Jauron can't manage the time clock, let alone an ego of Owensian proportions. If they return to the Bickering Bills and make the playoffs, I'll be estatic. I was at the old Rockpile downtown....I remember.....

Ralph and FO deserve some credit...
DrFishfinder replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know who the real brain trust was behind the TO move, but at least Ralph spent the jing and the team is doing something to improve the missing link on offense. At the very least, this will take the double coverage off of Evans, and that alone ought to improve the offense. Not the perfect choice, but then again, there wasn't a perfect choice out there. Offense is immediately improved, even if they return to The Bickering Bills of the 90's. I am actually looking forward to this season, when I didn't think that was possible! -

I think you're wrong about that. I think Trent will finally have an outlet he will want to go to. I think the double coverage off of Evans will finally improve Buffalo's non-existant deep ball game. Either Evans or Owens will be open and the Bills haven't had the opportunity of having 2 legitimate deep WR's since Nixon was president. -

All time biggest draft or free agent busts
DrFishfinder replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Monumental bust for the Bills anyway, given the (in)famous playbook scandal. I wonder which Burger King he manages these days. -
Team divisiveness. That is the LAST thing this team needs right now. At least they are united.... behind a crappy coach.

Well, if you're searching for the sword that the Bills can use to finally commit Hari Kari, then I guess TO would be one of the better choices. At least there is cohesion on the team at this point. It's unfortunate that cohesion is in the form of support for a crappy head coach, but to look at the bright side, at least it's not the Bickering Bills. TO's divisiveness, selfishness and egotism is overly documented, if anything. His best playing days are clearly behind him and the only positive he would bring, would be a very short stop-gap stint at WR until he gets his BVD's in a wad about something and his antics and tantrums start infecting and dividing the team. This team can't survive that. If that were to happen, the Bills could very well end up as next year's Detroit. I would look at signing TO as strictly a marketing ploy, to bolster what will almost certainly be, declining attendance at home games this upcoming season. Nothing more. Just remember these 6 words: It all comes down to money.

Considering the Talent

Bingo.....dingdingdingding! We have a winner. Either: 1. Fewell was calling Blitzes and the defense was SO bad, you couldn't even tell or 2. Fewell called 1 Blitz per game. Maybe two if he was feeling dangerous. I'm going with #2. The defense looked better than the year before, but at the same time, gave up huge yardage (Denver, KC) as well as letting teams crank off 7, 8 and 9 minute stake-through-the-heart drives in the fourth quarter. However, after the giant nose dive at 5-1, the Bills rarely even attempted to even distract the opposing QB's, let alone pressure or God forbid, sack one. Every opponent knew it. Maybe Fewell didn't think he had the personnel to effectively blitz the QB, and perhaps, just perhaps, that is true. But either way, whether it's Fewell or the players, the Bills need to get that fixed next season. -

When the team is finally sold and the smoke settles, things will change. Whether or not they stay in Buffalo is the million dollar question. Can't say I disagree with you on your decision. The team has been in disarray for years, with no real end in sight except for new blood via the sale of the organization. If you lived closer by, I would have been inclined to disagree with your decision, but you don't. I think there will be a fairly high amount of fall out from keeping Jauron and such inactivity (so far) in free agency. But it seems to come down to $$ for Ralph and as long as he's not going bankrupt or at least losing large sums of money, I don't think he looks at it as anything other than a business at this point. I hope you still watch the games and keep on posting. And stay a fan. -

Dennis Rodman would. Maybe 2. -
I'm interested to know, what part of Hardy's play, up until the injury, makes you say that? He was for all practical purposes, a non factor, ran less than average routes and routinely droped catchable balls.

So the general TSW feeling is no matter what we do
DrFishfinder replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What does anyone expect? The Bills resigned their hapless 3 x 7 & 9 coach, haven't made any serious attempts (yet) to improve at TE or WR to kick start the offense and the murderous 2009 schedule may as well have put together by Osama bin Laden. 90 year old Ralph Wilson is on borrowed time and his family will have to sell the Bills because of taxes, so everyone is on pins and needles about losing the team, outright. I'll dust off my rose colored glasses if I missed the optimistic parts. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. That said, I have been (from the very beginning), am, and will always be a fan of the Bills, as long as they are the Buffalo Bills. But that doesn't mean I get all goopy eyed and see diamonds when I'm looking at lumps of coal. I doubt the Detroit fans were very optimistic at the start of the 2008 season, either. -
If the Bills don't get a legitimate WR to take the heat off Evans, they had better get one helluva TE because he will be the open guy, not Evans. Evans is going to get real tired, real fast, of running 6-8 yard slants and getting his ass handed to him. I would expect him to demand a trade at the end of next season if that's how it plays out.

Getting suspicious based on FA visits...
DrFishfinder replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I suppose. But holy crap, doncha think Cutler would energize this team and the fans again? I'm not a TE basher by any means, but I would take Cutler in a heartbeat. That being said, we're going into the mouth of the lion next season with (at this point) no real TE, no WR to take the double coverage off of Evans. tweaked OL, no Greer and, of course, Dickie the J. At least Cutler would give the fans something to hang their collective hats on and erase all doubts about the QB being capable of throwing the long ball. Might even entice a top rated WR to come here. Oh well......(poof) -

FO whiff, coaching whiff, scheme whiff....does it really make any difference at this point? Sort of like a vanilla sundae with wiffed cream?
