The 5 Greatest Sports Movies of All Time
Heels20X6 replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Good gravy...so many good sports films to choose from! In no particular order Youngblood Field of Dreams The Replacements Major League Friday Night Lights The Fighter Big Fan Invinceable - hokey but I loved it Hoosiers Mystery, Alaska Remember the Titans - also hokey, don't care Rudy Brian's Song - TV Movie but it should count Cool Runnings -
No offense, but I don't think Chan is the "mastermind" that people make him out to be, particularly when it comes to using players at the best of their abilities. You're telling me he couldn't find anything useful for Maybin to do other than special teams? Say what you will about Rex, but he found a spot for Maybin to at least be slightly useful. My feeling is Chan is too stubborn to give kids a chance unless a gaping hole causes it.
-
You know his teammates love him too. The fact they went out and bought him a WWE championship belt to present him with during the SB presentation shows how in tune with him they are. I am a massive A-Rodge fan. It helps that he was following that insufferable ego-maniac Brett Favre which makes him even more likable to me. He has all the tools and he knows how to use them. I still shake my head that he "fell" to Green Bay.

21-7 is losing badly? Two scores are not insurmountable in football. Relax junior. You're using the content of the entire game to frame a moment that was inconsequential to the rest of the game. Or are you stupid enough to believe that Nelson's celebration caused the defense to let Romo march up the field and make it 28-7?
-
That and Green Bay is considered a "small market" franchise that somehow has made it all work. So Bills fans can't even use that excuse... To go from Favre right to Rodgers...Green Bay fans are blessed. I don't think we have to go thru the reh-tard rodeo we've had a QB since Kelly left. Now we're at the point that we're just satisfied we have an average QB in Fitzpatrick.

The Sunday nighter against the Pats was way worse....I think Moss had 3 TDs IN THE FIRST QUARTER. -
Just my experience at the game, I was in section 242 and all the Bills fans (minus a few F bombs for the horrid play on the field) were pretty well-behaved. The worst of the bunch was this caucasian wanna-be gang banger, drunk out of his mind, who needed to remind everyone how much of a "sh!!-town" Buffalo was and how great his Jets were. This was around children. He left in the third quarter. Some guy from Ottawa may have dumped a full coke on him as he was exciting...could have been anyone. The two other worse people were this couple of COWBOY FANS who didn't even face the play, just spent the whole game drinking and trying to start things with fans. They were escorted out by security early in the 4th. I had a great time at the games, I'd bring my kids too. Why? Because as some posters have said, the camaderie you get with fellow Bills fans is amazing. I loved chatting football with Bills fans before, during, and after the game. Sure, there are some serious louts, but I find they are few and far between.

JMO, Chan tried to gameplan for the Jets. The Bills are successful when Chan makes the other team try to plan for us. He coached scared because its the Jets. I wonder why he didn't do so against the Patriots? Maybe because he was able to key in on true weaknesses in the Pats' D that he couldn't find in the Jets...?

Jets were openly mocking the Bills

At the end of the day, their QB is still a kitty-kat... http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Video-Mark-Sanchez-is-jumpy-when-he-8217-s-on-?urn=nfl-wp11193 -
Just my opinion...but those 20, 30, 40 yard runs that FJ gets on screens could be touchdowns if it was Spiller. He has ridiculous breakaway speed. USE THE KID ON SCREENS!
-
I'd kill to have a Bart Scott on this team. He's an excellent player, his teammates feed off of him and he's done as much as Rex has in instilling this "Us against the World" mentality that the Jets have. They have talent, but they overachieve big time. The 2 times they've been to the AFC Championship, they really shouldn't have been there. But they play up.

He had a stinker of a dropped ball that was at least a first down, if not a potential TD.

Would you rather have Green and Dalton?
Heels20X6 replied to John Cocktosten's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We take a shot at a stud receiver next year. It was imperative that the Bills needed to shore up the D this year. Dareus was completely necessary. AJ Green is a luxury pick for a team devoid of defensive stalwarts. It's the same reason why I didn't like the Spiller pick. He could end up being a dynamic back but the Bills were in no position to take a player like him. -
Toronto Star Article on Buffalo Restaurants

When I was in Buffalo this weekend, I went to City Grill. Service and food were excellent and the bartender there was great to chat sports with. Really enjoyed my dinner there. -
The dropped passes by Jones and Freddie were brutal too. Changed what could have been 14 points into 3...

A Few Thoughts About The Game
Heels20X6 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Being at the game, it was frustrating watching the Bills offense at work. Receivers were there, players were open and it seemed like Gailey's game plan was just awful. As others mentioned, it felt like they were beaten before they took the field. The Bills are at their best when they are dictating the play and the type of game. It's like Gailey out-coached himself and decided to come up with the most conservative game plan possible to just keep it close. Speaking of close...why were the DBs so far off the line?!? All Sanchez did was throw 6 and 7 yards slants to pick up first downs! DBs and CBs needed to be in press coverage and instead, they were in zone. HORRIBLE. Also, Fred Jackson picked a bad game to play his worst as a Bill. The stinger may have took him off his game but he fumbled 7 points to the Jets and dropped two passes that could have been 14 for us in crucial points of the game. 4th and inches doesn't happen if he just held onto that ball on 2nd down. Think less about your contract Freddie...focus on the field. -
Lions fans start anti-Nickelback campaign
Heels20X6 replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to know who is still buying their albums?!? Here in Ottawa, they had a poll placed to vote on whether the new Nickelback song should be put into regular rotation. Overwhelmingly, the audience voted 'No' at an 80% to 20% clip. It resulted in the station manager chastising the audience for giving in to 'Nickelback hate' and not supporting a Canadian band. That resulted in the best 2 hours in radio history as the station was flooded with callers mocking the station manager and Nickelback. A great day in Canadian history... -

Amazing that you can tell the future of Luck's career without him having thrown one NFL pass yet...
