List here the Bills player most like "Eastbound and Down's" Kenny Powers? My vote is for Marshawn Lynch!

We get VERY creative ( won't happen) and redesign the , semi-successful , "Wildcat" and call it the " Stampede" and have two QB's on the field going no-huddle. One can throw ( at least better than Vick) and one can run ( at least better than TE.) Lynch or Jackson back there also. Evans & Owens out wide. Throw that formation in there from time to time.

Sorry, you caught me! I should have advised he look up; "cretaed." Black is obviously the correct word!

A good response and you bring good points to consider; however. -Ralph made his money in the insurance business! A business that is built on actuary tables. Do you think he honestly doesn't know his odds of living season to season at this point in his life! Every day is a gift. -Value is in the eye of the beholder. Wouldn't a new owner rate and or consider a team a better buy when he can put his own selections in to run it! Look at Jerry Jones when he bought the Cowboys. That kind of owner is who will be buying the Bills, sorry to say. ( Sorry again Jimbo.) - He doesn't need anymore overpaid and hyped players. I made that point. Ralph is a good businessman, not a genius. Everyone keep in mind, this is capitalism. It's his team, his investment, his money. No one needs to or can predict how much of his money is too much to pass onto his families. ( At least for the time being.) We do have the option of buying or not buying tickets, merchandise, etc. as was well pointed out a few posts back. He has made it through non sell-out seasons before. How much can he afford to suffer this again? He's checking his actuary tables on that one also

Get yourself a dictionary and look up how to spell - blank!

Since " Meet The Bills Night" at the Thruway Plaza 1960, (waaaaay before it was made into a mall.) I still wish I had had that little autographed football w/ Richie Lucas autograph on it, the first of our many "brilliant" 1st round choices! I rag on them , but despite my earlier pessimistic entry on this forum will still follow and support to the bitter end.

Really now, how many of you posters and readers out there would , in selling your old reliable family van, willing replace the 100K+ mileage engine in it just prior to selling it to someone at actual blue book value. A cost completely coming out of your pocket, not to be replaced by a higher sale price. What has value to you does not necessarily mean value to a buyer. Especially if the vehicle is to be sold only after your death and actually, the current engine is running and working well enough to get you around in your last days. May or may not be a good analogy ,but the facts we have to face: -Ralph is not an "up & coming" young multimillionaire, sorry, he is only in "think of his family's financial legacy" mode -He has stated , unequivically, that this team is for sale on his death. Noone in his family wants, needs, or because of current tax laws ,can keep after his death, but they do want the money the sale will generate! -This team is moving , post-ralph. ( Sorry Jimbo , I wish you were right, but even that doesn't change the basic facts.) -Noone is going to turn down the purchase of this team because Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan isn't the coach, nor will they pay more because of it! -controlling his overhead now results in the greater profit for his family on selling the team later. -If you were he, whcih would be the legacy you left your loved ones; Old Poppy finally won a Superbowl ( or even a play-off game) in that city he had his team in but had to blow most of our inheritance (post inheritance tax) on buying out salaries, paying big bucks to "designer level" coaches and staff and fat salaries to already over paid ( "I'm Ko Simpson and I'm worth millions" ) and hyped players. Gee, it had worked so well in Dallas and Washington! or Thanks for making this investment worth so much for us, let the next owner spend the "big bucks" to build a winner, we got the maximum return on his investment. Face the facts, the next owner can make the investment, Ralph is done! Accept the position we are in in the final year(s) of this once proud franchise and enjoy as much as you can, DJ is here until he's packing footballs into moving boxes. Raph's family will laugh all the way to the bank.

Stay at a Holiday Inn and then reread the post.... its a BRAIN injury, please. And yes, it does control and promote the various chemical flows that enable us to put one foot in front of the other on a daily basis.

Here are my predictions for this week's game against the Broncos: And I'll win the GA Mega Game the following Tuesday.... yea , right In classic " circle the wagons" style: - DJ has GH start in place of JP. (That move alone may be DJ's most brilliant move this season , again those lottery odds.) Not alot of regular season game film on him, so Denver has a hard time defensive planning. We also have an inspired rookie SJ, who after his first NFL td and a desire to surpass a highly touted draft pick has a career day ( will actually win the FedEx Air player of the week.) -Inspired by his unbelievable pick to the pro-bowl for a second consecutive year and the agreements in his , "OK I'll be a big man and honor my contract for another year- now that all the hard work is done for this year- Ill show up", Jason Peters will actually return to his previous year's abilities and become a human plow for ML who will also have his highest rushing attempts and yards for the year. -DJ will spend most of the time on the sidelines staring into space, trying to remember if he signed that darned "what ya call"- extension (?) not get emotionally involved , thereby removing the potential for stupid game day decisions. Ralph will be asking the attendees in his suite if they saw last week's fumble? -GH thinking "hmmmm, European MVP- NFL MVP, nice bookend ring to that one and a new QB controversy to boot, maybe I can get a big extension for a flash in the pan performance." Bills 31... Broncos 14 Winning lotto number 22 23 27 39 45 -28

