  1. Snead had a fantastic workout the other day. He has the strong arm Buddy referenced when talking about the winds at the Ralph. I am all for it.
  2. Tate is a great player. He will not be there at #41. We have too many needs in the trenches to make this pick.
  3. I think they should keep all their picks for the time being. Philly is stuck with three QB's and has to unload one. They have already publicized that McNabb is not going to be their QB. There is no pressure on Buffalo to meet their current demands. Buffalo should hold their cards until the price comes down. The 2010 second round pick is likely a starter in the trenches where we need help. McNabb is not going to put Buffalo in the playoffs in year one. He has a one year contract currently in place. Further, Buddy is a lifelong scout so I doubt he wants to give up his early picks in his first draft.
  4. I am guessing that Buddy goes front 7 on defense and OL on offense. As this is a 2 year rebuild, he can add receivers later to compliment the current group. I could see taking a move the sticks type like Decker or Shipley if they are around after the 4th round.
  5. He is visiting Jets and Ravens this week. The guy is a good player. http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/sports/a...1cc4c03286.html
  6. The way people ran by Bell, Scott and Chambers, I cannot see any justification to not upgrade the tackle positions immediately. You cannot run a modern day offense without at least some resistance to the defense.
  7. This guy gives a pretty good analysis of the needs on defense. It will be a challenge. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03...-film-revealed/
  8. I say keep him another year. Why create another hole on the roster. He is only 24 with a 2M cap figure. He put up solid numbers his first two years in the league. His off the field stuff will make him questionable as trade bait. I seriously doubt AJ Smith is giving up his 3rd pick for a RB when he can get Willie Parker or Justin Fargas to share the load with Sproles.
  9. Playing in the cold is about mental toughness. Kent Hull was from Mississippi and he did ok. Gimme Baluga, Tyson Alualu, Rodger Saffold and Arthur Jones, I think we could win some games with those guys. I like Ben Tate. Throw in Tebow if he is around in the mid rounds though I bet he goes higher than most think.
  10. Wood is a huge question mark for 2010. Incognito is a good player from what I saw. Both tackle positions are indeed dire.
  11. Jimmy Clausen will go in the top 6 picks. Pro scouts review arm strength, decision making not winning percentage. Most realize Clausen did not play defense or offensive tackle at ND as both were lacking.
  12. My biggest concern with Maybin is once locked up with the OT he had no ability to shake off the block. He was swallowed up and stopped. Has a long ways to go as a DE but should look better in the 3-4.
  13. I take a greater interest in the reports from the Senior Bowl practices where he was tossing centers around like ragdolls. The guy is a great player.
  14. Get a big back not a scat back, we play in the NE. McCluster goes 165. If he plays wr, have we learned nothing from the Roscoe experimnet?
  15. Clausen won't make it to #9 anyway. Surely this anonymous "scout" knows JP takes off running as soon as he senses a rush and never has his eyes downfield. Clausen routinely hits scans the field, buys time with his feet in the pocket and makes accurate throws. I see no comparison between the two at all except they are both from California.
  16. I like Spikes a lot. Carrington will never make it to the 5th. He had a great Senior Bowl week. 2010 Draft 1st: Anthony Davis LT or Russell Okung LT 2nd: Brandon Spikes ILB ( I have a feeling he falls to the 2nd rd) 3rd: Cam Thomas NT (stock rose from senior bowl can learn from vet) 4th: Eric Norwood OLB (unless we get McNabb with this pick, then this is mute) 5th: Alex Carrington DE or Vince Oghobaase DE 6th: best offensive weapon (Eric Decker WR, Riley Cooper WR, Jordan Shipley WR, LeGarrette Blount RB or James Starks RB) 6th: Cameron Sheffield OLB or Lindsey Witten OLB 7th: Best Oline prospect left Good offseason!
  17. pretty sure Houston isn't taking on two large salaries with a lockout looming. They are paying Mario Williams a lot of money at DE as well.
  18. Just say no to giving up premium picks. Teams that draft well pick stars in the top 10. I will take a 10 year OT over a three year fading QB.
  19. I expect they will sign a vet LB as many are going to be out there. Maybe a DL or wr. I expect the OL will be addressed in draft.
  20. He is a good temporary fix. He has played in some big games, is good at throwing it downfield. He does have an annoying habit of skipping balls into the ground at inopportune times. Bills simply cannot give up premium picks for him. There are too many holes in the lineup. Think Rich Gannon going to Oakland for the last few years of his career or Deberg going to KC. It can work for a while.
  21. What am I missing here? Ralph's ticket prices are hardly an issue. If the guy wants to trash his running off of Polian and other competent football guys, Ralph is guilty as charged. His ticket prices are pretty fair. Has Buffalo been destroyed by a natural disaster? Yeah, a few years ago in October. Did Ralph offer any help? No. He raised his ticket prices.
  22. As long as it doesn't cost much, it's a possibility. He would be better than anyone we got today. Long term answer, no stop gap why not. Hell, he was good enough for Parcells twice. He seems to know a thing or two about the game.
  23. Work in Alex Carrington and that draft would be perfect
  24. I assume Schobel is gone in a trade. I am much more concerned over who plays DL.
  25. They can add a wr after they plug the other glaring needs at OT and QB. WR is a luxury at this point.
