The reason we don't have a consistent pass rush is that Fewell only calls it twice a game. At least that's the way it looks.
-
Agreed. Commentators always make a point out of telling viewers that Buffalo's OL is the tallest and heaviest in the league. You wouldn't know it by the way they continually bunch up and fall down like bowling pins. I'm sure Lynch has missed some holes, but by the same token, the OL isn't opening a helluva lot of 'em for him to miss.

Then someone is going to have to convice Fewell to blitz more than 2 times a game.

This Board is Completely Bi-Polar
DrFishfinder replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. What troubles me though, about this game and the Arizona game, is Fewell. In both games he was either incapable or unwilling to make changes to the defense, to stop or contain what was working for the other offense. This was just a bad day for Buffalo's offense and that is going to happen to every team during the season. When Buffalo's defense is working against an opponent, that's one thing. But when teams like Arizona and Miami have big offfensive games, Fewell has shown little or no ability to make changes to the defensive scheme. Miami's receivers were WAY too open, WAY too many times. Let's remain cautiously optimistic that Fewell will learn to make adjustments to his defense. That's what elevates a defense from good to great. -
Especially running up the gut every time. How about a pitch out or at least SOMETHING/ANYTHING different?
-
Chalk Ginn's numbers up to Fewell. If McGee couldn't cover him, then Fewell should have at least "attempted" to make SOME sort of adjustment to contain him. I sure didn't see any, and as far as I am concerned, that falls into Fewell's lap. Same thing with the game against Arizona.

What's the opinion of Miami now?
DrFishfinder replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Miami is a bit of a schizophrenic team at the moment. They are beating teams that they should lose to and losing to teams they should beat (sound familiar?). Sparano has them more disciplined and Pennington has been a big improvement over the last batch of QB's. They aren't deep in talent, but Fewell's defense allowed Ginn Jr. to have his "coming out" NFL game and that is troubling. Ginn has been a non factor up to this point and Fewell had no answers for him the entire game. I repeat, the ENTIRE game. Credit is due to Sparano and Henning (as much as it pains me to say it) for calling a solid game plan and credit is due to Pennington and Ginn for executing. Take away the big yardage from Ginn and their field position changes completely. Miami's running game was not a factor. The Bills played poorly in terms of not stopping Ginn, committing turnovers, penalties at crucial times and dropped balls. Miami played consistantly enough and had big pass plays at crucial points. Hard to win a game under those circumstances. Tighter coverage on the receivers and blitzing Pennington more may have changed the outcome of the game, but that didn't happen. Let's chalk this one up to a sub par performance by the Bills and a well executed game by Miami. One thing you CAN expect from Miami is a more disciplined team with better execution. They still don't have a lot of talent and teams CAN keep Brown & Willams from chewing up yards and time. The Bills may have come into this game over confident and with good reason to feel that way based on the last few years VS Miami. Let's see what the Bills learned from this game and what happens when they meet again. -

BILLS - PHINS NOT THE SAME ANYMORE
DrFishfinder replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The "rivalry" was at it's best when Kelly and Marino were playing against each other. Today, Miami is trying to keep from being the worst team in the AFC East and Buffalo has established itself as the front runner for the AFC East. You may have a point about teams being good to make it a rivalry. More than that, teams have to be fairly equal with each other to have a rivalry; bad equal or good equal. Me....I want to see a 42-3 rout. I just love the sound of Fisheads whining on Monday morning. -

You, me, Homer Simpson and every commentator and analyst who has watched the Bills have all seen irrefutable evidence that the OL gets the turkey for no push and very few holes to run through. Perhaps Lynch could be doing a better job, but wihout any openings to run through, I don't see how.

Most definitely agree with #4. In my business, if I have more capital to work with, I will reinvest it in the form of marketing, goods and employees. The more I have, the more I spend. Nail me on taxes and I will have to cut back. -
The Bills played a very, very solid game in almost every respect. The run blocking still needs to improve, but other than that, this team has heart, talent and seems to play relatively mistake-free with TE at the helm. The glass is 1/2 full.

Expect him to not be missed much.

Could someobody answer me this question

Obama has practically inferred that Bush and McCain are one and the same. I actually like McCain's response to that a lot. Makes me wonder.....if Obama is so disgusted with Bush, why DIDN'T he run against him 4 years ago? -
My Yami is talking with non-playing Ty Law about coming on board. Miami talking to Ty Law Seems as though Law (34) has turned down offers to play this year and has been waiting for a deal he likes. He played for the Pats for 10 seasons.

The Bills will certainly beat the Chargers .....

Has he done it so far this year? Why not and what needs to change? -
That's about all JP has demonstrated he can do in the passing game, unfortunately. If our receivers could get behind the coverage on a consistent basis AND the OL could pass protect, things might be different.

Miami Herald: Fins playoff talk is premature
DrFishfinder replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Let the whining begin!" My Yami got a dose of their own hijinks when Schaub plopped into the endzone. After beating NE and SD, they lost to an 0-4 team on a QB sneak. I just love reading the My Yami Herald sports section the day after a Dolphins loss. It just makes my friggin' week. -
