  1. I think the team should take a very hard look at Leslie Frazier (D-coordinator) from the Vikings. He brings the same accountability that Singletary brings to the 49ers. Look at some of the bright new faces leading teams to victory. Spending money on a big time coach doesn't guarantee results.
  2. I love what the 49ers are doing, mainly because I've always been a fan of Singletary. Samurai Mike is turning his team into warriors and is doing so with unheralded Shaun Hill as his QB! The man deserved a chance to be a HC and San Francisco took the chance. And its going to pay out in spades. The Chiefs were a certifiable mess the last few years. They now have a strong front office headed by Scott Pioli, a good offensive-minded coach in Haley and a decent QB in Matt Cassell. They'll be fine. As for the Lions - give Schwartz a year or two and that team will feature a defense that will terrorize the league. Schwartz knows D. The Broncs are the biggest surprise. Their D is amazing. Which is odd because their HC McDaniels was an O-coordinator.
  3. Jauron is so stupid that in his head, he's making the right call because he deferred earlier and now they start the 2nd half with the ball. His idiocy shines in that coaches defer the opening kickoff so they can end the half with the ball, score, start the second half with it again and score again. Essentially kicking the other team's offense off the field for quite some time. DJ is an IDIOT.
  4. Is that Rob Johnson with half the calories and none of the carbs?
  5. which are essentially the same policies of the previous Whitehouse.... Which is the same as another 7-9 season.
  6. Replace "Edwards" with "Losman" and we got the same thing we were saying in 2008. ...sigh....
  7. Because Rodgers is a better QB.
  8. ...have a combined record of 1-11. That's us, KC, and Tampa Bay (elite company I know...). I heard that comment on MNF and both Jaws and Gruden commented on what a terrible idea it is to fire your OC so close to the season starting. Sure, AVP is an upgrade over Turk, but why the HECK wasn't that call made at the end of last season?!?! Our losing chickens are coming home to roost...
  9. I'm guessing you were in the crowd that thought Trent was a better QB than Jay Cutler too huh? Here's comparing Trent's 2008 (14 games started) to Aaron's 2008 (16 games started) Comp. % Trent - 65.5% Aaron - 63.6% Yards Per Game Average Trent - 192 Aaron - 252 TDs vs. Int Trent - 11 TDs / 10 INTs Aaron - 28 TDs / 11 INTs There's a reason the Packers (an organization that's used to winning) has signed him to a six year, $65 million contract extension through the 2014 season and ours will be looking to hold JPs clipboard again in Vegas... No comparison. Rodgers is light-years better than Trent.
  10. Love it! But alas, I too am a huge PJ fan so my opinion is biased.
  11. When you pump fake, it's hard to keep confident.
  12. Apart from tight end, I actually think Trent has MORE talent to work with at RB and WR. Just shows how a essential a QB with the courage to stand in and make plays is to a team. Trent isn't that QB. After watching Rodgers under siege all game and still managing to throw over 350 yards and two INTS despite having one of the greatest DEs (J. Allen) driving him to the ground 5 times, I realized that true #1 QBs can play in the face of adversity. Rodgers ate dirt, dusted himself off and made plays. Trent in that same situation would implode, run to the sidelines, fix his hair and start texting his bff mid-game that he wanted to go home.
  13. Well....now we know who told San Francisco to draft Alex Smith....
  14. These games are still played on a surface conducive to being able to bring the skills they attain to the real field. I love street hockey as much as the next guy but the ice surface is what distinguishes the game from every other sport in the world. Sure kids in the south can play street hockey but just playing street hockey makes it very hard for kids to relate to the stars of the game. Kids want to emulate their favorite athletes as much as possible and not being to skate or getting access to ice makes that very difficult.
  15. And whose decisions over the past four years have placed us in a situation with such weak depth at key positions?
  16. Great post! This team has no identity. Unless that identity is the inability to beat good teams and make fools of yourself on a national level.
  17. Voted! And we're at 1600+ votes. What's sad is almost 50 people still think he's doing a good job....must be Big Cat, C.Biscuit, Trent and 45 Browns fans.
  18. It seemed just like the time I went to the bakery and got myself some true French pastries called "Choco-lat Dipurrs". I couldn't believe that a delicacy I found in Parisian desert shops had made their way to North America!
  19. On the same note... http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2009/10...1306676-cp.html Darwinism at its finest....
  20. He's about half-right when it comes to the sports acceptance. The reason hockey is so big in Canada and the northern states is that its ingrained in our culture as a winter activity. When its cold enough out, every kid in that region rushes to a pond or an outdoor rink and plays hockey til the sun goes down (or even longer if the rink is lit). In the southern US, where is a kid going to play the game without having the money and resources to afford playing at one of the two or three rinks their city has? My job was thinking about sending me to San Fran to work there. I looked up the price of hockey registration for myself and it came to $2000! For ONE SEASON. I pay that much here in Ottawa for two years of year-round hockey!
  21. The problem with a majority of the Trent "fans" on this board was they became obsessed with having to prove how great Trent was. The reality was these same Trent fans were very much against JP Losman and wanted to prove the JP supporters how silly they were in backing him up all these years. To make sure that they never faltered in questioning JP's ability, they made sure to feverishly defend Trent against anyone who dared question his abilities. Sadly, there were a handful of us who believe NEITHER QB was going to be the long term answer. Especially after Trent starting sucking it up down the stretch last year.
  22. C. Biscuit, The Big Cat, Trent Edwards and Donte Whitner. That's all I got....
  23. Is "conservative" a condition? I think they can only play in a condition that matches how Dick likes everything in life: "Mild".
  24. You know, I actually yelled at my dad yesterday "Why couldn't you have been a g@#$#@n Steelers fan?!?" Forcing your children to be Bills fans should be considered child abuse.
