people, and loves the city of Buffalo and this football team. What better combination. He's got Modrak to help with the scouting, and Brandon and Overdorf to help with the financials. I want a guy who can bring it all together, not for who is "a highly regarded evaluator of talent". Isn't that who was just let go. We've seen where that has taken us. As far as Mike Mularkey being a lame duck coach with Marv brough in, I'm not so sure. Marv was quoted in the AP as recently as a month ago in thinking very highly of Mike Mularkey. I have a feeling the two could hit it off and Marv can be a mentor, something that Tom Donahoe could never offer to Mike. Am I a Mike Mularkey fan. Not really, as I thought he did a crappy job this year. I do like the fact he stood up to Eric, but didn't like the way he caved to the veterans and tried to save his job with Holcumb, but everyone makes mistakes and if we all forget he is in his 2nd year as well. If we think JP can get immensely better (and I do), we have to hopefully think that of a coach as well (they are human after all). Why don't we appreciate the fact that Ralph recognizes that there was a problem, and is doing what he thinks is right to (in his own words) "Give the fans of Buffalo a better product". He isn't doing it to make more money, as the stadium has been filled up. He wants Buffalo fans to have something to be proud of, and he is doing what he thinks is right. Give him a chance, instead of being "Chicken Little" and acting like everything he is doing is going to doom us all to hell. It's a game for goodness sakes. Anyhoo, give it time, appreciate the fact they are trying to make changes (supposedly for the better) and let's have some hope that things will get better. We've got some talent on this team whether some of you believe it or not. GO BILLS in 2006. Can't wait for TKO to pull out his list!!!!!!
  6. On one hand, I very much believe that Mike Mularkey having KH start and play the whole game was self-serving in that we wanted a win to save his job and give the team a good feeling heading into the off season. This is based on the fact that he does not know if he is coming back or not. On the other hand, even if TD is gone, but MM has been told by Ralph that he has another shot, he is keeping JP out as a signal to his young QB that he is not going to be given anything and if he wants the job as QB next year he has to come in and earn it. Either way, I think it is the wrong way. You drafted the kid, and got rid of DB, so let the kid take his lumps like Eli did last year, and see if he progresses with the game experience. I really respect Coughlin's attitude in looking at what is best for the franchise in the long run and telling his veterans too bad and so sad last year when he pulled the plug on Warner. I lost alot of respect for Mularkey this year in the way he handled JP. Hopefully, JP comes in with a chip on his shoulder next year and doesn't give the coach an opportunity to throw him under the bus. Anyways, long year. Let's hope the new regime, whether MM is involved in or not does a heck of alot better than the old regime. Go BILLS.....
  7. Gets Willis out of the brutal cold he can't stand, and back to his beloved Miami, plus we get a pretty decent workhorse of a back to use for a couple years until we get our next Thurman, and the Fins have already paid the bonus on him. Only problem is Ricky will not be too happy that the "grass" doesn't grown up in Buffalo for 6 monhts out of the year. Far fetched, but figured it be fun to throw it out to everyone to have a little fun with. GO BILLS>
  8. AMEN 2 what you said about counting your blessings. There are so may people worse off than what we are, it's not even funny. Prayers definitely go out to Tony Dungy. Class act who unfortunately will not be able to enjoy this year, even if they do win the Super Bowl. Some things just transcend beyond sports, no matter how important we think football is.
  9. HEY CL. It's actually about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta. My brother lives over near Hilton Head. Had to change my signon. I used to sign on as BilzFaninGA and post all the time, but for somereason it does not work anymore when I register. I mostly just read nowadays anyhow, due to the bickering that used to go on, but hopefully that has died down. It was nice to see a win 2day, even though it cost us a few draft spots. HAVE A GREAT XMAS and NEW YEAR.
  10. Geez, I wonder where Cincinatti would be had they traded Carson Palmer. Guyz, I know it's nice to win a game, but come on. The Bengals defense is nothing to write home about, and our offense put up only 23 points (with about 14 of them based off of great field position from our incredible special teams returns. We had 1 TD off a return and another defensive TD. No, we don't need to trade JP. We need to get an offensive line (as once again we average a whopping 3.2 yards a carry), and allowed 4 sacks to a team that is second to last in the NFL in sacking the QB. QB is not our problem. It is actually a strength, but you don't give up on JP. It's amazing what 1 win will do to some people's outlooks. It's nice to win, but we are not even close to being able to compete with the big boys yet. How many times could we not ever GET 1 DAMNED YARD to score a TD. Don't get 2 excited over this.
  11. It's nice to have a Sunday that actually ends on a good night. WOOOOO F'IN HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
  12. I know alot of differing opinions, but like the announcers said on the radio about Carson, the light bulb just comes on, but you have to be on the field for the switch to be flipped. I hope 2 see JP next week and the same effort from all facets of our team and crush the JETS. He needs the looks. I do like Kelly as a backup though, and hope he is here for the next few years. BY THE WAY... any1 here Alex Van Pelt on the radio broadcast. He about jumped out the booth and screamed when Terrance made than last interception. Go BILLS>
  13. Looks like Mularkey finally came into a game focused for the long haul, and is intent on showing Ralph that he is capable of rallying the troops and has not lost this team. I think the way Jerry Grey's defense responds in these last few minutes is going to go a long way in determining whether he is let go by Buffalo or not. Wish these guys could get their heads out of their collective ar$es a long time ago and at least let us have a respectable year. Even though I wouldn't be disappointed to lose this game (cuz of the draft pick), I'd like to see us make a statement for next year as well that there is something to look forward to.
  14. It just seems like our guys don't seem to know what to do or how to execute the plays the way that the better teams in the league do. Just today.... We have multiple penalites while we are in the red zone to stall drives. 3rd and 25 and Holcolmb uses a timeout to gameplan a play that gains 3 yards. We could have used that timeout later in the half on our 2 minute drive. I don't know if it is coaching, or we just have some dumb a$$ players, or a combination of both. I think that is the biggest difference between this team and the team's of the 90's. Those teams just did not shoot themselves in the foot time after time. I haven't been this frustrated as a Bills Fan in a long time either. It's going to be a long off season.
