  1. "Since we blitz so much"? Have I been missing something?
  2. Barack Obama was elected largely due to the fact that the majority of the US population is so fed up with the way things are that they would have voted for nearly anyone who was the Democratic Candidate. People want "change" without realizing that change for the sake of change is not necessarily a good thing. Things can "change" for the worse just as easily as things can "change" for the better. In other words, "Be careful what you wish for". Dont ever say, "Things can't possibly get any worse". Obama repeated that McCain represented the last 8 years and McCain wasn't able to convince voters otherwise. It remains to be seen if Obama can live up to his promises. I do hope that he can steer this country to better times.
  3. You are so right. It all starts, or stops, with the offensive line. And this line can't do any of the 3 things an offensive line has to do; pass block, pick up blitzes and open holes for the running game. They are tubs of lard.
  4. The offensive line is where it all starts, or stops. This one can't pass protect, pick up blitzes or open holes for the running game. That means the team has to throw the ball a greater percentage of the time. Third down percentages being what they are, that means the offense goes off and the defense stays on the field for longer and longer periods of time. Even though the TOP was virtually identical VS the Jets, they ran an 8+ minute drive in the 4th quarter to seal the game. Buffalo should have won the game but didn't based on costly mistakes and gambles that didn't work. But you can see opposing defenses pinning their ears back and teeing off on Edwards. There's no running game and since the pass blocking and blitz pickups are so awful, Edwards is a sitting duck if he takes more than 3 seconds. You'd have to ask Schonert about "C".
  5. The defense lets NY stay on the field for an 8+ minute drive that puts them up by 2 scores and they're not bad?
  6. Oh sure.....go around carelessly making sense at a time like this. Sheesh.
  7. God....I hope you're not trying to cheer us up or anything (looking for the punchbowl).
  8. I think what hurts so much is that (for this year's Bills anyway) when a team show SO much promise early in the season and then goes back to falling face down in the mud, it's like falling off the same old cliff, except from a greater height. Same cliff, same fall, same landing spot, hurts more. So. Whatchya going to do? Stick it out or jump ship like Mr. Now-I-Love-The-Titans? Hope springs eternal. Me? I'm a Bills fan. (And I proudly display the scars that prove it)
  9. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that if the defensive coordinator doesn't call for blitzes more than 2 times a game, your sack count isn't going to be a whole lot. Actually, I didn't mean for that to sound so sarcastic. It really looks like Fewell has called the dogs off.
  10. The Bill's offensive line can't pass protect, pick up blitzes or run block. The defense is getting dinked and dunked to death and can't (or won't) generate a pass rush. That's about as obvious as you can possibly get. Every team the Bills play will key in on those things until something changes to make them stop. This team can play better and they have played better. The Bills staff had better address the two aforementioned issues or the rest of this season is going to be painful.
  11. And the once great San Fransisco 49ers have been stinking up the league for how many years now? The Raiders reek, the Rams reek, and the Indianapolis Mannings are mere mortals. It ebbs and flows. Perennial powerhouses and whipping boys trade places every few years thanks to parity and finding diamonds in the rough. I don't believe that there is such a great drop off in talent between the Bills and the Titans (for example). For the most part. NFL calibre players are on a fairly even keel. I agree about coaching and you've probably hit the nail on the proverbial head. I'd like to see some fire and smoke come out of Jauron's head once in awhile. I'd like to see Fewell do something (i.e. anything) to make adjustments to the defense when it's getting torched. It's a big hit when your starters go down, but it's up to the coaches to have the backups ready to rock and roll. We've replaced the offensive line personnel how many times now and still can't get a group to pass protect, pick up blitzes or open holes for the running game. It's not all the players fault and even if it is, who the hell brought them in in the first place? Start benching players for poor performance and ship them out if they don't improve. And tell them that during halftime when they're playing like crap and committing idiotic penalties. Tell Fewell if he has the defense doing the same thing over and over and expects different results, he can expect the only real result will be geting fired. If you owned a company and your management and employees did a crappy job, what would you do? Keep giving them paychecks for doing a crappy job and expect different results? I thinketh not if thou catcheth my drift, and I thinkest thou doth.
  12. Does anyone have faith in this offensive line? Should they?
  13. I respectfully disagree. Way too many points scored against this defense by the last two teams we faced, annnnnd were favored to beat. I don't think it's as much a lack of talent as it is Fewell's seeming fundamental inability or unwillingness to make adjustments to the defensive scheme.
  14. Are you satisfied with the way the defense has played the last 2 games?
  15. Answer: Keep on doing the same thing and expecting different results. Question: What is Fewell's defensive philosophy?
  16. Sacks? The word "Blitz" is not in Fewell's vocabulary. Either is "adjust".
  17. Fire Fewell. He is the one responsible for the defense continually getting torched and not making any changes to stop it.
  18. Chalk this loss up to Fewell's inability or unwillingness to make any defensive changes and the offensive line's inability to produce any kind of a running game. My Yami and the Jets dinked and dunked us to death and Fewell did nothing to stop it.
  19. They have taken a big step backwards, to be sure. Fewell isn't making any attempt to change the defensive scheme when the Bills are getting ripped with the passing game and the offensive line, which is where it all starts, or stops, is just ponderous. They couldn't even make a 6 inch push on 4th and inches. This team is not showing the ability to make any changes on offense or defense and that does not bode well.
  20. If you're referring to the putrid offensive line, I agree. Can't even get a 6 inch push on 4th and inches, for crying out loud. It all starts, or stops, with the offensive line and right now, it's stopped dead.
  21. Fewell's defense is getting shredded. Again. Fewell's not making any f&%#ing changes. Again. The offensive line can't even get a 6 inch push. Again. What the hell is going on, here?
  22. It's baffling the way Fewell has pulled back on blitzing, especially since it worked so well against Seattle. Just f'ing baffling.
  23. I think Fewell is the reason for the anemic pass rush. How many time have you seen the Bills blitz per game this year? If Fewell doesn't call the blitz, it most likely isn't going to be called by the defense on the field. Fewell's defense is fine when they're crusing along in a game, but you take the Arizona and Miami games, when the D was getting ripped up and what did Fewell do to adjust? Close your eyes and what do you see? That's right.....nothing.
  24. "May" have? Yeesh. He's either toons or putting on the best act ever. Have you seen him on Smoking Gun?
