  1. To me this just proves that it takes months of study, practice and play in order for a QB to mesh with the offense. It doesn't matter what kind of arm you have if you throw the ball where the receiver ain't. I mean, Favre was getting tutored after each series for crying out loud. Favre will retire at the end of the season and both he and the Jets know it was wishful thinking on both their parts for this to work.
  2. Amen. That sums it up.
  3. Having grown up in Buff'lo, gone to games at the Rockpile & Rich Stadium and then moved out of state (southeast Ef El Ay), I have to say how proud I am to see the fans at RWS go just frigging bonkers at the home games. The last game I saw at RWS was week 2 of 1988. My dad (who still lived in Buff'lo) met me at the Buffalo airport on Saturday for our annual week of fishing up in Canada. He handed me 2 tickets to the Bills/Dolphins game for the next day. Holy Crap....Bills Tickets...and against the hated Dolphins of all teams! We went together, my dad and I, and saw the Bills beat My Yami 9-6 and I have to say, 20 years later, it is STILL one of the memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Sadly, my dad, who was the consummate, long suffering Bills fan, died unexpectedly 2 months later (he was with the Buffalo Fire Department, Engine 18) and I haven't been able to come back for a game since. I got close in November 1998, but that's another story.... But even on television, to see the team, the stadium, the fans and to know that "I WAS THERE" and am a small part of the heritage of the team, the city of Buffalo and the best fans in the entire field of sports....well it is one of the best feelings in the world. I couldn't be prouder of the team, the fans around the world and especially the fans who fill the Ralph to scream their guts out in suport of the Bills, win or lose. You guys and gals rock. You rock for all of us who wish we could be there at RWS, but can't. You scream for us, cheer for us, cry for us and fill the seats we cannot. You support the team and make Buffalo the best sports city of any city I have ever been to. Keep on rocking! Keep on being the best and most relentless fans, of any sport, anywhere! Thank each and every one of you! You make all of us Bills fans, who cannot be there at RWS, prouder than you can ever imagine and help keep the rest of us, Bills fans for life.
  4. I still haven't heard how the ref's explained that call. Does not dual posession go to the receiver?
  5. A great deal of TD passes are 1 inch away from being knocked down or intercepted. Time after time, after seeing replays, I wonder how in the world the pass got through the defender.
  6. "Get my chin strap outta your belly button!"
  7. The media will continue to suck up to Parcells based on his past, that is a given. The media, at least in My Yami, will eviscerate Sparano the next time his team loses, even if it's a close one.
  8. Pats defense can still keep them in games. This one was an abberation that not even Belichick's covert video goons could sniff out. Cassel probably won't be able to pull a win out of his behind if his team is behind. At least not this early in the season. Perhaps late in the season "if" he improves. Post game Belichick looked like he came to school, forgot it was finals and got beat up by the librarian's assistant. NE was totally unprepared for My Yami's Wildcat scheme. Any other team would have been too. Rusty Manning and lack of Bob Sanders hurts ponies early in the season. They will be back to form by mid year, Manning will shake off rust and Dungy is that good of a head coach. Chargers and Steelers will bounce back. Except for "The Curse of Head Coach Named Norv". No one escapes that mojo. Just ask his former teams. Bronco D is allowing way too many points. Can't expect the Bronco O to keep compensating for that. Neither Vince Young or Kerry Collins is going to take the Titans past the 1st round of playoffs, if that. Sparano is going to have My Yami playing better than last year; he just matched last year's win record by the 3rd game. If he keeps the two headed running back Rickyron Williamsbrown working like yesterday they will have a solid running game to offset no receivers for Pennington to throw to. Loss of Taylor and Thomas not as disasterous as previously thought. Brett the Jet will win a few games with aerial heroics, but by the end of the year will call it quits and wonder why he came back to play his farewell tour in front of a bunch of strangers and not even make the playoffs. Now for something to argue about: What do Bills need to do to in order to stop needing 4th quarter heart-stopping comebacks?
  9. Here is one story from the My Yami Herald. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/miami-dade/story/695058.html The story is the same six words that always make up the story: "It all comes down to money." Now the My Yami politicos want to use "tourist dollars" to finance a new stadium for the Marlins. Really. The Marlins can't draw enough local fans to pay the stadium electric bill and somehow they think that a NEW stadium will bring fans in by the thousands. Annnnnd, tourists, who are fairly unlikely to attend any Marlin games by the by, are going to pay for the stadium.....until that idea gets railroaded out of town and local tax dollars get siphoned off to pay for another big sports venue flopattolah, which should get blown up in approximately....oh lets say......about 10 years from now. You heard it here first.
