  1. If Ron Wolf or Ozzie Newsome was doing our drafting, maybe it's a good idea. Based on this groups track record, I say sign Peters.
  2. I think the Bears came out pretty good. They got a franchise QB who has 10 years of playing time ahead of him. QB is the most important position on the field and they got one of the best. I say Forte, Olsen, Hester and Cutler is a good offensive nucleus. As an earlier poster said, a WR is easier to find then a franchise QB.
  3. He was rarely used at SU. Not sure how he is now so much in demand unless he is a workout warrior. A good sleeper from SU is Paul Chiara, a rb converted to safety. He really came on at the end of the season.
  4. This idea is dumb. I guess you have forgotten Trent's text messages to Dick Jauron.
  5. Hargrove had talent. He was a decently high pick. He played well for the Bills. My hunch is he follows Bill Kollar to the Texans. That is why he came to Buffalo in the first place.
  6. Hope he passed their mental makeup exam
  7. The top 4 are all excellant. I loved the Matthews brothers. I think Merlin Olsen and his brother pretty good. 10. Thomas and Julius Jones 9. Champ and Boss Bailey 8. Jamie and Darren Sharper 7. Randall and Sam Cunningham 6. Dale Carter and Jake Reed 5. William and Michael Dean Perry 4. Ronde and Tiki Barber 3. Shannon and Sterling Sharpe 2. Bruce and Clay Matthews 1. Peyton and Eli Manning Personally, I think the Bahr's Chris and Matt should have made this list. Two of the best placekickers of their day
  8. We might need him in the pass blocking game as well as the TE will be staying in to block a lot.
  9. Coaching staff - can they put gameplans together that play to the strengths of the team and individual players I am not critical of their gameplanning as much as the game day decison making. Last year's follies included the JP fumble in an all but won game vs the Jets, an absurd settled for FG attempt vs. Cleveland, the time clock miscue at the end of the first half at NE as Duke Preston is fighting with the Pats, FG attempt from the one inch line after a 15 play drive vs SF that clanked off the upright, I'm sure there are many I am forgetting. Gameplanning is the least of our problems.
  10. LOL! Well played ! I think the pass rush part is right though I think the pass rush needs to come from the interior. Pennington hardly was touched with his quick drops, same for Kurt Warner last year. Brady presents the same problem. A defensive tackle like Jerry or Raji would be more important than a DE. As for Whitner, he was used to blitz but never got there or was easily blocked. He missed a lot of tackles as did Simpson and Ellison. He (Bowen) probably just spent 2 hours here..
  11. Not bad Gordio. I guess the other side of it might be we have little chance of a winning season with Jauron as coach so why not trade Peters and load up picks on the offensive/defensive lines so the next coach has some quality young players to work with.
  12. I found this to be bizarre as well. I doubt he was on their radar anyway, why trash the kid's opportunity.
  13. First year, he probably plays for small amount with incentives. If he is successful, he will make top money. The guy has incredible talent.
  14. Interesting observation. TO and Evans are going to run longer routes which will require time for the QB. Dumping Peters won't help that. Moving Walker creates a huge dropoff in the run game. Singing Peters helps for the win now theory. Grabbing picks for Peters makes sense for a team like Detroit that is building from the bottom. I can't see how it makes Buffalo a playoff team. One step forward, two steps back. Moving Walker over works in a pinch for a game or two, but is not a solution the Bills will want to go with. Given the playoff drought and being guaranteed only a year of TO I think the Bills will want to go for it this season and resigning Peters is a likely important part of that strategy.
  15. Unfortunately I am starting to agree. The last time we had someone who had to be paid the most at his position was Nate Clemens and we know how that worked out. On one hand I thought with the Toronto money Ralph and Littman would step up and pay the going rate for a good player. But if we can't afford Peters, I guess we go shopping for the best deal we can find. I think he warrants more than one draft pick. If we could score a first and a third, maybe we do it. One step forward, two steps back ...........welcome to Buffalo. [2.) I really thought a deal would get done. As time goes by, I'm thinking we'll see a trade. This is ridiculous.
  16. I have read the Patriots are big believers in building their offensive line from the interior out so the QB can step forward without someone in his face. This blew up against the Giants in the Super Bowl but I think they have had a little success.
  17. DT, Stroud made a big difference over Triplett as an example. Raji over Kyle Williams would be equally significant.
  18. I am not doubting Pettigrew is a good player. My view is that another weapon in the passing game is a waste without addressing the interior line. Can a northeastern team get by with second rate talent at OG and an above avg talent at TE ? My preference would be a starting caliber OG and add a TE after that. If they landed Brian Waters in a trade, then I can live with Pettigrew at 11.
  19. Good post PTR. And it may actually have some traction whether we like it or not.
  20. Well said Thurm. Why does every network isolate on Peters matchup with a replay? Maybe its because most of the positive plays are run to his side. The fact I rely is what I see with my own eyes. Peters shoves around his man again and again. Jason Peters is the best football player on this team. Is he better with camp and conditioning? Of course. I do know he and every otherlineman gives up a lot less sacks when Edwards is playing QB vs JP. That is a fact.
  21. I have read he has great footwork for a big guy and is hard to get around. Game film is always the first source of information before a workout.
  22. Amazing that we are so bad on the Offensive Line and the front office reaction is to again go for the "patchwork " line. Sign Peters and draft a guard who can contribute now and I am elated. Not expecting it though.
  23. Desmond Hotel near QVC has a good bar. Can never go wrong with the Irish pub on Rittenhouse Square.
