  1. I don't need to...with our flimsy O-line in combination with Trent's need to hold onto the ball until the exact moment a receiver is wide open, I'm sure he'll be run into the ground plenty enough by the defensive ends of every team the Bills face this year. Some of us aren't "running Trent into the ground" but unobjectively trying to point out areas of his game that he needs serious improvement in. You're such an unabashed homer, you've already finished his bust for Canton. I believe Trent's got a lot to work on his game. He hasn't shown any improvements from the problems he had last season so far in the preseason and that's why I, and many others, are concerned about his game.
  2. I hope you do, because that will mean that Trent has developed into the QB we're all hoping can get us into a playoff spot. ...also, let it go with the "good grief, it's just preseason" line. This team hasn't looked good since Week 7 of last year and have a monumental test in a nationally-televised game against the Pats and so far COLLECTIVELY look worse than they did last year. Some of us Bills fans are just getting tired of looking stupid in front of all the NFL's viewership.
  3. Ahem.... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showtopic=94254 Don't steal my posting thunder Beerball!
  4. What difference? They both suck. Are you referring to Turk's "World's Slowest No Huddle" Offense? Yeah, our starters are lighting it up under that! I think a majority of people here fell in love with Trent Edwards simply because he was NOT JP Losman. I think there were only a few of us last year who felt NEITHER QB was the long term answer for the Bills. I'd love to be proved wrong by Trentative...
  5. "We practiced really hard and it seemed to work on Friday...we just didn't execute."
  6. When the team gives them something to be positive about, then things will change. 2-8 over their last 10 games and an 0-3 start to the pre-season where the starters and the Chosen One Trent Edwards haven't scored an offensive touchdown yet (just think about the futility of that for just one moment...) and you'll see why nobody hear is farting rainbows and p*ssing sunshine.
  7. Somebody try to make this guy our head coach PLEASE!
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...mp;sportCat=nfl My personal favorite line was: "Jauron never seems upset, or even to care -- he just jogs off the field, then makes excuses."
  9. This is the same group of people who kept saying: "Relax! It's just x loss, we're still 5-x and we're still in a postion for the playoffs! What's wrong with you people?!?!" When the rest of us saw the team imploding.. *where x = 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc.
  10. Coaching scared is Dick's modus operandi isn't it?
  11. Bingo. In passionate sports towns, the absolute last thing you want to do is p*ss off an influential member of the media. That person can turn the tide of popular opinion against you so fast, you'll be begging for a contract release. Edwards should have taken the high road, instead he's following to a tee JP Losman's Guide to Getting Run Out of the NFL™. 1) Quietly call out coaches 2) Openly challenge the media 3) Play in the UFL. As much as many of us want to see Trent succeed, his play over the final games last year (the ones JP didn't start) in combination with a very lack-lustre preseason has many of us wondering if this is just another RJ, JP, incarnation but with a little more smarts and a weaker arm.
  12. Scott Pioli left a perennial Super Bowl contender in the Pats to lead the "also-ran" KC Chiefs. Never underestimate a man's ego and will to be the "saviour" of a franchise. I think if the package was right, a competent GM or assistant GM could be lured here with money and the belief that they could be the hero of the city and toast of the town if they righted a drifting ship.
  13. I'm sure Ralph has got Fassel on his short list of replacements for Dick Jauron....
  14. Is this assurance on the same level as his guarantee of playoffs last year? If so, we're screwed.
  15. This post was poorly worded. You should have asked: "How many wins into the season will it take before you believe they're a legitimate contender?" I know many after the 5-1 start still questioned the legitimacy of that record. Sadly, Jauron's ineptitude in combination with the decline in Trent's play led to a disasterous 2-8 finish. Using the phrase "bandwagon" refers to fandom. And if you're on this message board and stuck with this team for at least the last 10 years, you've proven your mettle as a fan, because unless you're also an S&M freak, being a fan and hoping for a return to the glory days is the only reason you'd stick with this mess this long.
  16. You best not be taking a shot at the "Chroisen One" with these remarks, sir!
  17. Except for that whole "winning" thing Marv was able to do....
  18. 5-11, with 3 of those wins coming from intern head coach Bobby April.
  19. Graham Harrell was actually signed and is playing as the back-up QB for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. We'd have to wait until October before the Bills could sign him as per the CFL-NFL agreement.
  20. Color me concerned....I want more than anything for Trent to be successful and put a stop to the revolving door that is Bills Starting QB but his work in the preseason, in combination with his play down the stretch last year, Jauron coaching him, and essentially a rookie O-Line.....he just has a lot working against him. Yes, it's ONLY pre-season, but when your starting group hasn't thrown one touchdown yet in 4 games....time to get worried.
  21. Probably referring to this:
  22. I cannot understand the "hate" against this guy. He does work for charity, makes himself accessible to all his fans (who love the guy), and despite having a dispute about his contract, still showed up for work. He may be flashy but he really cares about his teammates. Locker room "cancer" he is not. I always remember the story about the Bengals first playoff game in years and how he went out amongst the early tailgaters with Bengals gear HE PURCHASED to hand out to them to thank them for sticking with the team.
  23. It's the sad state of media...I work for UBM / EETimes and though I was initially hired to just write technical articles on the components of consumer electronics, I now have to manage the video content, be a webmaster for multiple sites, act as an editor for contributed pieces, etc. etc. etc. And I'm STILL expected to write and TWEET (even though I find the whole thing stupid) to an audience.... I'm often wondering if working in media was a terrible idea...
  24. Because he's one strike away from being permanently shown the door by Goodell. We already have a one-and-a-half striker (Marshawn) on the team to keep an eye on. We don't need two.
