  1. Yep. This time, when I flap my arms, I'll fly to Paris.
  2. Would you agree with this: Good musicians + bad conductor = crappy music? Good car + crappy driver = bad race? As has been pointed out time after time after time, if the triumvirate of Dickie the J, Snert and Fewell do NOT improve their performance from last year, in terms of coaching, play calling, flexibility and clock management, then it is unlikely that the results will be any different than last year. Period.
  3. Holy apocalypse, Doctor Doom. You are ONE depressing person. Me? I choose hope. Doomsday prophets have been around for centuries. Yet, the human race, with all its defects and foibles, has managed to persevere. Yes, there are lunatics who are willing to annihilate others as well as themselves, for misguided causes. But there are, and always will be, more people who are ready, willing and able to preserve civilization and humanity. A state of chaos? How many states of chaos has civilization endured and survived since mankind dragged its collective knuckles across the primordial ooze? Your opinion "that we are in the end of times" holds no more weight now than that exact same opinion held 200, 300 or 500 years ago. I do not disagree that some very serious problems are facing us. However, I can tell you this: I intend to look for ways to solve those problems, improve things and persevere.
  4. No more Mexican take out for me.
  5. Oh, for crying out loud. Is there no end to this absurdity?
  6. And I hope you're right, I really do. But if you subscribe to the "this time, it'll be different" philosophy, you are more likely to see the same results than you are to see different results. If this past year was DJ's 4th or 5th season as HC, it might be looked at a little differently, but it's not.
  7. If "one of the most under rated coaches in the league" means 7 out of 8 losing seasons, then yes, he is underrated. This has been beaten past death, brought back to life and beaten again. He can have all the respect in the world but the fact remains he is NOT a good head coach and his record over 8 seasons and specifically, last season, prove it beyond any reasonable doubt. He is NOT a good HC. Period.
  8. I'd rather we trade for Wisenhunt.
  9. Good car + Good Driver + Crappy Pit Crew = Bad Race
  10. Three things for you to consider: 1. Dickie the J 2. Snert 3. Fewell Still feel the same way?
  11. And that would be another news bite.
  12. The question should be: "How many points will this offense score per game"? The so-called coaching staff consistently squandered scoring opportunities last season. And the same so-called coaching staff is back, intact, for this season.
  13. Great news bites to take everyone's mind off of the economic pandemic. How many people have died of this flu in the US? Um....zero. How many people in the US died today of poisoning? Over 23.
  14. OK, lets take the briefest of moments to analyze this...... Same HC, same OC, same DC........ Mmm Hmmm.....I would expect completely different play calling. Not to mention newly discovered clock management skills and motivational abilities.
  15. OK....you're gonna make me get serious here, if only for a minute..... I would be a lot closer to agreeing with you if: TE didn't regress during the 2nd half of the season While the OL did a better job of pass protection during the 2nd half of the season. It seemed that TE and the OL never got in synch last year. During the first 5 games, TE was in the top 5 rated QB's in the league. And the offensive line STUNK. Just fricking rancid. The OL really came around in terms of pass protection the 2nd half of the season, and TE tanked (such as the Cleveland game). If, and it is a big IF, especially considering the so-called "coaching staff", the OL can continue to pass protect the way they did in the 2nd half of the season, and TE can return to the form he showed in the first half of the season, then we've got something. But I gotta warn you, no matter how good the musicians are in the orchestra, a bad conductor can make 'em sound like crap. Happy Analogy Day.
  16. Don't forget to take into account, the crack (pipe) offensive play calling that wowed the NFL last season. Between Dickie the J, Snert and Fewell, I would rank those coaches right up there with Moe, Larry and Curly Joe (no....not Curly OR Shemp). The Bills are going to win games in spite of the coaching staff, not because of 'em.
  17. Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimmy Page can't (couldn't) read music. Pretty good company.
  18. When and if you get to be 90, and if you were worth what Ralph is worth, you would most likely be thinking about your estate and family.
  19. When did ground beef on a bun become a "hamburger"?
  20. He's no rocket scientist, that's for sure. But a lot of the great blues players couldn't read a lick of music, either. That, in and of itself, has no bearing on his talent. In fact, it's unlikely that learning to read music at this point, would have little if any effect on his playing ability. My wife can read music, but she plays like Haystack Calhoun. (I categorically deny ever having said this).
  21. Dick Jauron will be owner AND Head Coach of the Bills. AIEEEEeeeeEEEEEeeeeEEEE!!!
  22. ....sigh.... Ahem.....this is a business and Ralph is a businessman. That is and always will be, priority number 1. All other priorities in regards to the quality of the product, are lower priorities. Does Ralph want to put out a better product and return to the AFC Championship form of the 90's? Of course. At 90, with the team leaving his family and potentially leaving Buffalo after his passing, is Ralph going to pay for a proven HC and marquis players to come in and turn this team into a top tier club? Well, in the last 9 years he's had to do it, has he? As long as Ralph can do what he's been doing and spend what he's been spending, while keeping the cash flow from his team at acceptable levels, the last 9 years should be all you need to understand that "business" is priority 1, and "winning", while undoubtedly a close second, is priority 2. Spending a lot of money and bringing in a top HC and marquis players to potentially turn this team into a championship caliber club would be more likely if Ralph was in his 50's or 60's or perhaps 70's. Not at 90. This is a transitional period for the Bills organization. Ralph is at the end of the journey. Nothing major is going to happen until the torch gets passed to the new owner(s). I just hope that the new owner(s) keep the Bills in Buffalo and are capable and willing to spend the money necessary to bring the team back to championship form.
  23. That was certainly a turning point. Whether it was the whole kaboodle or not, it was definitely the kit. Also, after Levy retired, it was a succession of failed experiments at HC. The loss of Kelly, Thomas, Reed and Bruce didn't help, either. The team never seemed to regain the same cohesiveness it had under Levy.
