  1. 'Cause every time CJ touches the ball, it is a potential to kick a PAT. That's why.
  2. People got their BVD's in a wad because the Bills didn't select THEIR guy. You know.....all these people with so much NFL management and coaching experience. Sigh
  3. STEEEEEEEEEEE----RIKE THREE... You're OUT.
  4. Any QB they take at this stage of the draft is a shot in the dark, not someone they targeted. Don't see it happening at this point. They will probably address the 4th QB spot in free agency or trade, if they want one. Like it or not, Nix & Gailey are prepared to go with one of the current 3 guys. As soon as I hit enter.......sigh.
  5. You mean like Ryan Leaf WOW? Or Rick Mirer WOW? Or Jamarcus Russel WOW?
  6. They're all cranky because the Bills didn't pick their guy.
  7. Or the high grades that any of the other talent evaluators gave him, either. Gruden loves this guy. That's okay. The whiners will STFU when CJ does a jailbreak and starts changing games and changes the way teams defend against the Bills.
  8. Agreed. Nice to see someone who isn't bitching about CJ. Game changer, personified. If we can keep him healthy.
  9. In terms of a shot in the arm to the offense, a CJ is a much bigger shot than a LT. Do the Bills NEED OL? Of course. But CJ has the potential to affect games on a much greater scale than an OL. You don't like the pick, okay. I would have been happy with a stud OL, but I think there is a big upside with CJ. Somewhat risky, but worth it IMO.
  10. CJ has the potential to score on play 1, game 1. And then he has the potential to score every time he touches the ball after that. That's a helluva lotta impact.
  11. First off, I am okay with the Spiller pick. Just to get that out of the way. But.....if they start dumping off to Spiller, he isn't going to last the season given his size and the Bills so-called blocking schemes. Last season, the backs (and receivers) getting dump-offs in the flats were flattened before they took 2 steps. Defenses knew exactly what was coming and DB's loaded up and just annihilated the poor receiver. Yeah, I know it's a new HC & so forth, but unless they have a magic wand and some serious mojo dust, I don't see the blocking improving enough to keep CJ from eventually looking like he got hit with a Harpootlian Disruptor Beam if they send him out in the flat and el dumpo huge-o. So for God's sake, if the Bills took the kid with the #1 pick, lets hope they have enough brains to do whatever they can to keep him on the field and out of intensive care.
  12. And ole Joe (along with a host of others) brought up some solid points. Now....whether or not those points translate to Clausen becoming a top-tier NFL QB, well....that's another thing. If the Bills pick him, I sure hope so!
  13. Thank you for the info. Any insight as to which QB(s) they may target starting in the 2nd round?
  14. I hope you are being sarcastic in that 2nd last sentence, otherwise I can't figure out why you renewed your season tickets in the years after Evans was drafted.
  15. I think he could change the attitude of the team IF..... he becomes the de facto starting QB. If the Bills (or any other team for that matter) pick him and use him in another position or as strictly a wildcat QB option, then I think that effect will be greatly diminished. I would like to see him on the Bills as well. I'm not so certain though, that grabbing him at #9 is in the Bill's plans. I think he slides into a high 2nd round pick.
  16. My sincere condolences, Dean. I wish you peace, serenity and cherished memories of your Dad. That's what I have for my father, the consummate Bills fan, Buffalo Fire Fighter and one of the few people in this world I aspire to be like.
  17. Charlie Batch must be getting REALLY old.
  18. Whew! For a second there, I thought this was a Moorman strike.
  19. A greed. JT is going to make the same impact with the Jets that he did with Washington.... pfffft.
  20. One question I would ask is, "define the federal government." Do people not trust any and all federal government? Do they really know who/what it is that they're not trusting? Do they also not trust city, county and state government? Or is this just a fishing expedition, baited with "government", that is pretty much guaranteed to send people into a conniption fit?
  21. At least the Bills know what they are going to get out of Owens, which is good (but declining) production, tear-your-hair-out dropped balls and questionable effort. Meh. Pull the trigger.
  22. Actually, that's not a bad suggestion about Harrison. Money being equal, I would rather have Harrison than Owens.
  23. There is a dearth of civility on TSW these days. From many people with many points of view. We had a really good discussion on evolution going on and, wonder of wonders, it stayed pretty civil. So it is possible.
  24. I would be tough to cover if I ran around the field all game without the ball.
