  1. I am so fed up, I would like them to give up a couple of number 1's and whatever else for Luck. Enough with the stop gaps. Get the sure thing.
  2. Well done and accurate. Neither can throw the deep ball. Difference is Deberg "managed" the game while Fitz is a gunslinger. Amazes me that every third and short Chan dials up the long ball that is a low percentage throw for Fitz.
  3. Bravo !!!! This is the best draft related post I have ever read on this site. I can only hope your interpretation is accurate. I think Barkley and Griffin are both better than Gabbert, McCoy, Jimmy Clausen and a few others we passed on the last few years. Both buy pocket time with their feet and keep their eyes downfield and deliver great throws. Both have to be strongly considered if available whem Buffalo picks despite glaring needs elsewhere. Thereafter, think front 7 and big.
  4. Last year in AFC title game Pittsburgh used two TE offense against Jets and went toe to toe with them. They even put a third offensive tackle at TE a few series. NE does it as well to neutralize Ryan's overloaded blitz packages. I wonder if Chan would ever put Lee Smith and Chandler on the field with McIntyre and pound the ball even for a series. I am having a hard time thinking the spread offense is exclusively going to work against NY Sunday.
  5. Caught this remembrence at the Mississippi St. site Never heard this before but thought it spoke volumes about #67. RIP His fellow players regard Hull as a great teammate and he revealed a piece of that legend in the locker room after their first Super Bowl loss, a 20-19 defeat by the New York Giants. A last second 47-yard field goal attempt by Bills kicker Scott Norwood went wide right as time expired. “I’m getting ready to leave the locker room and there’s Scott Norwood sitting there, still in his uniform,” he says. “I went over there and said ‘take your stuff off and get over there in the shower.’ And he’s all upset. I said, ‘Scott, let me tell you something. Had I done my job better, that 47-yard field goal might have been a 33- or 37-yard field goal. Now you go get in the shower.’ And I waited till he got dressed and we left together.”
  6. Big difference in the game was pass rush in the first half made Dalton uncomfortable and he made mistakes. Second half was a different story as Cinci kept in a lot of blockers and Dalton bought time with his feet making some good plays along the sideline scrambling to his right. Tackling was terrible as well. Lotta guys leaving their feet and tackling air. Offensively, Fitzy looked completely uncomfortable in the pocket throwing sooner than he had too many times. Call on Stevie Johnson's third down catch was huge as was the spot on 3rd and 1 in a close game. Spread offense drew a lot of middle blizes and the running plays between the tackles went right into the pile. Cinci was better than expected but a break or two and the Bills could be 4-0.
  7. I think the beneficiaries of his play are Dwan Edwards and Chris Kelsay along with the 2 inside lb's. Dareus is the highest impact Bill's rookie in years.
  8. The Giants beat them in the Super Bowl by beating them with the front four and changing up the coverages. If we sit in the same base defense all day, Brady will pick it apart. I would crowd the middle of the field where Brady's accuracy is incredible and make him throw to the sidelines. And if Danny Woodhead is standing next to him in the shotgun, expect the draw. He killed the Bills last year with that play.
  9. Carrington was quite impressive. He will be tough to keep out of the lineup.
  10. The lack of planning was obvious on Denver's second scoring drive. Orton took them down the field with a series of short drops, one play even one step drop and picked up big yards along with quick snapping the Bills before the defense was set on the same drive. Buffalo would see that on film and be ready in a regular season game. The defense does not concerm me as much as the offense. Fitzpatrick has not been accurate, receivers drop balls when he is and Bell's ugly performance is going to get the QB killed. Based on what the wr's showed the other night, I cannot see the logic in casting off Lee Evans for a 4th rounder.
  11. Bills - Jerry Butler, John Davis Others- Tony Boselli- Hall of Fame was likely Bo Jackson was a good call earlier
  12. I am not writing off Florence at this point, he has the SD connection with Buddy. McGee has done nothing for 2 seasons. One common thread in the picks for the back 7 was good tacklers.
  13. His biggest problem is he cannot contribute to special teams on top of his one move pass rushing. Baring a miracle, he is done.
  14. I am elated that Dareus is a Bill and bet Buddy is happy he did not have to make that call on Newton.
  15. Rudolph has great hands and I am a big fan and would have loved to see him on the Bills. Reality: Rudolph has health concerns as he tore his hamstraing from the bone last year along with the injuries from the prior year. He is not a blocker at this point. I think Buddy and Chan figured this was a Free Agency position where one addtional tight end can supplement or replace Chandler, Stupar and Nelson.
  16. Ourlads rated him a second round pick and the best inside linebacker. Not sure why he is being passed over other than the hamstring problem.
  17. Ourlad's take: Makes plays as a safety and a punt returner. Good football intelligence and athletic ability. Long arms for a safety. Excellent in run support. A tough and aggressive hitter. Loves the contact. Put up 225 27 times at the combine.
  18. Based on the clips I saw, I would be concerned about picking Newton, the Auburn offense seemed pretty elementary compared to the pro game. Mallett was pretty impressive. Call him a head case, slow footed, etc. Bottom line, the guy makes the big time throws required by NFL quarterbacks. If Mallett miraculously falls to round 2, I say take him.
  19. Might not be just strength training. Maybin does not play with his hands to avoid getting locked up by the OT. Maybe his footwork is shoddy and he doesn't take steps to improve that. I see a total lack of identifying plays, running right by the ball. A pass rusher should have a sense to bat a ball down on a short drop which Maybin has never shown. A good DE stuides his opponents, recognizes tendencies, recognizes formations. All and all, does Maybin play with any competiveness. I have a sense Maybin's issues are not just weight room related.
  20. The Bills defense gave up more 20+ yard running plays than any team in the league and had the worst stop percentages in short yeardage situations. The embarrassing manner that NE and NY carved up the Bills running the ball in December should be a lasting image. Danny Woodhead looks like Gale Sayers against the Bills. They additions of Merriman and Batten might help but we still need a DE that can slow down a running play and not be blocked one on one by a TE. I would pick one of the DL like Dareus or Jordan and get a LB who wraps up in on of my top 100 picks. If the right QB is there at 2 take a shot but I would rather see a TE like Rudolph taken #2 or an OT if one os the good ones slides (not likely).
  21. Great job. Would take a LB or DT rather than a young QB in second as well.
  22. Cullen Jenkins of GB would be nice. How about Zack Miller of Oakland or Kevin Boss? Dhani Kones of Cinci avgs over 100 tackles a year, how about him? Maybe Ralph should just pocket the money instead.
  23. I hope they don't take a QB at all if they don't do it in the first round. Get the run defense improved and get a real ROT and TE.
  24. Stroud was easily taken out of runs plays last year. To his credit, he was not blocked by the TE like Kelsay. NE is going to pay him a lot less to be a rotation guy than the star pay he got in Buffalo. My issue is Littman and Ralph will not take the salary and pick up another starter.
