  1. Yep, there are question marks, akimbo. But.....bigger miracles have been accomplished with less to work with. Hope springs eternal, even if it kicks me in the groinal region for......what.....the 11th straight year? I don't care. Time to rock and roll, em effers!
  2. You had damn well better have an OL that can open holes for the running game if you're going to run that many times. Have the Bills had that kind of OL recently? No. Will they have that kind of OL this season? Perhaps.
  3. just to continue & see where this goes..... 9. Obamacare 10. Dubya 11. Gobal Warming 12. BP 13. Freddie Mac 14. Bernie Mac 15. Fannie Mae 16. Ellie May
  4. When I was in Spain, I went to this Ranch House outside of Toledo. There was a big patio with a short stone wall (maybe 2 ft high) enclosing the patio. Thick trees all around the edge. I stood on the stone wall to get a better look at something in the distance & take some pics. Walked back & forth along the wall trying to get a better shot & finally gave up. About an hour later, driving away, I looked back up at the ranch house and realized there was about a 75 foot sheer drop, off that 2 foot stone wall I was standing on. I never realized it because the trees had grown right up against it. What I thought were maybe 6 foot high trees were actually the tops of 75 foot tall trees.
  5. Jauron lost the confidence of the players he didn't pick as well as the people who hired him, too. IMO
  6. DJ had a QB who lost whatever "it" was that he had for the first 6 games of 2008 and a rash of injuries bordering biblical proportions. I'm not in the "DJ was a great coach" camp, just for the record. But if Edwards hadn't gotten the sheep dip knocked out of him by Arizona & lost whatever "it" was he had, and the Bills only had 2-3 injuries instead of, what 19+ injuries, who knows how they might have finished in 2008. At 5-1, most "experts" had the Bills winning the AFC East and making a good run into the playoffs.
  7. It's not uncommon for concussion side effects to take a while to kick in. Edwards was never the same afterwards, except for the SD game. As I said before, you can't blame Jauron for all the bad things and refuse to give him any credit whatsoever for the good things. That's just not logical. And I'm no Jauron apologist. The Bills also lost to Cleveland.
  8. Actually, it's not NASA's #1 priority. Obama seems to be making it a priority for NASA. I really, Really, REALLY hope this comes back to haunt him.
  9. I read this the other day. I was honestly, stunned. "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon"
  10. It may very well be time for Ralph to put someone else in charge and step back. Given Ralph's past history however, I wouldn't count on it. The best we can hope for is that the new regime will be an improvement over the last several choices. In 2008, when the Bills were 5-1, if Edwards hadn't started showing the effects from the concussion and the injuries hadn't continued to mount game after game after game, could the Bills have made a playoff run? Most of the sports writers had the Bills as the team to beat in the AFC East. Edwards was rated in the top 5 or 6 QB's in the league. Jauron just was not able to get the team back in the groove once the injuries started piling up. I'm really not sure any HC could have, given those circumstances. For as much as I've criticized Jauron, in all fairness he did have the team playing well for a six game period. The reason I say "he had the team playing well" is because it's not reasonable or logical to dump all the of the blame for the lack of success on him and at the same time, refuse to give him any credit whatsoever for the successes the team did have. My personal opinion is that the FO kept hanging onto the retrospective false hope that somehow, Jauron could recreate the formula that produced the brief period of success. Finally, the FO decided that was not going to happen, cut Jauron and here we are. While in principal I agree with you regarding putting a genuine football guru in charge of the team, the likelihood of that happening is very slim. Still, I think Nix and Gailey are a step in the right direction. I'm realistic enough to realize that's probably the best FO move we're going to see this year and optimistic enough to think the Bills will be a team that NOBODY wants to play by the latter part of the season. Ralph isn't going to be around too many more years. I sincerely hope he gets to be proud of his team, this one.
  11. Looks like it's a little top heavy and needs premium everything. See if you can test it for a weekend, first.
  12. Dunno if that's gonna happen, but it sure sounds good!
  13. Thanks GL. Do I win something? Just askin'.......
  14. Can't take issue with anything you said. However, at this stage of the game, all we have to go on is what the clubs have done in the draft & off season. At this point, on paper, NY and Miami have improved. NE hasn't gained OR lost a whole lot. Hell, things could change dramatically for each club in preseason....a key injury or two to crucial players and all of a sudden a team's outlook could be very different. Henne is no Dan Marino or Bob Griese, but he's no Jay Fiedler, either. Sparano does a good job, but the Dolphins weren't the same team without Ronnie Brown, either. And if Sanchez or Brady go down, neither of those teams is going to ride the backup QB into the playoffs. I think we should wait & see how Chan has the team cranking by 2/3 of the way through the season and reserve judgement until then.
  15. So are you saying that unless the Bills get Mallet, Locker or Luck (sound like a law firm), they won't get any better?
  16. DJ wasn't the whole problem, but he was A problem and arguably, the biggest of them all. He didn't have a whole lot to work with, but he did have them playing pretty decent ball for about 5 or 6 games. However, when the wheels did start to come off, he wasn't able to do much of anything about it and he ultimately lost the confidence of the players and FO.
  17. Boy, I sure hope so. Nothing like reading how the Bills whomped the dog snot out of the Dolphins in the local Ef El Ay rags & listening to the sports commentators whine.
  18. And it doesn’t help that the teams they’re chasing in the AFC East were more aggressive upgrading their rosters in the offseason than the Bills, who obviously needed to do more. The above is a fair assessment. The FO seems to believe they can get more out of the current roster than Jauron & company did. I think they can too, but the million dollar question is, "how much more?" Enough to make up ground against the rest of the AFC East? We'll all have a better handle on that around mid season.
  19. I switched from WaMu to Wachovia about 4 years ago. WaMu was the epitome of "bad service." I could go on for paragraphs in excruciating detail, regaling you with the innumerable ways they demonstrated their utter contempt for customers. One day, I received an expense check from work that was from Wachovia. I went to a local branch and great googly moogly, what a night and day difference. They had me at a window in about 30 seconds, and I am not kidding here.....actually apologized for making me wait. Whereas at WaMu, I would regularly see tellers close their windows and sneer at the 25 people standing in line as they strutted off to pick nose goblins or think up new ways to ignore customers. I've been with Wachovia ever since and have received the same great customer service....I would say 95% of the time, no matter which branch I happen to be at. That being said, I sure hope WF doesn't screw this up because they sure have the potential to.
  20. catnip, perhaps?
  21. Floriduh's finest, at it again........mrrrrroowwwww Cat box fight link
  22. While I understand your point, championships are won, one game at a time. Playing to win the championship is fine as a greater goal, as long as your immediate focus is on the game you are playing right now. Build to win the championship, play to win the game.
