FWIW I think SDS had it right as far as the advice went. Some honest opinions that were trying to cut through the noise. It's often hard to do that and spare feelings at the same time. There are plenty. Many of these people believe in letting markets prevail (free markets aren't conservative in the social or religious sense at all, by the way, as these people tend to place individual rights and the marketplace over values - which was original meaning of liberal).

Because we are comparing Palin and Biden...I think if you were to ask either of them something as random as these 5 topics.... 1. The post cold war evolution of the Baltic States 2. How the Federal Reserve works 3. Demographics of the Aging population 4. Executive Privelege 5. American Agriculture and Tariffs I think you would find that Biden could speak for 90 minutes (easily) on each and be 5% wrong. I think you would find that Palin could speak for 5 minutes and be 90% wrong. The danger with Biden is he is assured enough to think he knows even the 5%. The danger with Palin is that she wouldn't know enough to spot a flaw in logic from any adviser on any of those topics.

I want Governors and Presidents to understand the constitution better than me. That's my bias. Biden for all his loquaciousness and my personal distaste for him....was elected Judiciary Chair and Foreign Relation Chair by his peers in the Senate. Seniority plays a role there, but still.......and he did practice after Syracuse Law and passed the Delaware bar. Palin however did do very well at Idaho Panhandle Community College and the other three JuCo's she attended.
