The question is: Would McNabb come to Buffalo? He can refuse, he undoubtedly will refuse and from what I hear, has already said he would not play in Oakland or Buffalo. Ironic: Culpepper WANTS to come to Buffalo and pretty much gets the cold shoulder. McNabb DOESN'T want to come to Buffalo and 80% of the fans are drooling all over themselves.

The problem with a bike is that you are surrounded by completely unaware people around you, driving very large vehicles (Ford Excursion is 8,500 lbs gross weight, for example) and you have no control over what they do or where they go. You can be minding your own business, driving as safely as possible and be taken out by just about anyone at any time. If I lived in Wyoming or North Dakota, I might get a bike again. But sure as hell not in southeast Florida. Your odds are light years better with a jet ski.

When I was 18, I got hit from behind on my bike at a stoplight by a blue-haired lady in a Cadillac (who kept right on going, btw). Never saw it coming. Thankfully, no major serious injuries except for some vertebrate that will never line up correctly again. But I gave up riding motorcycles down here in southeast Florida shortly after that accident.

What a horrible thing to happen. I hope he has a strong support group of family and friends. Stories like this honestly make me want to cry.

My real fear over Govt HC
DrFishfinder replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You are being sarcastic here, right? Nearly for free? The healthcare and insurance companies have the upper hand and we will ultimately get sub standard health care, or significantly higher rates, or higher taxes or some combination thereof. It all comes down to money. Specifically, the profits that the healthcare and insurance companies and their majority stockholders demand. -
Oh come on......does anyone listen to him anymore? Or even pay attention?

The people I have talked with about this, have in principal agreed that changes do indeed need to be made to some aspects of the current healthcare and health insurance industries and processes. But none of the people I have talked to would have voted for this particular bill. I talked with Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Their top concerns (in no particular order) were: Too many backroom deals made (SOS) Cost of Healthcare was ultimately going to increase Quality of service was ultimately going to decrease with the 2nd and 3rd items being mentioned the most. I am concerned that this is a "well intentioned" bill that is ultimately going to get warped and mutated far beyond its original intentions by the 6 words that govern business: It all comes down to money. Make no mistake about this: The insurance companies have the upper hand here. They are NOT going to allow the government to cut significantly into their profits. They will find loopholes, back doors, side doors, tie things up in court for years or simply shut down that which does not meet their revenue goals. Wait until 2012 and see how things look.

Do you use one of those fancy multi bladed razors?
DrFishfinder replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Nope. Finally bought a Phillips/Norelco rechargeable electric and I've been very happy. Got tired of spending $$ every week on what was starting to look like venetian blinds on the end of a stick, plus the shave goop, plus running the water, plus the nicks and cuts. Been there, done that, over it. -
Isn't that just the coincidence of all coincidences?

The Starbucks you get in the store, for the most part, is pre ground and shipped in large bags. The Starbucks whole bean is a lot better. In fact, just about any whole bean is better than pre ground.

Starbucks Whole Bean Columbian. Seattle's Best Whole Bean Blend.

Who is "we"?

I'm tempted to say Schobel, but if I do he will probably retire to spite me.

I'm not sure why the Bills would want to bring back a QB who couldn't cut it here in the first place and is now about 10 years older with hardly any starting experience.

Unless there is an EPIDEMIC of shoplifting, WM wouldn't do that. Doesn't make financial sense. Besides, 45%-65% of theft at WM comes from employees (internal), not external. This is my business and I've been in it since 1998. Here's part of a presentation I did for a client in retail: o In 2008, RETAIL THEFT accounted for over $6 Billion in losses ($572B in sales) from just 22 major retailers in the US o Average Shoplifting Theft: $136 o Average Employee Theft: $970 o Total Apprehensions: up by 7.26% o Total Recovery: up by 21.64% o Nearly 10% loss of retail revenue due to theft • US Chamber of Commerce Report: o 75% of all employees steal at least once o 37.5% of all employees steal repeatedly o 1 out of every 3 business failures is the direct result of employee theft o 20% out of every $1 earned by a US Company is lost to employee theft

What "extra costs"? Virtually every Wal Mart has their own in-store security personnel and enough security cameras to cover damn near every aisle in the store with fixed, PTZ and POS jobs, including the cashiers and service counter. This "extra costs" is complete bull. What's he going to do, hire more security personnel to follow teenagers around in the store? This guy is really out to take you for a ride. I will tell you this: He would get fired if WM execs got wind of his little dealio. Actually..... if you were to contact your local media (TV/newspaper) and tell them about this, I'd give you even money they would be willing to try to catch this guy on camera and blast "WAL MART EXTORTION" all over the news, with Manager D-Bag caught red handed in a pigeon drop. Just a thought.....

Dwan Edwards FAILS two physicals

This guy has major spinal problems. Why the Bills took him is beyond me. -
No. This is extortion, plain and simple. If this goes any further, she should get an attorney and let that person take over.

Insight into Bills draft plans?
DrFishfinder replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do you have Buffalo taking Sergio Kindle at #9 at the War Room? I've spoken with scouts and other personnel inside the bills organization and they told me their top priority is front 7 and more specifically, pass rushers. They need pass rushers and don't be surprised when they draft a dominant pass rusher in the first round. Buffalo's future is certainly bright in the scouting department with Nix and Modrak together plus Doug Whaley, this organization has a bright future as long as they figure out their QB situation, they need to find a QB. I am okay with the Bills getting a real, start-me-now pass rusher with their #1 or #2 pick.....as long as they shore up the left side of the OL and come up with a NFL caliber starting QB. Lord knows they haven't been able to make opposing QB's sweat in about forever. -
