Welcome! Buffalo needs receivers. With Parrish out, it's Evans long and Reed over the middle. Hardy is a work in progress and it seems like the Bills aren't throwing much to Lynch any more. Evans had 2 catches in the Arizona game. Yep...2

At Paul Weber's up in Orillia, Ontario. Not really "the" best Cheesburger, but since my dad and I would always stop there on the way up to Lake Cecebe for our annual week of fishing in Canada, it sure seemed like the best because it was the best of times. Here's to you, dad!!!!

JP should have learned from watching TE
DrFishfinder replied to mike6683's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunately, watching and doing don't live next to each other on JP's block. He hasn't shown any signs of breaking the bad habits that keep him from being a starter. If only...... sigh. -

Andre the Giant, the Invisible Man, the Incredible Hulk, Irving Immelman and SuperCaptainCoolMan would get killed behind this OL. Wait....Andre IS dead, isn't he?

....and I have to be inundated with how great My Yami is down here, after they win 2 games. Newspapers, television, radio, obnoxious Dolfans, non-English comprehending drivers, iguanas, spiders, cockroaches and corrupt My Yami politicians are all spewing forth. It's a veritable hurl-a-thon. -
Why, oh why, did we let go of Winfield?

Are we getting out game-planned?
DrFishfinder replied to TrentLeeLynch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the perfect time for the coaching staff to hunker down, study film and come up with both offensive and defensive adjustments. The good news is that the Bills lost to an NFC team and have the bye week to regroup. I'm just as PO'd as everyone else about the Cards game, but let's give Jauron and the staff some credit and see what they come up with against SD. -
In defense of JP, which pains me greatly, it was a thing of beauty. 60 yards in the air.....not sure Edwards could do that. Other than that, JP was mostly the same old JP. If we had world class sprinters for WR's, JP might (I say might) be starting. Did I just write that?

At first look, most would agree that the defense was to blame. And the defense was sliced and diced to be sure. However, it all stars, or ends, with the offensive line. It should be no secret to any team in the league that the way to stop the Bills is to blitz. Someone wrote that there were safety blitzes which couldn't be stopped. Baloney....you can't tell me that other teams don't adjust for blitzes with hot reads and quick outs, not to mention putting in extra blockers by using Tight Ends and Running Backs. Look at the Giants and Patriots, they use both quick plays and extra blocking very effectively. The Bills defense seemed to stubbornly stick to a defensive scheme that wasn't working. That being said, if you don't keep your offense on the field, A) You don't score points (except defensively, which they didn't and are few and far between at best, B) The defense gets worn out and exhausted from being on the field for so much and eventually runs out of gas and can't stop the run or the pass. JP was shoved into a bad situation and played exactly like we've seen him play his whole career. Target the OL as reason #1 and Fewell as a very close #2. If the OL is not up to the task of handling the blitz or opening holes for the running game, Schonert had better ramp up the hot reads and quick outs in one helluva hurry. Burn the other team with a couple of those and they'll most likely back off on the blitzing which should give the Bills offense the ability to sustain drives. Buffalo lost the TOP by nearly 13 minutes against Arizona. Rarely will a team win a game under those circumstances.

Springsteen Endorses Obama

....and Springsteen's political affiliation is about as newsworthy as which toothpaste he uses. The importance given to which party/candidate a particular show biz personality endorses is nauseating. -
Henry could face life in jail

He made his own bad decision(s). Every decision has consequences and Henry is suffering those at his own expense. -
One loss and the Bills don't exist?
DrFishfinder replied to Drey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Until the OL can hold up against the blitz and open holes for the running game, every game is likely to be a nail biter. Let's hope the defensive collapse was an anomally. -
There is more to this loss then people want to see
DrFishfinder replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It all starts, or ends, with the offensive line. If they pass block and open holes for the running game, the team will most likely win the TOP and most teams that win TOP win the game. Buffalo's OL has not played well this year. At least not consistantly. Their inability to protect the QB from blitzes would get anyone killed. Their inability to consistantly open holes for the running game forces the passing game. Buffalo's passing game is Lee Evans long and Reed on shorter patterns. Buffalo's blitz all but disappeared against Arizona. This team needs to learn how to adjust, especially defensively and that falls on the coaching staff. Until the OL can demonstrate that it can hold up against the blitz, we can expect to see a lot of that against the Bills this year. That could make for a very tough remainder of the season. -
With all due respect, I don't think that was the case at all. I don't think that any DC in his right mind, would want his defense to stay on the field for long periods of time. Especially away from home, with a backup QB and having to come from behind to win.

The Bills lost the TOP by nearly 13 minutes. Once Arizona was up by 14 points, Buffalo could no longer afford to play a posession-ball control game. JP has a tendancy to A)Hold onto the ball too long, and B)Look for the deep pass, which plays into his arm strength. Great arm, as in the Evans bomb, but after a 14 point deficit, the Bills had to put points on the board in a hurry, especially the way Warner was marching the Cards downfield. JP's strength isn't a ball control offense, it's quick strike, deep. Arizona's defense took that away and their offense just outplayed the Bills' defense and Fewell.

Don't blame the players blame the coaches...
DrFishfinder replied to kota's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One quality the defensive coaching staff must have is the ability to adjust and take away or at least offset what is working for the opposing offense. I didn't see much, if any of that, in the game. Warner, for the most part, was blissfully passing away like it was a non-contact scrimmage. I didn't see much evidence of Fewell making adjustments to the defensive alignment to either put pressure on Warner or apply tighter coverage to the receivers. It seemed that the Bills felt their defensive scheme would work if they just stuck to it. Instead, they got stuck. Even if Edwards had not been injured, the defense allowed way too many points and lost the time of posession by nearly 13 minutes. Not too many teams are going to win a game under that scenario. -
Everyone on NFL Today picks AZ... WTF??
DrFishfinder replied to JB_55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sort of ironic that the 4-0 team is an "upset" pick. -
The game is listed on www.channelsurfing.net (both video and audio-only). You can also go to www.stoogetv.com and the link will be posted on the message board on the right, about 5 minutes BEFORE gametime. Enjoy!

Lawrence Phillips--Remember him?

Well raise my rent and call me broke! I had always heard the term "Bosnians". Guess I should remove this topic, huh?

I know I heard Gov. Palin say "nuculear" about 6 times, but didn't Biden refer to Bosnians as "Bosniacs"?
