  1. Fancy quote but one could argue athletics is populated by many who have won with questionable character. Dennis Rodman, Pete Rose, Duane Thomas, Michael Irvin, Etc Etc have multiple rings. JP's character was not a problem the first quarter in Miami or when he came off the bench vs. KC. I saw some flashes of big time talent there. Maybe Marv is floating the rumor to give JP a nudge. Hard to believe we give up on him so soon.
  2. Huff or Young if he drops which I doubt happens. Hawk is a possibility.
  3. All parties said it was fair and clean. I have to wonder why the NFL is looking at it so closely, they obviously feel otherwise. He was blocked down to the ground and then lunged at the Palmer's legs. He was trying to make a play not injure anyone. The momentum of the block did not take him into the QB's legs.
  4. Nail Diggs, started for 5 years in GB, was a beast at OSU.
  5. Moulds was the more productive player last season and we give more? No way to this years third, that is dumb. GB takes Moulds and the 77th pick and a pick next year for Walker coming off an injury, and a fifth? No thanks. Negotiate that to Moulds and a day two pick for Walker and a later day 2 pick.
  6. I like Na'il Diggs former GB starter. Still sitting out, would come at a discount at this point in free agency.
  7. Agree, Lawson is a ! on many boards, 2 at the latest
  8. Explanation according to Packers message board was the new GM drafted Rogers and my read from the message board was the fans liked Nall better than Rogers. We will see soon enough how good he is.
  9. Some progress can be made by subtraction. I believe losing Mike Williams will be a plus. If Takeo can come back healthy and return to his impact status, the whole D will be better. Big if, see Cowart and Julian Peterson. The team can run to the edge better if Royal can seal the outside. Nuefield is a lousy blocker. Seems like we may go young at OG if a draft pick starts there rather than Benny. Marv never was big on starting rookies though he did give Henry Jones and Ruben Brown starting jobs.
  10. No shock esp after they did not sign Bentley or Hutch. Runyan wanted to stay there.
  11. My reason: Lack of starting players who have accomplished achievement. For instance; Craig Nall- never started an NFL game Lee Evans - never been #1 receiver on NFL level Melvin Fowler - never started for a 16 game season Jason Peters - never started for a 16 game season Matt Bowen- always been a backup, likely a starter Benny Anderson - still a starter Tim Anderson- if team was sold why the push for Pickett Troy Vincent - was weak last year, still starting Takeo Spikes- leader of team coming off injury that others struggle to come back from Not doom and gloom, just a look at the personnel. It's obvious Marv wants younger team to grow together even if we take some losses next year. His Super Bowl teams were built around a core of guys drafted early who grew in the league together, would not surprise me if this was his goal.
  12. I think he would be excellant at LT. He has good feet, long arms and a nasty attitude. I always loved watching him mow over peole on special teams. Wonderlic scores are more important for QB's than OT's. Can he get a push or not? The guy is a talent. I bet Teague had a great wonderlic score as he got pushed backwards into the QB the last 3 years.
  13. I was assuming the loss of Moulds. Roscoe may help us yet. The wrist was a setback last year.
  14. I think that would be the best route for a rebuilding team with at least 5 holes. DT, OG, T, S and WR.
  15. BTW, I thought Clayton reported Moulds would be cut by day end like 2 weeks ago
  16. Best case, someone shows interest, reality no one will pick up that contract.
  17. Watching him at ProBowl weightligting competition, he was a man amongst boys. Strong as an ox, simply doesn't like to practice or keep weight down which put him in the Tuna's doghouse. He is better than the present guards we have.
  18. Started a few before transferring. Chose LSU over Florida and ND so he must of had some talent. Started two games, including the 1999 season opener, in three seasons at LSU … Career stats were 431 yards passing on 35 of 79 accuracy with four interceptions in 14 games … Played eight games as the No. 2 quarterback behind Herb Tyler in 1998, including starting the season finale vs. Arkansas (15 of 30 for 1 TD and 147 yards) after a strong performance in relief in a narrow loss at Notre Dame (4 of 9 for 70 yards) … The steadiest performer in a three-way preseason competition also involving Josh Booty and Rohan Davey, Nall started the '99 opener against San Jose State (6-15-2, 79 yards), played quarterback in another game … Volunteered to move to receiver when injuries depleted that position, and he played in four games there during his sophomore season … Played in one game in 2000 and missed last six games with a broken thumb … Redshirted in 1997.
  19. Strategy would likely only apply to round 1 type players.
  20. Duane Starks Raiders Tyrone Poole Raiders Jeb Putzier Texans Julian Peterson Seahawks
  21. Seattle likes him. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9324476