Thank you, it's the concussion, it's always been the concussion. Seriously now, a pull of a muscle or a BRUISE to the brain? Which do you think will be more aggravating during high stress times making split second decisions, which will affect/effect this throwing and game play more. I'm also sick and tired of the SD & KS game retorts. Without a BRAIN BRUISE you have good days and bad days based on internal chemical flows, psyche, outside direction or complete lack thereof, etc., etc. Now throw in a BRAIN BRUISE in the mix. Get a solid bruise on your arm or leg, it may be gone in a week or two, but it's still tender, now pretend its your BRAIN!!! Put him on IR.
-
Then it seems a concensus, put him on IR, he can only feel better, the "groin" and concussion injuries/arguments go away by next season, we can't get any worse than JP, why give him reps ???? he's gone in 3 games NO MATTER WHAT, get GH in there to see what he can do, if he leads for more than 3 points / game we have a whole new QB controversy. Unless that's what all you guys are really afraid of!
-
Get it over with already, TE has yet to completely recover from his Arizona game concussion. Place him on IR, let him rest, concussions can take up to 6 months to fully heal from, the Bills are just continuing to aggravate and slow his "roller coaster" recovery. How obvious does this have to be? But then again, maybe Jauron has a sympathy concussion also as he does not seem either to accept or recognize the effects this has had on any offensive consistency or production since the infamous Arizona game. That's the turn for this season. Completely irresponsible of the coaches to plan this season, and continue on as if TE was indestructible. JP should have been getting more and more work immediately after the concussion. He wasn't until the "groin" injury. I had posted that he needed to be "warmer" but no, they sent him him colder than anyone can imagine, so season up in flames! Now we post to start GH. Actually a great idea in combination with another great idea in that every win now is a loss for draft position, not that we've really had any luck or ability with good positioning anyways. So I say, it can't get much worse than 3points/game so start GH. He may surprise and bring a little life into this offense and get him warmed up to his #2 role for next season. Who knows, maybe the next Matt Casell ?
-
Post Concussion trauma. It's not even questionable, and don't bring up the SD game. It's the brain we are talking about, it is not just a simple bruise! He should be on IR , or he'll be lost for the rest of his career.

Is JP or GH taking any more snaps with the first team??
atl-fan replied to atl-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's nothing to gain, of course, but EVERYTHING to lose if he isn't allowed to let this concussion properly heal. It's not a talent or ability issue, it's a medical one! I would hope if this coaching staff has the ability to get to the playoffs, they have this contingency ready, vs. bringing in a stone cold JP or deep frozen GH! This is what distinguishes a winning staff from a losing one, the ability to plan! Our guys react, and even then that's questionable. -
Maybe I've missed the little line in any news stories, but is JP or GH taking any more snaps with the first team this past week? What happens if TE starts out 3 of 6 again this week ( meaning 3 interceptions in the first 6 throws.) We just struggle through his post concussion syndrome again this week thinking that somehow the stress, the needed 110% focus and concentration on a rapidly moving game and the impending hits from 300 lb.+ linemen will somehow make him all better and win the game in the end! Or is their game plan 10+ throws to ML 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage and hope we don't loose too badly! Seriously, what will it take to jank TE from a game FOR HIS OWN GOOD!

Trent needs to see a "head" Dr.-fast!
atl-fan replied to atl-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the scary part, that noone is speaking up to sit the guy down! Even if he had had no concussion a few weeks previously, certainly not an unfounded inference, he should have been pulled in that game with his third interception in 6 passes! He doesn't have the coordination , concentration, or confidence that he showed in the first 4 games, at this point in time. Non performance and a continually degrading performance, no unfounded inferance there either, should park him on the bench . But throw in the fact that he has had a serious concussion, keeping him playing while he degrades before our eyes is a shame. It's not about going "batty" or being "dizzy" but it's the subtle differances in a person's abilities that indicate damage. I think his differences are a bit more than subtle at this point. I don't think think keeping him in there until he starts drooling in the huddle is better for him so his career isn't jeopardized; by putting him back in too soon, it already is. -
Trent needs to see a "head" Dr.-fast!
atl-fan replied to atl-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What a shame to watch him regress like this, last year's comparisons are invalid, he was a rookie, etc. etc. This year , until the hit, he showed poise, command and decison making abilities that were not relevant to the team level he was playing against. Medical malpractice...if they don't sit this kid down and fast, he won't have a clue as to what those two words even mean. I hope for his sake he seeks medical help and opinion outside the Bills organization. He was always injury prone in College, any concussions then? You only get a few of those shots before there is permanent damage. They do accumulate. -
In talking with a clinical pshycologist who watched last night's debacle, he observed in Trent: -lack of decision making ability -inability to coordinate physical reactions with mental commands ( horrendous decisions on throws when he could decide) - complete lack of confidence -inability to process information quickly, if at all. All of this in retrospect of his performance before the hit, and just the fact of the hit and the portions of the brain that were bruised . He thinks that TE is playing through obvious post concussive trauma syndrome. He's not only jeopardizing this team's performance and his image, but he's one good hit away from a permanaent trip to la-la land, and I don't mean when the Bills get sold and sent to LA. TE needs to be benched for the season. He has had a serious injury that despite the San Diego game, these things don't happen in a linear fashion, he has NOT recovered from and his mental condition is getting progressively worse. That much is painfully obvious over the last 4 weeks. He is putting his permanent mental health at risk. Bench him now for God's sake!

The Bills this past season consistently run out of gas in the 3rd quarter and by the fourth put up little resistance or drive.....hmmmm. I remember a strength and conditioning coach by the name of Rusty Jones. He always seem to gain alot of accolades while here, on a coaching staff that always seemed to make this team better as the game went on. TD comes in and Jones slips out of town. I think we miss him more and more as the game obviously grinds our team down. I've also though MM was a little "light" on the team through training camp and preseason. Alot of posts have been questioning WM's heart and drive.......hmmmm. I remember similar thoughts and statements back in the early 70's. We had a running back that just wasn't living up to expectations and it was thought he only really wanted to play in warm climates. A new coach came in and made quite a difference. Oj and Saban.
