I always thought Saunders was thought of as "the" offensive coordinator of the NFL....like he was some sort of sven gali and has a massive playbook. I think the size and scope of his offense is what caused him problems in Washington under Spurrier, no?

Exactly Billnut....the reh-tard rodeo is in full effect because the Bills haven't announced after four days of being allowed to do a FULL coaching search that Bill Cowher and Mike Shanahan are having a slap fight in the hallway to determine who will be the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills. Here's some fun facts for you the Chicken Little Brigade (credit: DC Tom) 1) The Bills ARE interviewing experienced head coaches like Cowher, Shanahan and Billick. Even if they offer them $100 million and a harem of 40 virgins, these men still have the free will to say NO to the job for whatever reasons they want to...I know..crazy right? 2) The Bills are INTERVIEWING the best coordinators for the head coach position in the event they cannot woo one of the big "names" out there. People like to call that DUE DILLIGENCE or in layman's terms "not putting your eggs all in one basket". Can you imagine the internet eruption there would be if the Bills let everything ride on Cowher, he waits and waits and waits before making a decision and we don't have a plan B and have to rehire Perry and his staff?

Speaking of ridiculous posts....what does the number of rings Cowher has have to do with my argument that just because a head coach has had previous success that said coach MUST be the head coach of the Buffalo Bills? The crux of my argument against all these pantywaists in an uproar over AN INTERVIEW is that someone gave both Billick and Marvin Lewis a chance to be a head coach in the first place. Had I known I was going to strike a sensitive nerve on the President of the Brian Billick Fan Club, I probably would have chosen my words differently... This Billick / Cowher or BUST mentality some people have around here is going to lead to some massive disappointment if the Bills don't hire either one of them. Me, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to our NEW GM and see how the offseason and training camps go before I nail him and the new head coach to a cross. The rest of you can resume building your bomb shelters for if/when the sky falls....

I would love it if Frazier gets hired by some other team and the lot of you b****ing about him getting an INTERVIEW go all 10-year-old girl on us and start crying hysterically about how the Bills 'lost' another candidate.

Can you give a compelling argument as to why the Bills shouldn't INTERVIEW (not hire...INTERVIEW) one of the top defensive coordinators in the league without sounding like a hysterical little girl?

Dick Jauron was a pretty big name too. What's bigger than 'colossal' to describe that flop-ness?

What is this infatuation with Billick?!? His one Super Bowl ring was gifted to him through the work of his DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR Marvin Lewis, who a team mired in horribleness known as the Bengals hired and lo and behold - aren't a joke anymore. If it wasn't for Marvin's build defense, Billick flames out as a head coach. Here's a fun fact too. At one point he was an offensive coordinator that someone took a chance on....and ironically, his offenses in Baltimore were terrible. So we want to bring in a guy who couldn't draft a QB, build an offense and get capable receivers to rebuild our mess of an offense?!? Yeah...that makes a poopload of sense....

So what you're saying if we don't get Cowher then the team has to hire some retread that no other team wanted just to make you happy? Billick has a Super Bowl ring - but he can thank Marvin Lewis and Ray Lewis for that. His offenses sucked arse and it took a rookie HC in Harbaugh to finally get that team a passable offense. Other than that, who do you want? Joe Gibbs? Dick Vermeil? Frazier isn't a "flunky coordinator". He's the coordinator of the best defense in the NFL - Tampa 2 or not. The best teams in the league right now have "flunky coordinators" as head coaches. Just because Ralphie boy whiffed on his picks doesn't mean Buddy Nix will too. Some people need to get over the perception that we need a former head coach to be successful. Dick Jauron was a former head coach with oodles of experience. And he sucked arse.

Good point John. I know many of you are weary of going the 'hot coordinator' route but Leslie Frazier is THE hot commodity. That Minnesota D is lights out (having Jared Allen doesn't hurt of course) and Frazier is the architect of that defense. He has been spoken in high regards by coaches like Tomlin, Singletary and I believe even Belichek has spoken very highly of him in game pressers. Have we not noticed that the best coaches in the league right now are not retreads like Billick and Cowher but coordinators given the chance like Ken Whisenhunt, Tony Sparano, Mike Singletary and Mike Tomlin?

Bring in a Bulger or a Delhomme (Dude is sooooo cut after how well Moore performed) to act as a caretaker and to mentor Brohm (or any draft pick QB the Bills take). No brainer.