  10. Didn't our gummint do that with weapons of mass destr......OW....HEY.....OUCH....NO HITTING!!!!!
  11. That on any Sunday, even a bad team with a couple of good players and nothing to lose can give any team fits. Certainly cover the line. That this team can do something that has been missing since the days of Kelly, Reed, Thomas, Smith and Talley; refuse to lose.
  12. What the hell was up with the rest of the team for the first 53 minutes of the game? They looked like they were lost from the opening kickoff. Dropped passes, penalties, no run or pass blocking and on and on. I've gotta say that Edwards is starting to remind me of Kelly's refusal to lose, attitude. I hope these 4th quarter comebacks don't get to be a regular thing, but so far, Edwards sure seems to be the guy you want in there when you need one. One very cool dude under fire.
  13. Remember the attitude of Kelly, Reich & company....where they just refused to lose? Did we just see that again today?
  14. Kudos to Edwards. Ultra cool under pressure. Not to mention the fact that the Bills finally stopped shooting themselves in the foot for the last 7 minutes or so. Whew!
  15. I would think that by this time, the players are "ready to play". Looks however, like they are "ready to play like crap". If they're not ready to play after pre season and 2 regular season games, I don't know what is supposed to motivate them. Stumbling, bumbling Bills for 3 quarters now. Really disappointing. Schonert....where are you?
  16. Oakland has absolutely nothing to lose and are beating the Bills wherever the Bills aren't beating themselves already. Jauron has to to get these guys back on track and he's got 30 minutes to do it.
  17. Thanks! Between channelsurfing and stoogetv, I may be spared the pain of having to watch the Dolphins/Pats game on regular TV. Someone also posted a link to JustinTV a few weeks ago and that worked when channelsurfing.net konked out.
  18. No, I don't. Sounds like I should look into it.
  19. Sorry if I'm duplicating this but does anyone have any advance info about the Bills game on the web? Just had hernia surgery down here in My Yami and can't even go out. Hrrmph. Maybe channelsurfing.net? Thanks....ouch.
  20. Of late, the Bills have had a suicidal tendancy of winning games they're not favored to win and then flopping against a team they should beat easily. I dunno....this year's version of the Bills just might break that habit. Russel is even bigger than Garrard and McFadden had a scary game this past Sunday. If the Bills can get by Oakland, and they "ought" to, I'm almost scared to admit I will have high hopes for these guys.
  21. Au contraire, mon frère. With all due respect to the folks who have (me being one of them), who are, and who will be enduring hurricanes; there are a few upsides.... No more leaves to rake. The ones in your yard have been blown to, oh let's say, South Dakota, just for example. Your car is clean. As in "Pressure Cleaned". Nothing like a 110MPH car wash to make that baby shine. A little dinged up from flying roof tiles and coconuts perhaps, but clean nonetheless. Too bad you left the windows open, though. You don't have to water your lawn for a month. You can catch a 6 lb. largemouth bass in your front yard from what is left of your porch. You get to play with all the cool battery powered radios, TV's, laptops and flashlights and candles and stuff that you spend $1,879 on for "Hurricane Supplies". You get to finally clean out all your canned goods. You do get sick of beans and tuna after 6 days, though. Too bad your electric can opener won't work. Your electricity usage goes way down. Your electric bill, mysteriously, does not. You get to see the stars at night. Lots and LOTS of stars. And boy is it quiet. Except for all the portable generators blatting away...until they run out of gas....which brings me to.... You don't waste gas driving around all day. None of the gas stations have gas, because they've been out of gas since the hurricane was just a couple of clouds off Cape Verde. And silly you put off filling up the SUV while waiting for gas to fall below $10 a gallon. You get a break from all the political hoo hah. You do get lots of hurricane hoo hah instead which believe it or not, makes you actually long for political hoo hah again after about 2 days. McCain, Biden, Obama and Palin are on next year's list for hurricane names. All those ripped screens that your wife has been bugging you to fix, will now be replaced courtesy of your insurance company because they have been blown to, oh let's say, North Dakota, just for example. First you have to get your roof replaced though. You get a new and exciting second and third job to pay for the new insurance premiums, which have increased by some insane logarithmic formula only Steven Hawking could understand. You get a couple of days off work....which is really great until you get so tired of beans and tuna and stars and no gasoline and no electricity and no roof and stifling heat that you contemplate moving to North or South Dakota where you find mysterious piles of leaves and screens as well as Steven Hawking who is busy working on your new exponential insurance premium.
  22. Some interesting things you may/may not have read or heard.... http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/11/beck.palin/index.html
  23. So we beat a crappy team AND the heat!! Hey....it was My Yami.....if we ever go 2-14, as long as the 2=My Yami, I'm okay with that.
  24. They "may" get beat by Jax, but they won't get beat by the heat. That's a putrid My Yami basketball team, fer Chrissakes!
