  1. Jauron is a lousy coach. I am hard pressed to believe Haslett could be worse. There will be many options available next year. If Ralph wants to spend, he will have no problem getting a proven winner like Shany, Cowher or Billick. More likely is the retread pile like Morningwig or Ken Venturi.
  2. This is a valid question. The way Jauron plays for three points anyway, why in the world would we run a no huddle. It would probably help the young lineman to be in a huddle as well.
  3. I disagree. Hell, they feature the Bills camp daily. Sal and Leo do good work. I think their shared column is a waste, I never bother reading that but the rest of their Bills coverage is super. Time Warner covers them well too on Channel 26.
  4. I agree completely. Bell should get a try at LT, Walker is going to be avg at best on the left. Bell is getting reps on the right side maybe the left is the better answer. I think the short passes are the scheme Turk wants due to the bad line, when that isn't there, GB exposed the result.
  5. In this make believe exercise, I would take Cowher due to his Northeast style of play. More likely would be Mike Nolan or Marty Moningwig, they would come cheap, be easily controlled and we would not be competing with anyone for their services.
  6. I have the same concern. Take away Trent's quick pass and he looks completely confused.
  7. The scary thing I see just ike last year is not one of our front four draws a double team, they get taken out man on man which gives the QB all day to throw. Mitchell takes horrible angles on the sweeps. I thought Poz and Scott looked ok last night.
  8. #54 Harris was stellar, he will contribute somewhere. McCargo looked ok to me. Oman had some moments. Rhodes ran well though his whiffed block almost got the QB killed. My biggest concern is that it all looked just like the end of last year which is scary. If we are looking to lead the league in 3 yard completions we are well on our way.
  9. Schobel looked mediocre last night but I think he may be helped when they start running stunts instead of him going face up on the LT. Let's hope Maybin adds something. GB ran right at Kelsay multiple times.
  10. Nelson has very obvious talent and will be hard to keep off the field. Stupar knows how to get open and makes plays. Schoman and Fine are good for the 4 yard catch off the boot leg. One of the tight ends has to be a good blocker and help on special teams so I would keep the better of Schoman or Fine in that regard.
  11. I would agree Schobel looked slow. Harris is in, Fine dropped an easy pass. Nelson will get some touches.
  12. First and goal throw to flat for FB? Turk is in midseason form.
  13. #54 Harris is a player. He is in on every play. Rest of the backups look pretty bad last series.
  14. Pretty bad, Edwards looked bad too, defensive pressure was bad. Teams still run at Kelsay pretty sucessfully. Needless to say there is still work to do. I would be stoked if I was a Packer fan; Rogers looks real impressive.
  15. What is your favorite game day coaching move of the DJ era?
  16. I think Sal has some realistic concerns in that blog. Teams will run at Ellison until he can win at the point of attack, likely not gonna happen. Checkdowns will be a problem if TE gets happy feet like last year. I have never been a Sal fan but I liked that blog.
  17. Then explain Jauron's losing at Chicago and Detroit. Buffalo is not his first job. And five Bills caught passes that night vs Cleveland and I recall Jaws commenting about how open receivers were down the field and TE checked down. Does everyone remember when Belichick coached the Browns? Where was his superior football genius back then? It was riding the pine, unnoticed amongst the throng of sub-average players. From 1991-1995 the Browns under BB were 36-44. Ironically, if you extrapolate one more 7-9 Bills season over a similar five year span, you end up with almost identical records of 35-45. But yea, blame the coaches, since every ounce of logic and reason, not to mention empirical evidence, suggests that good coaching can compensate for bad playing.
  18. I am pretty sure most wins in the NFL are not by 2 or 3 touchdowns but rather decided by 7 points or less where coaching decisions make a difference. The last second FG attempt vs a terrible Cleveland team that fired its coach was a settled for long FG when we had a first down and time to get closer. I am not sure how such a decision that failed would make perfect sense. Losing to a SF team that also fired its coach, used its 3rd QB beat Buffalo at home when they hardly had any first downs. I am pretty sure it was a coaching decision that had JP Losman rolling out against the Jets when the game was won. I simply don't get your logic. The logic here doesn't make any sense. On the other hand, until you can be up by 2-3 scores late in the game, it makes perfect sense to play to win on a last second FG. Can someone justify the reasoning behind the continuing complaints with any argument that has more substance than "we should have won game X"?
  19. I am not too sure Coughlin changed all that much. I see no way that Jauron changes, TO's will be wasted and FG's will be the rage. Hopefully, we win despite him.
  20. Great read. Good for AVP
  21. Steve's Pig and Ox is outstanding!!!
  22. Rice was more consistant, never dropped as many passes. Both are pretty damn good but Rice was the best.
  23. Entertaining announcer as well.
  24. I have read comments like this here before. Absolutley don't get it. DiGeorgio makes a lot of plays and better than given credit for around here. My hunch is Bowen wins that spot but DiGi plays plenty.
  25. He is a great coach. I am shocked it is even in question. No likes him but his record speaks for itself.
