I think the Palin choice started off as a good conceptual idea, but ended up with horrible execution (not unlike a DJ play involving JP). It almost seemed the Republicans were attempting to go after the female vote that was left feeling stranded after Obama defeated Hillary as well as ultra conservatives who felt McCain was too moderate. But Palin didn't seem to connect with the female voters as much as the Republicans had hoped. MTCW....right idea, wrong person.

That is going to depend on A) whether the OL can give TE the time to throw and B) Snert's game plan and C) TE making quick decisions on checkdowns. If TE is going to be under a lot of pressure and has to get the ball out in a hurry, defenses ought to smother TO right out of the box which would tend to neutralize him. If the OL can give TE 3+ seconds, I think TO will get a boat load of catches this season. Depending on how Snert plays this, TO may get the majority of the short to mid range passes while Evans will be set up for the deep ball. I think by the 3rd game, we should know the drill. If th OL holds up, this really could be interesting.

So, why can't the Bills make the playoffs?

And here we have the perfect example of "bad attitude". -

I will tell you exactly why they haven't. Look at that 2 minute clip on youtube when the Bills came from behind and beat Miami in 1989 (I hope I got the year right). Watch that two minutes of film. Watch Kelly. Watch Reed. Watch Levy. Watch Marchibroda (I hope I got that right too). There was something in that team and those people that hasn't been seen since. Call it what you want.....intensity, drive, never-say-die, refuse to lose. There is nothing remotely like that attitude on this team. Not counting the bona fide superstars, the difference between the capabilities of the majority of the players is not all that great. It's that "refuse to lose" attitude and it is MIA on this team, from the top down. I know I will get a lot of rebuttal posts and so be it. Buffalo hasn't fielded the most capable players and while that is true, it's not the whole story. The attitude, the fire, the intensity and the will to win hasn't been in this team for many years, from the coaches down to the players. Someone needs to step up and light the fuse. Attitude is like a fire in a Kleenex factory. For God's sake, someone light the goddam FIRE. -

Bills Make the Playoffs in 2009
DrFishfinder replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to mention a brutal schedule. -
I thought it was set up that way to give equal (or "more equal") weight to largely unpopulated states vs heavily populated states, for elections back in the day. Regardless, it seems to have largely outlived whatever usefulness it had, such as: If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle: Florida Law

"Players playing hard for Dick Jauron"
DrFishfinder replied to DrFishfinder's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well....if someone makes that statement, then they ought to some sort of basis for that. I'm open to feedback. -
When they first came out, some sales person in a Sharper Image store fired one up, yapping all the while about how amazing it was. He put it on the floor, it disappeared under a desk and never came back out. About 10 of us laughed our butts off. Hopefully, they've gotten better, but after that.........nah.

I've read a number of posts that contain words to the effect of, "The players play hard for Dick Jauron". Can those of you who believe that provide specific proof or examples to back that up? I would be interested to see some tangible information.

The more that each day passes..............

Since there isn't a damn thing you, or anyone else here can do about it, do the same thing you've been doing since you became a Bills fan. Support the good guys in scarlet, white and blue, scream your brains out at the TV (or at the game if you're lucky enough to be at The Ralph) and hang in there. The only constant is change. The Pats went from perennial whipping boys to dominating the NFL. The Bills went from being a pathetic joke to winning the AFC 4 YEARS IN A ROW. If that can be accomplished once, it can be accomplished again. TO may just turn out to be the match that lights the fuse. Maybin may become a frigging Sack Monster. Edwards, TO and Evans may be the next Kelly, Reed and Lofton. Lynch may be the next Thurman Thomas. I've done my share of bashing the triumvirate and some players and reserve the right to continue to do so. I do it because I care. If the Bills fail to win the superbowl and I'm not bitching about something, it is because I no longer care. But I do. Hope springs eternal. -
This team, in its current state, has a great deal to bash. Its not realistic to expect the fans to be all positive about this underachieving group and its perennial 7-9 head coach. When the Bills at least crack the playoffs, you'll see more positive posts. Not until. The negativity comes with the territory. The only way to erase that is to win. Just ask the Patriot fans.

If you've got the jing, I'd do 'em all. The problem with putting just one tube in is that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference with respect to a matched set. Ears can play funny tricks on you. They can convince you that something sounds good until you hear what REALLY GOOD sounds like. Like Laney amps!

How Much Better will the Bills Be in 2009 ?
DrFishfinder replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you 100% regarding the coaching. The triumvirate needs to improve and STAY improved. If TE goes down with injuries, and that is at least a 50/50 shot, we'll see Fitz and I'm not sure he can step in and fire on all cylinders. Without Lynch the first three games, we may not get off to a good start. Fewell's defensive schemes had better stop letting teams run off 7-9 minute drives in the 4th quarter. That has GOT to stop. Fewell has to find a way to get pressure on opposing QB's. They had way too much time in the 2nd half of the season last year. If TE can stay healthy and play like he did the 1st 6 games last season, and if TO can make the impact he was brought here to make and the running game clicks, then the offense can start to look more like the K-Gun and less like K-Y. That, in and of itself, will help out the defense and give this team some badly needed confidence. But it all starts, or ends, with the coaching. -
I hear ya. I'm really hoping (against hope) that this season starts out like last season, but carries through the 2nd half this time. Otherwise, the fans with torches & pitchforks will be marching on OBD by game 10. Either way, let's get this party started!

We hit 100 in Fort Lauderdale a few days ago. Actually it got to 101, but it plummeted back to 100 too fast to count. -
Not sure NY will be that good. Other than that I think you're pretty close. Buffalo's pass blocking may surprise us all and be better than expected this year. I'm more worried that the coaching triumvirate from last year is still here this year.

For basic companionship, I'd go GR. For loyalty & protection, I'd go domestic GS. For protection primarily, I'd go GS from Germany. That being said, I would recommend you go to the local animal shelter and pay a visit. You just may find a dog that adopts you.

US to apologise for African slavery

I have always thought it was pointless to apologize for something you had nothing to do with. Should I apologize for my great grandfather punching your great grandfather? Empty.
