  16. Perhaps, but I think it is probably safe to say that their educational experience is in ruins. This will color their entire undergraduate experience for the rest of their lives. You can't get that back. Of course it isn't as bad as having your testicles dipped in boiling oil, but it is still not a desirable experience.
  17. Maybe Gary, Indiana?
  18. It is sports talk radio. Don't believe for a moment that they believe half the things they say, they are trying to touch nerves to create a reaction. Which seems to be going swimmingly.
  19. We are all affected by the issue in one way or another. I have done my share of volunteer work with migrant farm workers not far from where I live, but they are seasonal and do little to strain public services. If they were trying to get the Federal Government to take notice - that was an interesting strategy. Don't get my position wrong, I do think the federal government has been long negligent in its immigration policy/ enforcement. But a lot of this needs to start at the state and Federal level. The federal government for the most part has tacitly approved illegal immigration. (which I think has been very shortsighted). But making poor laws is not a very good remedy.
  20. Interesting theory. Do you believe that two men, in this case, the DA and Coach can father the same baby? This should be turned into the next "My Two Dads"
  21. Yes. Need the foot rail. Otherwise it is just a counter.
  22. Really? When did local governments start creating laws to create probable cause conditions for tests of citizenship? So how do local merchants create a citizenship test to avoid the fines for selling services to illegal immigrants? And how does a municipality create non-discriminatory tests for merchants? This law is so wonderfully bad, for so many reasons, it boggles the mind.
  23. Those red die card markers floating in the English surf would pretty much strike Brighton by the Sea as a desirable tourist destination.
  24. A town stupid enough to pass that act is probably dumb enough to go bankrupt defending it. But the bankruptcy thing is no different than what Industrial companies, and Walmarts do to towns all over america. They have the deeper pockets for litigation. The ACLU is probably sponsoring the lawsuit, but usually their are multiple plaintiffs and aggrieved parties to the suit. They are picking the ones that have what they believe, clear constitutional grounds to be overturned. Now if Hazleton passed their law - it is likely that 20 other municipalities have passed something like it, because that is usually what town boards do. Though it is likely that somebody other than the mayor of Hazleton wrote this law - if it is dumb and unconstitutional - they are dumb asses twice over for passing the thing over the advice of their city attorney.
