  4. Does sound like a nice life, doesn't it?
  5. I thought I was gonna be mentioned in there somewhere. Nonetheless....mankind periodically has a way of giving us hope for the future. This was one of those times.

  7. 8-8 and NOBODY is looking forward to playing the Bills anymore.
  8. My deepest sympathies. May she rest in peace and live in your memory, forever.
  9. Been to both areas several times and love 'em. Wife is embedded here, though.
  10. No way I would even entertain the idea.
  11. Got some interviews going, Mead. A little too soon to tell. Thanks for asking, amigo! I appreciate the links, JJ. I really want to get out of the residential/commercial sales part of it. It's way too cut throat down here.
  12. YAY Depew....my home town!!!!
  13. Well, the company I was working for just laid me off today. They lost their flagship $800k/year account and had to cut expenses. And since it's a family run company and I'm the only non family member in my position, guess what? I have a technical background, CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer-CompTIA), Access Control Systems, CCTV Systems (DVR & IP based), etc. I worked for Modular Computer Systems (Modcomp) for 18 years...real time process control systems. I worked for CASI-RUSCO which became part of GE Security for 6 years with Picture Perfect Access Control. The last 7 years I've been in system design, sales and project management for CCTV (mostly IP now), Access Control and Remote Guarding Systems (VideoQ...and I'm VideoIQ certified as well), plus I know Axis stuff very well. You get the picture. If anyone has any referrals or ideas or help, I would sincerely appreciate it. I'll send you my resume. I need to get re-employed and FAST so I'm not cherry picking. Thanks everyone, PFS
  14. Can't really argue with that, Spart. We're all hoping that the mighty Fitz will be 2-3 times mightier this season.
  15. Beg your pardon, but if Fitz goes down, who is coming in to QB this team? A RT is not going to magically make the Bills competitive. And we haven't had a TE who was anything other than a sham decoy since the position was practically created. It would certainly help if we had a good RT and TE, no argument there. However, my perspective here is if Fitz goes down for more than 1 game, we're in the offensive crapper. As of now, if we lose an OL or TE, we plug in another stiff, the same way we've been plugging in OL and TE stiffs for the past decade. The drop off between starting and backup OL and TE is almost negligible. The drop off between Fitz and the backup QB is off the cliff. From a perspective of a backup player having to come in and deliver, none is more important than QB. We all saw what happened when Levi and Brohm took the field. I'm not saying that the other positions mentioned are unimportant, nor do I think that whoever Nix and Gailey target for B/U QB is going to even remotely challenge Fitz for the starting role. But not having a bona fide QB is like driving from Buffalo to LA without a spare tire: fine as long as you don't need it.
  16. I'm all for upgrading the OL. I just meant in terms of possible season-wrecking scenarios, B/U QB is a show stopper. Not that even an experienced FA QB with zero experience in the Bills offense is likely to lead us to the playoffs..... I'm sure Nix & Gailey have a few QB's pinned on the war board. OL candidates too. Man, I am SO ready for something.....anything...... to get started.
  17. It's one thing to read articles. It's another to actually sit down and talk to company management. How many have you talked to?
  18. You are correct. I have spoken with company CEO's, CFO's and a few other O's thrown in for good measure. They have all pretty much said the same thing: "Right now there is too much uncertainty. Until we have a clearer picture of how things are going to transpire, we are going to hold on to our liquid assets and not spend any more than absolutely necessary." American companies are sitting on more than 3 trillion dollars in cash. For the most part, they are simply unwilling to spend it at this point.
  19. What the Bills HAVE to address in FA is backup QB. They can live without OL and TE, but there is no experienced B/U QB on the team right now. Plus, the FO has said they will be adding one to the roster. I hope that they make B/U QB the top priority once FA opens up.
  20. Ever been to downtown My Yami?
  21. Soitenly! Moe, Larry......CHEESE!!!!
  22. Not a pretty picture, is it? Very few companies are spending any money they don't absolutely HAVE to spend to keep the doors open and lights on. That isn't, and won't, grow the economy.
  23. Close your eyes and hold your breath until 11/6/12.
  24. I agree with you Harv. I think one of us is slipping.
  25. Strange as this is, stranger things have happened. The Bills said they would be going after an experienced FA QB to back up Fitz. And as of now, we don't have an experienced QB behind Fitz. So as much as I'd like to see Tebow on the Bills, this is 180 out. Or, in the words of Shemp Howard, "It don't make sense nohow, somehow."
