  1. I like the pick. Buddy is going to take the sure thing and this guy is pretty good. I like Mallet too but I recall Buddy being quoted as saying the team needs to get bigger and stronger on both sides of the ball so I think Carimi is a good start. That said there is a lot of football left and we need help multiple places so who knows.
  2. Take a fifth or sixth if one is even being offered. Over the hill vets tend to get waived rather than anyone giving up picks.
  3. He stays another year though his health looks terrible right now. He might not last that long.
  4. I liked Incognito myself wish we kept him. As for Lynch, I never considered him one of our better players. As a runner, he had little vision, FJ is a much better runner. As a pass receiver he dropped at least one swing pass a game. Take the picks and move on. yeah..we might have gotten rid of Peters, but look at the great decisions we made getting rid of Owens, Incognito and Lynch...
  5. Hopefully, they get Stupar off the field for fake punts, maybe let Martin take the field if a blocker is needed.
  6. I agree with this point. Fitz is a good backup. The reality is a superstar at QB can win games, make key third down throws, key red zone throws, bring a team from behind in the fourth quarter regardless of the quality of the opponent. Fitz is not going to do that. That said, the lack of talent all over the field is consistent with an expansion team, we need help everywhere.
  7. Troup is not the problem. The lack of the lb's to get off blocks and run to the ball exposes them when runner bounces it outside or if the other team runs a reverse, our cb's and lbs are single blocked by te's, rb's and wr's. Troup actually drew a double team a few plays; a rarity.
  8. I thought he clogged things up pretty well, even managed to draw a few double teams. His role is not one that is going to be real flashy, unfortunately our horrible linebackers can't get to the ball anyways.
  9. QB all day. Ralph will have to open his wallet for a real DE or a real OLB.
  10. Every trip to the red zone, the opponent finds the middle of the field wide open. The isolation on Kelsay is automatic as well. Think we might plan for those trends after 5 weeks.
  11. All for it, a fifth might be the best you get for him though.
  12. If one of the QB's grades out as a superstar, gotta take him assuming we have the top pick.
  13. Going back through the Jauron years to present, does anyone else cringe when they see this offensive set. With out outmatched OLine, it is always an instant pressure if not a sack. A lot of good teams don't use this set yet we see it weekly.
  14. Tf Bell looks good for the remainder of the season I would look for a player that could help our front 7. I agree with this. RT is a need but not that high of a pick. pick has to be a difference maker, no development guys.
  15. I like #37 George Wilson myself. I wish he got more playing time than Whitner.
  16. While he has a long way to go, it did seem he was being held a couple of times in the second half.
  17. Mallett sucks...he's Drew II, but won't be as good I don't see the statue comparison. Mallett can move his feet in the pocket, makes nice throws on the move, does not have Drews roundhouse motion, no patting the ball. I see more of a Rivers/Flacco comparison; tall enough to see the field yet can move it he needs to and most importantly Mallett's ball gets there in a hurry with very little air under it. WHo knows if he nakes it in NFL or not, he will be a better choice than Locker.
  18. Sanders plays his position with everything he's got. He throws his body around without too much regard for it. See above for the answer, He was a great player when healthy. Many greats have suffered multiple injuries. Namath, Butkus, Sayers, William Andrews etc etc all missed tons of time.
  19. Nice analysis. Only thing I would add is I thought #54 Davis played pretty well at ILB.
  20. I like Mallet as well Senator. I could live with Carimi or Jeremy Beal ILB of Oklahoma. Gotta let the season play out, some guys not even talked about will emerge.
  21. Like it, he is like an estra lineman on the field
  22. Gonna trust Buddy and Whaley know who they want. Russell is huge for a LB at 280.
