  1. I think TE helps both the passing and running game. There tend to be good ones in the second round.
  2. Imagine this Bills team without Watkins this year. He immediatley gets the attention of the opponent's gameplan. Revis and Talib draw Watkins, not another receiver. Yet I read here again and again that he is not a difference maker. If he had a real QB and better health, he would be Rookie of the Year.
  3. Marrone will be back. Starting over makes no sense. This team plays hard, physical football and believe it or not the head coach sets that tone. Until the team gets a real QB, the coach be it Marrone or anyone will be challenged to win.
  4. Damn straight! You want to be the best you have to beat the best. or to quote Coach Boone from Remember the Titans: "All right, now, I don't want them to gain *another yard!* * You blitz... all... night!* If they cross the line of scrimmage, I'm gonna take every last one of you out! You make sure they remember, *forever*, the night they played the Titans!"
  5. Denver has won the last 2 games with a strong run game. I hope the Bills blow that up.
  6. Many returners have been rocked by our special teams. More big hits than I can remember.
  7. Not sure Bills can run the ball. The up the middle stuff into Pears backside won't work. It falls on Orton. He has to make a difference in a positive way.
  8. If Giants start a rebuild, Eli might be available.
  9. I sense teams are treating Orton like Fitz in Galley's offense. Sit on the short routes and dare him to beat them deep. He has no time to let deep routes evolve so he dumps it off to checkdown. The throw to Chandler for 1 yard in the middle of the field at the end of the first half may have been the dumbest two minute offense play I have seen by a non high school team. Offense has to be better next 4 weeks.
  10. How about special teams. Some monster hits out there.
  11. I think Orton just wont throw to a double covered receiver. Ryan said in his post game they planned to take him out of the game and Woods killed them. A 35 point win is a good trade off for not utulizing him more.
  12. I liked showing Marrone with no play card in hand saying Doug calls the plays. Announcer said it twice.
  13. Agree with trhis completely. Nice effort.
  14. The Patriots are not allowing pressure up the middle which has hurt them in the playoffs typically to the Ravens. I thought Detroit would challenge them in the middle but they double teamed/held Suh on every play allowing Brady all day to hit the crossing patterns. Defensively, their corners get away with things that Gilmore gets whistled for every week. They are very good but they do get away with a lot as well.
  15. I love the Watkins pick, he is an incredible talent. With 10 days off to help him heal he will be dominant Monday night. Beckham is a smaller receiver. I recall this board was against smaller receivers.
  16. Tim Brown- Number 3 of the WR logjam get in Junior Seau- Hard to argue Orlando Pace- Sho-in of the group Charles Haley- 5 rings Joe Jacoby- Dominant run blocker of the Riggo era Marvin Harrison- shady off field stuff may keep him waiting
  17. Cody Fajardo of Nevada is worth a look in mid rounds. Three time participant at Manning Passing Academy and progressively improved at same school as Kapernick. Duke Johnson of Miami of worth a look as well. TE, I like Jesse James of Penn State if he comes out.
  18. Not a chance they would get rid of Whaley. The guy has flipped a horrible roster and made team competitive. Yes, the team needs to be better in the redzone and the offensive line and QB are not good. At least the list is getting smaller. I do believe Marrone will be asked to replace Hackett if no improvement takes place the next few weeks.
  19. I took away that Preston Brown is really developing into a great player. I thought the McKelvin interception that was reversed was as good a play as I have seen a Bills DB make in years. I took away that Sammy Watkins is a superstar. I thought Kyle Orton's TD throw to Scott Chandler was as good as it gets. After watching all the prognosticators pick the Jets Sunday morning, I felt really good about winning by 20 in their stadium.
  20. Lost in all this is how well the Bills kick coverage was all day. They were downfield quickly on that play.
  21. First down and tackling will be the key on defense. Per ESPN: Chris Ivory had a season-high 107 rushing yards on 21 attempts on Thursday. Most of his damage came between the tackles, where he had 78 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts. On the night, Ivory had 56 yards after contact, his second-highest total on the season. Ivory ranks first in the NFL with 2.68 yards after contact per rush this season.-- Chris Ivory had 10 rushes for 54 yards on first down. Coming into the game, Ivory ranked second in the NFL with 5.75 yards per rushing attempt on 36 first-down rushes. Since the start of last season, Geno Smith's 15 turnovers on 1st down is the most in the NFL ahead of Eli Manning with 14. Geno also has a 55 percent completion percentage on 1st down which is the worst in the NFL.
  22. I thought Jerry Hughes played tremendous today, his best game as a Bill. Dareus was double teamed quite a bit, a testament to his level of play. I am amazed how much cushion Gilmour gives, practically gave away a few first down throws.
  23. Dareus was absolutely dominant. Jerry Hughes was great as well.
  24. Never runs out of bounds, lowers shoulder and hammers defender
