"The Bills are not intimidated by the New England Patriots any longer"? Um....was that statement a quote from the Bills Organization or a fan with admirably high hopes? I mean, I'd love to see the Bills knock off NE at least once this year, but sheesh......

Peters needs to show up TO play and Evans needs to show up AND play. Peters is hurting his stock in the league by acting like such a prima donna. Sure he's a very good player. However, he is not the ONLY very good player. How many other teams would be willing to deal with that kind of attitude? Parcells? Belichick? Coughlin? Dungy? I thinketh not, if thou catcheth my drift, and I thinkest thou doth.

Well....the truth is that the Bills haven't had a decent QB since Kelly, with the possible exception of Flutie. Not to mention the putrid O Line Turnstiles of late. Until we get an O Line that can pass protect and a QB that can actually take advantage of that, oh.....and a WR besides Lee Evans, I can't really argue with ESPN's stance. Hopefully, this year's O Line and Edwards will prove them wrong. Hope springs eternal. Or at least hops eternal.

No, but I've bought a mountain of Bills stuff, watched them flush games down the terlet and then contemplated getting drunk and burning every Bills thing I owned. Thankfully, I did neither.

The Bills have adopted a bad habit of losing games they should, and are, winning (Dallas). And they continue a bad trend of committing game-killing penalties, as if the blatant conspiriacy of zebras throwing bogus flags that even leave announcers speechless wasn't enough. Buffalo has to adopt a "Take No Prisoners" approach and start finding ways to WIN games instead of finding ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They need to return to the "Relentless" attitude of the 90's, when JK, FR and company absolutely, flat out refused to lose (Houston). Unless the attitude changes, the results most likely won't, either. The Bills are better on paper, but that doesn't mean much. Dr. Fishfinder's programming axiom is, "All programs work on paper". 8-8 or 9-7 is a realistic scenario.

My reaction is.....START THE REGULAR SEASON! Let's see what Edwards, Lynch, Schonert and company can do.

Excellent points regarding the Colts, Pats and Lions. Preseason is basically for evaluating players prior to roster cuts. "Momentum" from preseason going into the regular season is like throwing an Olympic Gold Medal at a tornado.

Well...you don't have much room for decline when you're 1-15 (thanks again, Ravens). Preseason is over, now reality sets in. Let's see how My Yami's starters do against everyone else's starters for an entire game. Dance routines don't win games in the NFL. Pennington is an upgrade, Williams and Brown, if they aren't suspended or injured, are a good tandem. Ted Ginn Jr., who has yet to live up to the hype, is the only receiver with Scare Tactics. Sparano will have them playing better than Cam "Cam" Camcamcameron but 4-6 victories is a safe guess. Just look at the Bills preseason record during the SB years. Don't put too much stock in it.

Absofrickinloutely. However....winning the H Trophy does NOT guarantee success in the NFL. Lots of H Trophy winners have flopped. Tebow is not a pure QB and if he tries tries to run the ball in the NFL the way he does at UF, he will last about 3 games. Still, the upshot and potential are big.

Don't think the Bills are going to beat the Brady Bunch, but Buffalo should take the Planes & Fish, even with Brett the Jet & Hanging Chad Pennington. Defense should be better, if for no other reason than healthy players. New additions will help. Hardy will be a nice addition, but exactly how much remains to be seen. Schonert ought to be an improvement over Fairchild and Edwards should be in the groove with the offense. Pos should be a force on D. Hope springs eternal.

Most Bills fans would like to believe that Edwards will become a great QB. But even great QB's can have bad careers for a variety of reasons; bad O Line, Crappy Receivers, Lousy O Coordinator, terrible play calling and injuries. Lord knows the Bills have had all of that and more since JK retired. Got two names for you to consider; Ryan Leaf & Tim Couch. OK....three....Rick Mirer.

While Pennington is definitely an upgrade over the previous shlubs, he is no Drew Brees. Loss of Taylor and Thomas will offset addition of Pennington.

When you go from Harrington to Lemon to Beck and McKown, just about any backup QB in league would be a step up for My Yami. The loss of Thomas and Taylor will probably impact them more than the addition of Pennington.

Where was the belittlement? He's not a bad QB by any means, nor did I say so. He and Edwards have some commonalities; questionable (rightly or wrongly) arm strength but certainly poise under pressure, smart player and sound game management. But Pennington is playing for the eternally accursed Dolphins now and thusly and therefore deserves some talketh of the smack as we will be seeing him again, albeit in a different uniform. "Penny"?
