The Sabres are bad example to compare the Bills too. They have strong ownership now, seemingly, a dedication to winning and they have had a few winning seasons as of late. The Bills have been an absolute joke for 13 straight years from the top down. If the Sabres had that long a series of futility, the HSBC would be empty too and they'd start playing games in Hamilton. Again, this failure in TO has less to do with it being in TO and more with the Bills being a horrible, horrible football team with no national respect. If the Bills were good, the SkyDome would be filled with bandwagoning Torontonians cheering for them. Instead, they're pretty much a farm team that better teams beat up on.

You're not seriously comparing a team like the Leafs, an institution in the city of Toronto, with almost 100 years of history to a fly-by-day operation from another city like the Bills, are you? Of course Toronto fans want to see a winner. If the NBA said one team was going to play 5 games in your city, would you rather see the OKC Thunder or the Toronto Raptors? I can guarantee if the Raptors played 5 games in Buffalo, no one would go because they're a crappy basketball team. Newsflash - the Bills have moved from city embarrassment thru national embarrassment to now INTERNATIONAL embarrassment. The Bills SUCK. The only people left supporting them are diehards like us. You know that's the saddest part. If the Bills FO was really serious about regionalizing Toronto, they wouldn't have sent a joke of a franchise up there for 5 straight years. They would have built a serious winner by year 2 and gotten TO fans to jump on the bandwagon of a very good team. Imagine if the Pats did this? By the end of year 5, everyone in TO would be wearing Brady jerseys BECAUSE EVERYONE LIKES A WINNER. The inept Bills organization, oth, continually sent up some of the saddest, most pathetic teams to ever suit up. Not to mention some of the worst coaches the game has ever seen in Jauron and Gailey. Everything about the Bills screamed "B squad". Combine that with overpriced tickets and you can see why fans avoided it like the plague.
