  1. I can live with the late round db's. The USC player looks like a steal. The WVU player reeks of being the "sleeper" pick some scout was sitting on. My guess is that they saw no lineman that they felt strong about that they couldn't get as a UDFA. I would think an OT undrafted would want to give Buffalo a try.
  2. The whiffs on short yardage plays would be a great starting point. Fowler and Preston surely led the league.
  3. I imagine he comes in as a fifth lineman and comes off the edge. I think Denny is a good player. Solid not a pass rusher though.
  4. DJ looked like he could hardly contain himself. Trading away third round pick and fourth round pick and still getting Shawn Nelson is pretty good drafting. ANything else is gravy at this point. Maybe a flyer on a DT.
  5. I hope they stick to building a tough team rather than the soft team we have seen in the past. Levitre, Maybin, Wood and Byrd all have toughness. Gotta love Byrd having 200 tackles. Maybe they target a DT like Terrance Taylor of Michigan. Maybe a DE. I think Bowen and Digiorgio provide lb depth. Ellison and Maybin will share the other lb. TE is a mystery. I don't think they would have traded their third pick if they were worried about the position.
  6. Fabulous if it happens. Instantly makes the defense tougher. Love the mock in your signature as well.
  7. Good read, draft day never gets old. I still remember the first one I watched where we took Tony Hunter from ND and Jim Kelly. I was hooked thereafter.
  8. On the flip side they took Trent Edwards on the same premise. I think we are seeing GM speak there. Let's hope Buddy Nix has some say today, I got little faith in Modrak, Guy and Co.
  9. Not terrible idea. I like Loadholt. Herm Johnson later on wouldn't shock me either.
  10. Let us not forget the ever popular " high motor"
  11. Dead on Dave. Planet theory is quoted in his book. Parcells likes big guys.
  12. I do not understand the need for a fourth rather than a third.
  13. The Giants board I just looked at indicated Peters stuffed Osi until Peters left the game injured.
  14. The #28 pick is overpaying for a starting NFL left tackle? Jason Peters has plenty of film prior to 2008 that might make his a good pickup for that price. Brandon was willing to pay Peters $9M, I think that salary offer might indicate he was worth a #28 selection if not more. Let's pull this piece out in November to see if it makes any sense. Moreover, how could Andy Reid give up the No. 28 overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft for him? You can suggest that Reid was too busy waiting in line all year at Geno's Steaks to watch film on Peters or even check his stats, but doing so wouldn't be too classy.
  15. Sadly, I had the same interpretation. Russ "Moneyball" Brandon with another tricky move. Probably insisted on the later first round pick for the same reason.
  16. Flexibility? What am I missing here? Most 6 and 7th rounders are camp fodder. A team with multiple holes turns away a third rounder.
  17. Let's not forget the real "GM" Littman.
  18. I think the Walker option is being overplayed. His footwork and athletic ability is no where's near the better left tackles in the league. This is reminiscent of all the praise heaped on Corey Loucey and Jerry Crafts when they took over for Will Wolford and House Ballard respectively. Pay Peters and let Walker remain where he is. this is an option that could work out well
  19. We survived. Playoff teams don't continually create holes to fill. I am all for trading players for picks if we are rebuilding.
  20. Trent has enough weapons to win games. We need to address other needs. uote name='VJ91' date='Apr 16 2009, 10:44 AM' post='1388392'] How about to Buffalo for Jason Peters, straight up? The Cards get their LT after Gandy's horrible game in the SB, while the Bills can add another premier pass receiver to their arsanal. And maybe they would even sign Boldon for more then one lousy season! The Bills could plug Walker in on the left side, and then draft a rookie to compete for the right side.
  21. Cushing, makes plays, can rush the passer, has toughness which we lack. Plays with an attitude that we lack. Is a northeast guy. And by the way I could care less if he sucks in "coverage". We need LB's who can tackle.
  22. Agree completely Lancaster. Grades many players lower than the popular press. Detailed grades are fabulous.
