  1. Bennett is deserving. Joe Devlin started 180 games for the Bills and deserves it as well.
  2. Boil some water in a big pot and breathe in the steam. Gives a little bit of relief. You might need amoxicillan.
  3. I look at comments like the one by Reggie Bush and think Dansby would be perfect if he would sign an incentive laden contract. The guy makes 100 solo tackles a year and we need an inside backer. The Dolphins have made clear that they want to remake their roster this offseason, and Bush indicated that he was even more surprised that they cut linebacker Karlos Dansby. “Couldn’t believe that one, because he was the leader of that defense,” Bush said. “He’s one of the few linebackers that I’ve actually played against and played with that I think can do it all.”http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/17/reggie-bush-says-the-dolphins-didnt-want-to-keep-him/related/
  4. I am fine with the choice of Marrone. The Bills interviewed a number of candidates who appeared to be interested in the job. Contrast this to the last search when no one wanted the job and we ended up with Gailey. I would rather Marrone focus on interviewing a coaching staff and getting familiar with his new team than an in depth Q & A session. As for who picked Maybin, not sure how this signals anything relative to Marrone's selection.
  5. I thought the guy in the attached link captured some good thoughts about the Barkley slide. I still think he will be the first QB taken. I’ve heard Barkley doesn’t have a strong throwing arm. Who told you that? Was it Phil Simms, because he also said Andrew Luck didn’t have a big-time arm before last year’s draft. I don’t know where people are getting this idea. In fact, Barkley had more yards per attempt in 2012 than Geno Smith, Tyler Wilson, Mike Glennon, and Tyler Bray. In other words, more than all the other quarterbacks I mentioned except Aaron Murray. Why would the USC coaching staff trust Barkley to make the kind of throws that got him a high yards per attempt if they didn’t trust his arm? And even if it comes out in the combine or the Pro Day that Barkley can’t throw it 60 yards on his knees like JaMarcus Russell could (the gold standard of arm strength that didn’t mean a darn thing), he’s obviously got a strong enough arm to get the job done. arrowheadaddict.com/2012/12/15/todd-mcshay-is-wrong-and-matt-barkley-should-be-a-chief/
  6. Kevin Greene of GB might be ready for a DC shot, though he is likely a 3-4 guy. Joe Barry, Pepper Johnson, Winston Moss are due for a shot. A more established name is Romeo Crennel or Rod Marinelli.
  7. He has drafted pretty well. His comments mean very little in December. I have no problem with his banter, he is stating the obvious that we need a QB, does not mean he is reaching for one.
  8. Powerful arm, improved yearly, seemed to excel in two minute offense. Throws too hard at times, needs to put a touch on ball. Tough as nails, got up a lot from huge hits, avid weight room guy. Has worked under Marrone who has pro offense. Nassib will rise up after individual workouts, scouts will be impressed with his ball velocity. I always viewed him as a 3rd round type of QB.
  9. Chan seemed to clash with Todd Haley in KC. My guess is he is too stubborn to give anything up.
  10. J Geils Band, Grand Funk Railroad, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Yes all deserve entry.
  11. - I asked in a different thread and didnt get an answer: why are we so ineffective in short yardage situations when we have a) near pro bowl caliber center, b) quality guards, c) premier running backs? Dont blame Chans fancy play calling, when he call straight up runs, we mostly get stuffed. We have very little blocking from the TE position. A lot of teams put one in motion and hammer open a gap. Chandler is a lousy blocker and usually out on patterns.
  12. Chan's offense did not play on the sloppy field that the Bears and Texans did. Neither team did much of anything afyer halftime. As for last week, The Bills ran the ball 16 times versus Texas, The Bears ran it 23 times last night. Buffalo ran 57 plays in their game, the Bears ran 56 last night. This despite the many more possessions the Bears offense received via the great Bears defense stopping Texans (as opposed to Bills D)?
  13. I think safety has to be a consideration. Wilson is slipping and Byrd may be gone. I like Searcy but he seems to have limitations.
