  1. We're Number 1 We're Number 1 We're Number 1
  2. Maybe they should set up a counseling session with Paul & Art.
  3. Heretic! Blasphemer! More posts like this and there would be..... less posts.
  4. I wish more people would adopt that attitude. After all.....no matter how much yapping goes on here at TBD, that is egg zactly what is going to happen.
  5. the "he" referenced here was (God help me) JP....not Fitz.
  6. mmm hmm. Well, those scouting reports and $1.00 will get you a cuppa joe at Mickey D's, no tip. First of all, lets let Chan decide who the starter will be after pre season is over. That's what he was brought in to do and he needs the chance to do it. Second of all, if it IS Brohm, lets see how he does in game time situations, with bodies akimbo and some serious crap hitting the fan. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but there is a lot more at stake here than a cannon arm and headiness. There is improvisation, especially if the OL doesn't hold up and receivers aren't getting open. There is the ability to throw the ball away rather than take sack after sack after sack and lose huge chunks of yards, as just about every QB since Flutie has failed to do. I have no problem with any of the 3 supposed starters, as long as Chan has made the best decision from what he has seen and who he thinks gives the team the best chance to win over the course of the season.
  7. and he was a decent scrambler. Apart from those two things, did he have any other positives?
  8. Unfortunately, the rest of us got what "they" deserved, too.
  9. Hell, lets just rehire the census takers to do a recount & pad the numbers again.
  10. Here's an idea: How about letting Chan put the team though the paces in training camp, pick a starting QB based on the qualifications and experience he was hired for, and then let the damn coach, coach and let the QB, QB for at least 4 games to see how this shakes out? How does that sound?
  11. If someone can prove to me that this would kick the economy into gear, put people back to work and get banks to start making loans to small-mid sized businesses again, I'm all for it. ......waiting........ ...........
  12. Just be careful there.....that cannon arm needs to be connected to some semblance of a brain. JP ostensibly had a pretty good gun, but ..... well ....... no I can't go over all that again......
  13. There's always Bob Dole with a pen. I heard he gives Sharpton panic attacks.
  14. This is cooler than I don't know what! I wish I had some extra jing to donate.
  15. +1 Just because a particular QB, oh.....let's just say Edwards for example.....is at the top of the pecking order going into camp, that doesn't mean that same QB will be at the top of the order coming out of camp. I think Gailey is open enough to do an honest evaluation during camp and give the starting job to the guy that he feels will give the Bills the best chance this year. Now. That being said, Gailey could decide that even though TE might be better right out of the gate, Brohm has the most upside in the long run. So it's possible that Chan may throw Brohm feet first into the fire and be willing to sacrifice the first 3-4 games but banking that Brohm will come out of the baptism-by-fire by game 4 or 5 and be a smoke monster. And I used baptism and smoke monster, so that ought to piss off someone.
  16. Not defending Obama here, but this is pretty much, "Welcome to Politics Part II."
  17. More players than just Whitner are guilty of the above.
  18. Thanks, SDS. I remember TBD from the very beginnings. Spy on the East and so forth. It's come a helluva long way. Congratulations +1. Did you think it would end up like this? In commemoration, to Sysadmins (I'm one too), here is a link to the original BOFH. I think there's a little of Simon in all of us. In my case, a huge dose. Enjoy.... Original BOFH Linky
  19. Looks like one of the Olsen twins.
  20. I don't have any exact or inside information, but there is always the question of "What do you do with that 30% who will now be out of a job?" I would opine that it is probably a matter of the path of least resistance at the gummint level to "keep feeding the monster."
  21. Showing up a the photo op without a jacket, Poindexter Farnworth III covers himself with Malia's bed spread in a disastrous attempt to blend in, only to be skewered by the media as "Tiger's 19th Hole."
  22. A good friend of mine had a long talk with Lawton Chiles (2 time Governor of Florida) a number of years ago. Chiles told him that politicians at that level are so handcuffed with paying back the people that get you elected that it is virtually impossible to get some of the things done that you want to get done and stop some of the things you want to stop. It is simply the way that politics runs. He told my friend about a couple of specific instances where he wanted to get things done but couldn't, and wanted to stop things but couldn't. Sobering stuff. And this isn't a Democrat/Republican issue, it's a politics issue. Sometimes I think the system exists simply to continue to exist.
