Trump is under no obligation to forewarn Congress of an upcoming military action, any more than Obama was required to forewarn Congress of his hundreds of drone strikes.

Depends on the provocation, but in the situation you describe, I would have torn the guy apart. "Getting in to a fight" and "protecting my wife" are not the same thing.

No, I didn't change my mind. I've always been about the rule of law over the rule of men. And we're still not seeing it. My biggest complaint is still what it's always been: just because you don't like the person in office, it doesn't give you the right to make it up as you go along. The district court does not get to overturn the laws and regulations that keep grand jury deliberations secret. Any more than Trump gets to decide that permanent legal residents of the US can be banned from legal entry.