  14. I can respect Fitz for this comment http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extra_points/2012/11/fitzpatrick_on.html?comments=all#comments
  15. Matt Moore is better than Fitzy. He throws a nice deep ball. He isn't going to win a Super Bowl for you but he can throw more than 15 yards which is a start. Moore was great against Buffalo last year in December for Miami. Personally, I say give up what you need to get one of the top guys. Buddy will have to go against type and trade up.
  16. Assuming Ralph is still with us, a retread is likely. Herm Edwards, Marty Morningwhig and Dave Campo fit the MO. If we have to go with experience, I would love to see a second chance type guy that is younger like a Jack Del Rio or Steve Spagnola.
  17. Article illustrates the lack of blitzing by Wanny's D. The following excerpts from an article on new Packers' coordinator Jim Bates offer valuable insights into Wannstedt's defensive philosophy since Bates worked for both Wannstedt and Johnson: The essence of Johnson's philosophy was speed, speed and more speed. He wanted waves of penetrating defensive linemen to fit a one-gap scheme and rotate constantly. He wanted fast linebackers regardless of size at linebacker. And he wanted smart defensive backs that wouldn't make mistakes in a "quarters" or Cover 2 coverage scheme. Those great Dallas front sevens were among the smallest in the NFL but they chased all over the field and gave great effort. Johnson's system started with a 4-3 "over" front in which the under, or three-technique, defensive tackle lined up to the tight-end side and all three linebackers were stacked off the ball. Cornerbacks Larry Brown and Issiac Holt lacked bump-and-run coverage ability in the early 1990s so Johnson had to play them off in "quarters" coverage. The Cowboys' safeties lined up at the same shallow depth of just eight to 10 yards, almost creating a nine-man front and positioning them to jump routes and make interceptions. When run showed, one safety would force and the other would rotate to the deep middle. "We never had corners in Dallas," Wannstedt said. "They weren't even close to Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain, who are as good as there is. Even in Chicago we were always on the conservative side with our corners only because of ability level." Generally speaking, the defenses that Bates was associated with over the last nine years were able to press with their cornerbacks within a "quarters" or Cover 2 zone coverage scheme. "You can't blitz without corners," Wannstedt said. "Everyone knows that. It's common sense. I don't know what Green Bay's situation is but I'm sure that will be one of the first things Jim will have to address. "Let's not make more of this than what it is. It depends on how good your players are that determines what you can do." Still, the objective is to limit blitzing to maybe 20%, stress third down and play smart. "Our mental mistakes were minimal," Wannstedt said. "That was always a focus. Our philosophy always was that we will execute our system better than your offense plays. People around the NFL always said that we did less than most teams but we'd always do it better." http://bluegraysky.blogspot.com/2005/07/know-thine-enemy-dave-wannstedt.html
  18. Pouncey is dead on. Hilarious!
  19. Bullfrog's Sports Cafe 33137 Center Ridge Road in the Clevleand suburb of North Ridgeville, OH http://bullfrogssportscafe.com/ owned by a Western NY family and will be populated with Bills fans all weekend.
  20. The 2012 Super Bowl Champion NY Giants lost their first preseason game last year to the Carolina Panthers and their # pick Cam Newton by a score of 20-10. Things worked out ok for them.
  21. Buddy will be loyal to Florence. McGee ends up on IR a lot so cannot depend on him. Leo is contract year so I doubt they cut him. Maybe they keep em all.
  22. I have watched clips of all three and keep coming back to Cordy Glenn. Big and strong and played very well in the best conference in country. If Floyd is gone, I think he is Buddy's guy.
  23. I think Floyd is perfect for Chan's offense as Kelly ran the spread at ND. He is big, physical, can run after catch. Jeffrey is big and strong as well. Intriguing thought. It's hard to depend on Easley. After making the initial run at Robert Meachum, it's pretty obvious a big receiver is on the menu for Buddy. My fear is Floyd will be gone before the Bills pick.
  24. Aren't you concerned about Reiff's underage drinking and resisting arrest charges from 2 years ago? Floyd isn't the only draftee with a history to overcome.
  25. I love Hightower. All he does is make plays. Buddy is an SEC guy, maybe he is there in 2nd round.
