Favorite non-Bill player ever likely to retire
Heels20X6 replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will never forget that moment, especially because it was my best friend and I in a room full of Patriots fans. When he made that catch, the room went from cheers and high-fives to murmurs....Plaxico's catch turned the room silent....'cept for two fans hooting and hollering in the middle. Next to a Bills Super Bowl-winning TD, the loudest I've ever cheered at a football play. -

And yet...they'll still hate us. -
Does anyone know why the NBA doesn't switch to the NHL format of 2-2-1-1-1? I agree that this format stinks for both teams. By losing one game at home, the Lakers set themselves up to lose the series? And now, with a 3-2 "advantage", the Celtics have to now win one of two on the road to win the Championship?!? No makey sensey.

Video of Patrick Kane at the Blackhawks victory parade

NHL players can be so uptight sometimes - it's fun to see them let loose and party like we would. Heck, my teammates and I went on a two day bender when we won our Ball Hockey League championship! -
We all need to be more ''sensitive''
Heels20X6 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just to update, the rule was rescinded : http://www.ottawasun.com/news/ottawa/2010/...0/14342176.html As a former soccer coach in Ottawa, the rule is ridiculous. I understand the sentiment, to discourage overtly skilled players from running up scores in house league, but they completely ignored the fact that we wanted to reform the league system so that talented players/teams could be relegated upwards. Freakin' soccer board politics... -
You have to remember that this was the same 'rocket scientist' goal light/horn team that almost cost Philly Game 3 by sounding the horn and turning the light on too quickly before the puck had gone in and was frozen by the goalkeeper. After that gaffe, they were probably really gun shy.

I can't believe this is up to 306 pages....well done folks!

They are saying on ESPN Radio that Bynum has a torn meniscus and could be out for the remainder of the series. No links yet though.

Tim Graham and Ricky Williams
Heels20X6 replied to nick in* england's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find Ricky Williams to be a fascinating individual. Probably on my list of Top 10 people I'd love to have a conversation with. He seems to have a deeper understanding of his role in life and he seems so much more enlightened over the typical NFLer. -
The donut infatuation is definitely a by-product of Charlie Weiss....

Hossage is Lawrence Taylor.....?

Dear Moderators, please change the banner at the top of the page to reflect the greatest third string QB in Bills history...the man, the myth, the legend...the only entity capable of shutting down Two Bills Drive...Gibran Hamdan.

That was a rocket of a shot by Eager...wow. My buddy used to play lacrosse with him here in Ottawa. He said he was as big a prick in lacrosse as he is in hockey! Exiled, may I point you to the classic Scotty Bowman quote: "You're not in trouble til you lose one at home." If it was 2-0 Chicago heading back to Chicago, then I'd start polishing up the glorious mug, but you're going back to Philly which is just as loud as the Madhouse and about three times as mean. Niemi better get used to the mother of all hostile environments. I'm intrigued to see if Flyer fans will mock the Hawks with their own version of Chelsea Dagger like they mocked the Habs. Niemi was stellar tonight and despite his past playoff failings, Marian Hossa seems so determined to put an end to the Hossa Curse, even if he has to do it by himself. I've never seen him skate so hard. Leighton played really well. Tough break on the first goal and, like I said, that Eager shot was a lazer. Great series so far! As a neutral observer, I'm loving it!
-
Niemi is a great story on the importance of pro scouting....dude was the BACK-UP on a 2nd tier Finnish League team. One of their European scouts were watching him in practice and he saw something that obviously his own coaches didn't see. Signs him to a league-minimum contract and the rest is possibly history in the making. I agree though you have to go back to Leighton. He was nervous but so was Niemi and justifiably so, it was their first taste of the biggest game they'll ever play. Nerves had to be a factor. Now that the crappy game is out of their system and both teams should buckle down defensively, you'll see a different series going forward. What I find hilarious is how Bettman lucked out with Game 1. First US nationally-televised game on NBC in primetime in years and casual fans are treated to a goal fest. Let's see how Gary manages to screw up the renewed interest in hockey in the USA shall we?
-
Who starts? Leighton or Boucher? I'm thinking that's the worst you'll see of Niemi this series.
-
I was thinking the same thing....imagine how peeved off you are when you're the opposing team and you're hearing 21k singing "Dooo doo doo!"
-
This series HAS to go 7. Nash vs. Kobe is incredibly entertaining.

This was truly the most horrifying film I have ever seen. To this day, I'm still haunted by nightmares because of this movie... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101615/ Watch at your own risk...the damage is irreparable....

Wow...just goes to show you how brainwashed you are by the ABC/NBA marketing machine. The MVP should ALWAYS be the player that not only plays great and is invaluable to his team but also the type of player who makes everyone around him better. Take him off those Suns teams and they're a basement dweller. He was far more deserving of those awards than Shaq was. Celtics-Lakers...SNOOZE. So sick of seeing Kobe and his pouty face in the NBA Finals. The NBA as a whole is getting tired and predictable to the point that the regular season is irrelevant. The league needs some new teams in the Finals to keep the sport fresh. Plus...seeing ANOTHER Boston team blow a 3-0 lead in the same year would be EPIC.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer cancer..er..player in Dany Heatley. Considering he got away with a slashing call on Niemi earlier, consider it karma.
-
So what do you call Buffalo's own Patrick Kane? I just love how he essentially got a free pass from everyone for beating up a cabbie....
-
Exactly...how do you think he'd have handled meeting OJ (pre-murderous rampage) if OJ called him an idiot in public for forgetting his helmet during the Super Bowl? Probably would snub him too.
-
He was really good in the first two Home Alone movies...
-
Still better than the six minutes it'll take for people to forget you.

Kyle Orton on The Trade Block?
Heels20X6 replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, I think the way Kyle Orton plays now is probably what Trent Edwards looks like when he is not playing off his back. Essentially, put Edwards in Denver last season and he puts up identical numbers. They're the same QB except Orton seems a lot more durable than Trent does.
