UPDATED: Tim Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos
DrFishfinder replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be very surprised if Jax picked him at 10. He isn't going to replace Garrard as this year's starter and unless he starts or plays a significant amount of time, I don't think that will have much of an impact on ticket sales. I'd like to see him with the Bills too, but the real question is, "at what pick"? If the FO thinks he's the next Kelly and has too much potential to pass up, they'll probably work out some sort of deal to get him in the 1st round. If they're not quite that high on him, they'll try to get him in the 2nd round. I doubt that he will last into the 3rd round. -
I dunno Promo.....being on TBD during every game the Bills lost last season and the following day's B word-a-thon was pretty friggin' miserable, too. FWIW, I'm giving CG the benefit of the doubt. I don't think this team will make the playoffs, but I do think they will be a better coached, better disciplined and better motivated team than the last 4 years. I don't think they will be as gut-wrenching to watch as the last 4 years. At least, I hope not. Play smart, play hard, don't embarrass yourselves, don't give up. Do that and I'm a happier camper.

I prefer a term from an old 3 Stooges film. I think it was Larry who said to Curley, "Old buddy, old pal, old SKUNK BAIT."

Well, talk is cheap but personally, what I'm hearing so far from the new regime at OBD gives me a little more to hang my hat on than the last regime. If they can make good draft picks, put together a solid OL, get the QB situation at least stable, start holding players accountable for their play (or lack of it as the case may be), manage the frigging clock and when they find offensive plays that are working - keep running those damn plays until the other team stops them. I don't expect the Bills to make the playoffs this year. I do have hopes that they will be a better coached and better disciplined team that isn't as painful to watch as most of the last 3 seasons. In fact, this team may start finding ways to WIN games instead of finding yet one more creative way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I guess that's really my wish for this season, "No more embarrassments." Play smart, play hard, play with pride, never give up.

Tiger Woods will return for Masters

It's the slack-jawed, dim-witted public that fuels the vapid media's splattering this giant ball of nothing all over the planet. I hurl in their general direction, too. -

Is there anyone besides me who thinks this is a gigantic, manufactured, giant ball of nothing? Great golfer, no argument there. Is or perhaps could be, the best ever. But look.... He got himself in this giant mess. Actually, he got in a lot of messes. He's been messing around a LOT for a LONG time. He gets caught Disappears from view Checks into a sex rehab clinic, which is such the blatantly obvious PC thing to do, it lacks any validity whatsoever. Makes a public apology which had all the sincerity of a Pauly Shore movie. Even Oprah was shoving her finger down her throat. And now it's THE BIG COMEBACK. It's not like he broke his leg in 4 places, or had a life threatening disease, or had his whole family devoured by Nile Crocodiles......He boinked a whole bunch of bimbos, hung out on his yacht, hung out in a sex rehab clinic for the rich-and-famous (ain't that right....Jesse James....if that's your REAL name), hung out at his mansion(s) and his yacht some more, and NOW........finally.......after all that hanging out and well...more hanging out, he is ready to get back on that manicured grass again and face that penultimate challenge of challenges......... frigging golf. I hurl in his general direction. I really do. -
NY politician says pull up your pants

Years from now? How about "right now." Besides, it would be hysterical to see a "thug" run with his pants like that. Good YouTube stuff when he takes an asphalt face plant. -
NY politician says pull up your pants

Compared to some of the stupid crap that politicians yap about, I am ALL FOR THIS ONE. Penelope Cruz's underwear, yes. Especially on Penelope Cruz. A dude's underwear, no. -
Your brother is correct.

You pray for rain, or at least some cloud cover and a hint of a breeze.

I'm set to GMT-5 auto DST. Strange.

anyone else notice this, or is it me?

No doubt about it that the cold/wet conditions are friggin' miserable too. But you can't even catch your breath and your heart rate goes off the Richter Scale in the heat/humidity, not to mention dehydration. Watch the September games played in My Yami and you see the other teams just have nothing left by the middle of the 4th quarter.....no matter what they do on the sidelines to try to recover. Some guys lose upwards of 8 lbs during a game. I'm amazed no one has collapsed from heat stroke.....yet. Surface of the sun is a very accurate description.
-
The NFL really should have My Yami play away games until the middle of October. Friggin' brutal.
-
August and September are THE most brutal months here. Humidity and temperature are in the mid-upper 90s and NO breeze. Just friggin brutal.

Where do people come up with this stuff?

Remember, this is an Al Davis team we're talking about.

Do you think Gailey can change Trent?
DrFishfinder replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You bring up some interesting points about JP and TE. I would have to chalk it up to 2 things: 1. A putrid revolving door of an OL season after season 2. A coaching staff that kept pushing pudding through a sieve: Mess of goop in = mess of goop out The conservative in me says that TE deserves at least an honest evaluation in the new offensive scheme. If his confidence and decision making are broken, so be it. Cut him & move on. Fitz was serviceable last season and has experience. But that experience is with the previous playbook, so it may not account for a whole lot with the new playbook. The Bills had better have more in their pocket than a guy whose skills are seriously questionable, a guy who is a journeyman QB and a complete unknown. If they think they can get a winning season out of one of those guys this year, fine. But they had better have an insurance policy for next year, in place BEFORE next year. -
Hardly worth talking about a guy who has done just about as much for this team off it as on it.

Rebuild or not? Answer this QB question

It all starts or stops with the offensive line. -
Some stuff I'm sick of reading re: Trent Edwards

I'm guessing Jack Daniels had a lot to do with this. Jose Cuervo would have been a lot more civil. -
For once, this makes sense for the Raidahs. He would be as good a mentor as there is for Russell. I bet Al closes the deal on this one.

My sincere condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. God bless.

Looking more like OL for 1st pick and possibly a QB in round 2 or so.
