Are you suggesting that replacing Edwards, lets say with Wannstedt, would somehow make this defense worse? The Bills won't do it, but they should have in the off season and they ought to do it now. Right now. Put Wannstedt in and get it over with, already. This will be a whole new defense in 3 games, before it's too late in the season to make a difference.

Moore IS an upgrade. As recall, he pretty much single handedly beat the Bills a few years back.

None of knows what is really going on in the meetings, on the field or otherwise. The only thing that seems certain is that George Edwards is the de facto DC unless announced otherwise, which it hasn't. What exactly makes you say that "Wanny's fingerprints are on this defense?" Give me some examples of what this defense is doing (or not doing) that points away from Edwards and directly to Wannstedt. The defense is still getting gouged the same way they did last season under Edwards. Screen passes are still killing them, QB runs are still killing them, running in general is still killing them and McKelvin is still on the field getting his a$$ roasted. A rookie QB in his 4th NFL game ran for a TD, ran for a crucial 1st down to keep their winning drive alive, threw for 298 yards and got virtually NO pressure the entire game when every DC in the league would tell you the key to rattling a rook QB is to put pressure on him. That sounds like George Edwards to me.

That's Fitz in a nutshell. He'll light it up for a few games and then infuriate us all the next. It doesn't help that none of our receivers can outrun defenders, either. None of them are burners.

I'm with you 100%. So far, the Bills are the 2nd worst team in the AFC against the run: allowing 518 yards rushing and 4.9 yards per carry. Against the pass: 3rd worst in the AFC allowing 1,102 yards and 7.5 yards per pass. So George Edwards hasn't shown much, if any improvement. Why Wannstedt is doing whatever it is he does instead of taking control of the defense is beyond me. All I can think of is Gailey's misplaced sense of loyalty to Edwards. Have Edwards coach the Gatorade carriers or something, but for the love of God, get him off the goddam field as DC. He is wretched and Gailey needs to make a change NOW. George Edwards allowed an NFL rookie QB in only his 4th start, to throw for 298 yards, run for a TD and run for a 1st down at THE most crucial time of the game. Every NFL DC knows the ONE thing you do to a rook QB is PUT PRESSURE ON HIM. That point is completely lost on George. He doesn't seem to have the slightest idea of the concept. George must go NOW.

They lost to a team with a rookie QB in only his 4th NFL game who thoroughly embarrassed the Bills defense with his arm AND his feet. And George Edwards, for reasons beyond mortal comprehension, will still be the defensive coordinator while Wannstedt wastes away watching.

You are one of the few who do like George. After his wretched run defense last season and the acquisition of Wannstedt during the off season, I thought it would be a foregone conclusion that Dave would take over the defense. For some unknown reason(s), Edwards is still the DC. Rookie QB Andy Dalton, in only his 4th NFL start, looked like the 2nd coming of Ken Anderson with 298 yards in the air, a rushing TD and a 1st down run that kept Cinci in the game. George's defense gave up 171 rushing yards. George's defensive game plan, if there actually WAS one, is indefensible. Was Wannstedt brought in to fix the D, or to just sit there and watch George continue to be an embarrassment?

Simple. Because the ref thought it was an incomplete catch. And from the replay camera angles, there was NO conclusive evidence to prove that it WASN'T an incomplete catch. Bad call by the ref, bad luck the camera angles couldn't show that the receiver maintained possession all the way through the play. Happens. Sucks. Happened to happen at a REALLY bad time. Regardless, the NFL conspiracy against the Bills continues.

If you change that to "Fire Edwards Now," I agree. Should have been done when Wannstedt was brought in during the off season. Period.

George's defense got run on and passed on by a rookie QB all day long. He made NO adjustments. He put NO pressure on a ROOKIE QB. He is horrible in every respect. My biggest concern with Gailey is that for some misguided reason, he keeps that idiot as DC.

And George Wilson's defense stinks against everyone except KC. He has GOT to go. For the love of God, put Wannstedt in charge of the D and get George the hell out of there. He couldn't adjust his underwear.
