  1. The most telling stat is Arizona is +109YPG over Buffalo in passing. On a paper field, that equals a TD. Rushing is only about 25YPG in favor of the Bills. Not enough for a TD or FG on a paper field (assuming the team starts on it's 1 yard line in both cases). Admittedly, Arizona's passing stats got skewed last week. If the Bills take the passing game away from Arizona and make them run, statistically the Bills should win. If Arizona sticks with the passing game, statistically they should win. I am NOT a statistician, so factor that in too!
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics + some questionable math.

Like Buffalo's chances if the Bills make them run.
  4. 'Reality" and "Al Davis" have never belonged in the same sentence. Ever.
  5. Agreed. But it was pretty scary in the first half.
  6. Well mon frere, how stupid, indeed? Stupidity and ignorance are 2 different things. Palin may or may not belive men and dinosaurs coexisted. Right now we are getting that information from carefully selected media excerpts. And remember, this year's "scientific proof" can easily be a "scientific joke" 50 years from now. Only a short while ago, the most learned scientists of their day firmly believed that the sun revolved around the earth. We discover things that contradict previously held beliefs. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if scientists one day discover proof that "men" and dinosaurs did indeed, coexist. That is if the scientific community can ever come up with a definition of "man".
  7. Careful....that will get you on a different list.
  8. ....that would require some pass protection from the blitz.....unless I am missing something really obvious here. In the Saint Looey game the only one who paid for the extra pressure was Edwards. The blitz protection scheme was.....well.....it wasn't. I've kept repeating this, but it looked to me like the Bills pass protection locked on players, not position or direction.l
  9. ...but in My Yami, after the accident they shoot you, your passengers, steal everything including your car and then go have another accident.
  10. I am SO with you and your Dad on this. My dad and I got to see the Bills beat My Yami at RWS in Septemer 1988 (I live in My Yami and he lived in Buffalo). He met me at the airport on Saturday with tickets for the game on Sunday. Two months later he died very unexpectedly. He was a Bills fan from the very beginning. I hope my dad and your dad are sitting next to each other! One of these days, I'll have a seat there too.
  11. Agreed about Zona......non conference and non division games tend to fly under the radar a bit more in terms of importance. But the same can be said for the Bills as well. I'll take "Momemtum" for $200, Alex.
  12. ....and an honor that will carry into 2009, if not well beyond.
  13. Well, My Yami can lay claim to Back-to-Back titles for something at least.... Road Rage Capital of the US! Having been to most of the US and many different countries, I have to agree. This is THE worst place to drive, hands down, the possible exception being downtown Baghdad. When you can beat out NYC for road rage, that's really accomplishing something. Congratulations to all the rude, inconsiderate, illiterate, law-ignoring, rule-breaking, refuse to use turn signals, non-English comprehending, me-first morons that make My Yami the worst place to drive in the You Ess of Ay. Let's go for the trifecta in 2009! http://static.cbslocal.com/station/kdka/do...ge%20Survey.pdf
  14. That's a good question. It looked like the Bills offensive blockers locked onto specific players rather than flexing to cover blitzes coming from position or direction. From what I've seen so far, the Bills' screen passes haven't worked well this year because they've used them at the wrong times - when the defenses are set up to cover them rather than in blitz situations. I'd like to see Schonert tweak the play calling to hit quick screens or slants on blitz situations. Hit 2 or 3 of those and the defense will pull back. The Giants do that really well.
  15. We shall see. Edge got nada against the Jets. I think they'll try to run to keep the Bills honest, but I think they'll hit the airwaves in a hurry.
  16. This team could be really great IF (in no particular order): They play up to their potential and not play down to the other team's performance. The offensive line can stand up against the blitz. The pass protection during blitzes was outright bad against the Rams. The O line has to be ready to block whoever is blitzing and not lock onto a specific player. The O Line starts some serious run blocking. Lynch will have 100+ yards/game IF they provide holes. This is a huge O line and they ought to be doing a better job. They don't have any serious injuries to players that can't be replaced at the same, or near same, performance level. The special teams deliver. Our kickoff/punt return teams have been a BIG part of the games. Our coverage teams have got to stay steady and keep teams from scoring cheap points, which they have. Avoid stupid, drive-killing penalties. The Bills have done a good job of that this year, up to the Rams game. Those penalties would spell the difference between a win and a loss in a tight game with a top notch team. Hopefully, that was an aberration in Saint Looey. Hardy steps up. He is going to be a serious threat if he can get separation and pull down passes in tight coverage. It's his rookie season and I don't think anyone expects him to be an immediate impact player. But if he does become an impact player, that will take the heat off Evans, especially while Parrish heals. Josh Reed keeps making clutch catches. He flies under the radar but has been making crucial catches in critical situations. Keep this guy on the team. Fred Jackson keeps on being "Lightning" to Marshawn Lynch's "Thunder". Fast, elusive and more than able to give Lynch a rest when necessary. Keep this guy on the team, too.
  17. Sure sounds better than Cris Carter's drivel.
  18. The offensive line, and Fowler and Peters in particular, had better start doing a better job than they did for the majority of the game against Saint Louis. I think the Bills pass defense is up to the task against Warner. But when Arizona watches the tape of the Rams game, they should know enough to blitz against a VERY suspect Bills offensive line. Good point about losing to an NFC team.
  19. The Bills pass defense had better get ready for an aerial assault. Warner is going to be winging it all over the place. I think the Bills will be up to the task and win it.
  20. Jax & Seattle weren't exactly "nobodies". Both were in the playoffs last year, no? Weren't the Giants written off early last season too? Carter doesn't show any common sense or objectivity.
  21. Keep the mood, but if Fowler keeps playing the way he did yesterday, it is likely to become a more serious problem as the season goes on. Other teams are going to look at the way he got steamrolled yesterday, tee off on him and consequently get to Edwards, which happened more than once during the game. He has GOT to start holding his ground, not to mention getting called for "tripping" of all things, otherwise teams are going to come right up the gut and clobber Edwards. As well, the Bills need to do a much better job of handling end blitzes than they did yesterday. It's fortunate that Edwards survived the pounding. But.....it's 4-0 and all of us are really proud of the team!
  22. Well I am relieved we won, but the way the Bills did it scares the bejesus out of me. I would like to see them play well for the first 3 quarters and coast the last quarter for once.
  23. The front line is getting collapsed by blitzes and the Bills don't seem to be able to compensate at all.
  24. Just putrid so far. inexcusable penalties have killed drives. Fowler & the front line are getting steamrolled. The Rams are looking like 3-0 and the Bills are looking like 0-3. If they don't get their heads out of their a$$es during halftime, this will be embarrassment to the Bills and a job-saver for Linehan.
