I wouldn't read too much into that statement regarding Shanahan. Ralph can say (or not say) whatever he wants to at this point. I don't think Ralph is going to come right out and give details before a deal is signed. And that signing may very well not happen until after the season is over.

No one, not even Fewell, could possibly think he was going to be the new HC. Lisa Lampanelli would be elected president before Fewell becomes HC next season.

I read your post, and I agree that the Bills should draft a QB. Will they make a good choice, or will they end up with another bust like Flowers or Williams? What does the last 10 years indicate? I would love for them to draft Tebow. But I doubt they will draft a QB and I'm sorry to say that I doubt that this staff will make an intelligent choice, no matter what player or numeric position they draft.

With a few exceptions, this team is collectively doing a really convincing job of appearing to have packed it in for the season. The players and coaching staff know that a lot of them will be in different locations with different occupations next year. Some football related, some not. Does anyone think the Bills will win more than 5-6 games this season? Raise your hand if you do. Yeah, me neither. The season is more than half done, the train has made it over the mountaintop, is heading downhill and picking up speed. Other than hoping for a giant housecleaning, a big name head coach and a huge contract to stay in Buffalo, it's difficult to imagine why most players would want to stay. Cripes, at least make it through the season intact in case another team picks you up. It's fun watching a few of the players who seem to be playing for the sheer joy of it AND have talent, as ridiculous as that might sound. Other than that, it's like watching a Step-on-the-Rake contest every Sunday. "This one's shot, this one's an idiot, this one can't run left, this one is afraid of blue, this one sucks, this one reeks, this one drools...." Spielberg couldn't write this stuff.

No, Jauron is not the whole problem, but his record speaks for itself. Jauron doesn't commit the idiotic penalties, drop passes, throw interceptions or miss tackles. But his coaching staff has the players unprepared, undisciplined and seemingly unmotivated (with a few exceptions). He has a mess to work with currently, but who believes that is a valid excuse for 7 out of 8 years? A HC can be unemotional on the field. Lots of them have and have won Superbowls to boot. But you had better find some way to motivate the coaching staff and the players to perform up to standards. Maybe that's the problem. Jauron just doesn't have high enough standards. I dunno.

Agree that Ralph will keep Jauron the rest of the season. Since there are only 2 "winnable" games left for the Bills (NYJ & KC), they will most likely finish around 5-11. Ralph knows that the fans, who have been screaming for Jauron's firing since last season, will be leaving in droves along with their money if Jauron is back. That being said, if Jauron does come back next year, that does not bode well for the future of the Bills in Buffalo as Ralph would almost certainly be making his exit plan.

Had a Westie years ago. Rescued him from terrible owners. He was a neurotic mess when we got him but he became a great dog. I didn't expect it from such a little guy.

If Trent can get back to the way he was playing the first 5 games last season, we'll all be happy campers. Id love to see it, but I don't think that is very likely at this point.

Does anyone think Vick will take THIS team to the playoffs? I don't. Vince Young WAS bad. He happens to be playing better at the moment.

Max protection and more running should produce a stunningly low score. Who exactly is going to "max protect" Edwards? Is Jauron bringing in the Sopranos?

I agree with respect to paying his debt. Is he an upgrade over Edwards and Fitz? Yes. A big upgrade? No. More of a running threat than a passing threat. Is he going to take the Bills to the playoffs? No.
