  1. The Bills didn't blunder anything critical. Is Fred Jackson still able to contribute as a football player? Absolutely. But the Bills made the difficult decision (going rogue) that they didn't want to lose one of their other backs to be able to keep Fred for one more season. It's the sad reality of set rosters and salary caps. I wish Freddie nothing but the best in Seattle and I hope he can play the whole season there. But Fred Jackson is, at this stage of his career, a complimentary player and he won't be the difference between this team making the playoffs and not.
  2. Don't worry, they're coming. They'll use the same old tropes of "well, how do we know that they were the only team doing it!" and "Just shows how committed they are to winning!"
  3. Pete Carroll means nothing to me. I like Russell, Lynch and now Fred Jackson. You're officially my NFC team now Seattle. Don't F it up like you did the Super Bowl last year. RUN THE BALL.
  4. Anyone else seeing Timmah retweet anyone who insinuates that cutting Cassel was a "Whaley move" not approved by Rex...? I mean, can his agenda be MORE transparent? (Don't answer DC Tom...I get that transparency has a finite limit in it's own definition.)
  5. This is also good news even if Taylor and EJ stumble as QBs. We won't have Cassell carry us to another 8-8 record. We'll lose out and draft our next QB in the first round.
  6. Two pages in and no sign of Negativo saying that Whaley only cut Cassell because of his pride in drafting EJ...?
  7. This coming from the Mensa member that insinuated that many of the boards long-time posters were stooges for the Bills organizations. Yeah..."rational"
  8. I will rejoice when Meh Cassel is cut. He's about as milquetoast a QB as you can get. All he needs is a beard and we could have called him Kyle Orton.
  9. (3) He's an idiot. Trademark and Copyright DC Tom
  10. Sweet baby Jeebus....This has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever read on this board. Anyways, gotta go, having lunch with Russ Brandon, Terry Pegula's dog and Nanker to figure out how to control the message here.
  11. Wrong, it was the guy at the Bills Pro Shop who spent his lunch hour pressing extra number 22 jerseys only to find out Fred was released. Haven't read all 32 pages, but it's hilarious the lengths some posters go to so they can keep up the narrative that the Bills are a dysfunctional franchise... We have a great owner who doesn't meddle with roster decisions, a GM willing to make unpopular moves to try and get this team into the playoffs, and a coach who is willing to cast aside salaries and play the best man (starting Tyrod). But yah, let's keep pretending this is the Wilson-Levy-Jauron era.
  12. He was to be carried out of the building Officer and a Gentleman style while "Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong" played on the loud speakers.
  13. Maybe if you cry some more, it will convince Whaley to re-sign him on a veteran's minimum. Then he can comfort you with a pat on the back and whisper in your ear of: "you were right, champ...you were right all along..."
  14. I think he's the 3rd string because Rex has him in the "developmental" spot. Which means, he wants him to learn from the sidelines as opposed to holding the clipboard like Matt Cassell (a role the veteran is better suited for). In the event that Tyrod goes down for any length of time, I'd bet you'd see EJ starting a game before MC because he's better suited for Roman's offense.
  15. How is he "reliable" if he misses 5-10 games a season due to injury? I LOVE Fred Jackson, I own his jersey, I think he's arguably the best Bill since the 2000s in terms of embracing the team and never saying die on the field. But even I saw this coming some day. Running backs rarely ever finish their career with one team and they rarely stay effective once they pass 30.
  16. You realize how contradictory you are in these two statements, right? If Whaley's "ego" was as big as you think it is, would he not have demanded that Matt Cassell, the guy they are paying $4.1 million to and he traded for, be played over TT?
  17. But you trust Chip Kelly's assessment...the same guy who is wagering their entire season on Sam "One day I'll play a full season without my head falling off" Bradford....?
  18. Except that Bettis was still a very capable 3rd down, short yardage back. Sadly, Fred Jackson is not. He struggled in short yardage situations. Emotionally, it sucks, but it's a good football move. This is the kind of stuff that Belichek does ALL THE TIME. When the old dog can't play, he takes them out back to the barn. Think of all the "all-time great" Patriots he's mercilessly cut.
  19. I love most of this but this part is untrue. Freddie had a lot of fumbles over the past two years. 8 of them in fact. Some of them were really bad ones too.
  20. Exactly. They're giving Freddie a chance to land somewhere else. If he's one of the last RBs cut, he'll have a slimmer chance of cashing in elsewhere. All the best Fred, you'll always be a legend here.
  21. This is sad. I really wanted Freddie to retire a Bill. I get that he had a lot of hard miles on his body and there was no way he could play a full season without getting hurt...but still, he was a warrior for Buffalo when no one else would be. Man, CJ and Freddie gone in one offseason....wow.
  22. I'm pretty sure they're still together. On the radio this morning, they were going on about how she's the only girl he's dated that's actually met his parents.
  23. The CFL and NFL had an agreement that if a CFL player requested an opportunity to try out in the NFL, he could be temporarily released from his team to make a run in the NFL. That CFL team retains that player's rights if he fails to make it. It was part of an agreement long ago when the NFL provided some financial backing to the CFL.
