  1. You have a point in your last sentence. However, I disagree regarding gameday management being a minuscule part. Screw that up and the chances of winning a game go down dramatically. Those things may be a smaller part numerically, but are of utmost importance during "showtime".
  2. Agreed 110%, as was so painfully obvious last season.
  3. Not to mention the faclt that Shot would almost certainly come cheaper than the others. That would appeal to Ralph.
  4. I've always had a serious issue with DJ's motivational and decision making abilities. Bum Phillips once said about Tom Landry, "He can take his'n & beat your's, then take your'n & beat his'n". That is a coach who can get more out of his players than anyone else can. We haven't had that since Levy. I'm not sure DJ could coach water to go down a drain.
  5. Then Holocek was more responsible for the Bills win, no?
  6. I have no problem with that, whatsoever. Buy what you want, where you want, from whom you want. Free country.
  7. I think you may be wrong. First, with the draft and free agents, not to mention yet another 7-9 clunker by DJ, there is enormous pressure for this team to live up to the potential of the 5-1 start last season. Ralph may have one more (or last) trick up his sleeve, which would be to start negotiations with a top tier HC if the Bills are tanksville at the half this season. If, and that's a big IF, that is the case, you may find Dickie the J gone before, or at least by the end of the season. Or maybe my rose colored glasses are on 10 today. I dunno.....
  8. Jauron does not win. No Head Coach "wins". It is a team effort comprised of the players playing and the coaches coaching. In most cases, both parties need to be running on all cylinders. However, there are times when a win (or loss) comes in spite of either coaching or playing. Trick play called by the coach or superhuman effort by a player, for example. Fans are fed up with year after year of sub mediocrity and they're taking it out on what they consider to be the most responsible cause: DJ.
  9. I don't think anyone is realistically denying that Jauron doesn't do anything right. The fact of the matter and history proves this beyond any shadow of a doubt, is that Jauron has a consistently losing record over 8 seasons as a head coach with 3 different teams. You read that any way you want to. To expect that all of a sudden, he will start winning, is ..... well......
  10. These are all further reasons for the NFL to continue their nefarious plot of Conspiring Referees Against the BillS, or CRABS. You just gave them 7....er make that 6 more rounds of ammunition.
  11. If that first sentence was true, he wouldn't have a 5 year combined record of 7-9 at Chicago and another 3 years of the same thing in Buffalo. Unless of course, you accept that Jauron had nothing but crap to work with for 7 out of 8 seasons. Saying that "his players succumbed to the pressure" is conjecture and opinion, is it not? Not to be argumentative here, but I think that blaming "front runner pressure" on the players for the 5-1 nose dive is a bit of a fishing expedition. The Bills were either outplayed and/or out coached by San Fran, Cleveland, Miami and NY. Neither case is in Jauron's favor. And the AFC East was won by My Yami's rookie HC Tony Sparano. I doubt you'll ever hear "Dick Jauron" and "AFC East Champion Buffalo Bills" in the same sentence. OTOH, if that does happen, I will be the first to publicly admit that I was wrong. Gladly.
  12. There isn't any lunacy here. What we've got is a head coach who has had one (1) winning season in 8 years, had an average of 7-9 over his 5 year career in Chicago and continued to produce 3 more consecutive 7-9 clunkers in Buffalo. Feel free to correct me if any of these facts are wrong. Let's call his record consistently sub-mediocre. The "won in spite of him" is an opinion shared by many. Agree or not as you so choose. Watching the last 8 games of the season was mostly a painful and frustrating experience. Coaches coached badly and players played badly. Hard to watch. Hard to explain. Hard to justify. When Mr. Jauron coaches this team into the playoffs, I reserve the right to reassess my opinion of him. Not until.
  13. And the 2nd time they played the Pats, they got whomped 48-28. BFD.
  14. How about Dickie the J and anyone.
  15. Absolutely no one was more in sync and had more control of this team than Kelly. This team was SO confident and that confidence just poured out of every player, not forgetting Marv. God.....how I long for those days.....sigh.....
  16. This so-called coaching staff first has to demonstrate the ability to put together consistent, well coached games and the players have to demonstrate the ability to execute. Following that, I will be duly excited. The potential is there, now lets see both parties deliver.
  17. Well....the Bills current so-called coaching staff has never been known to be geniuses on or off the field. If Buffalo ran the no huddle in game 1, by game 2 that would have analyzed 350 times by the opponent and well prepared for. The Bills coaching triumvirate would be better served by putting together solid game plans, adopting something called "flexibility" and managing the game clock efficiently rather than getting all caught up in trying to "surprise" the opponent.

  19. Maybe one day, he'll be speaking from a prison cell, like Cecil Collins, Mercury Morris, Irving Spikes, Sammy Smith and oh Lordy....the list goes on and on........

  21. Betting lines, for one. And lest you think I jest, it is a very big business, worldwide.
  22. But it is a starting point. Just like businesses calculate their projected earnings/losses. All kinds of things happen that can change the outcome, but it is a starting point.
  23. Like refined passers Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch, for example. Look, you are more than entitled to your opinion. Lets wait and see how this pans out. Okay?
  24. ....and pure passers Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch and David Carr and noodle-armed Joe Montana and 6th round draft choice Tom Brady and blah de blah blah blah. Those "scouts" and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee, no tip.
