Global warming err Climate change HOAX

99.746% accurate. -
It was more because volunteers could specify what service, and what specialty, they could go in to, which by 1943 was creating an unmanageable imbalance in manpower allocation. Not everyone could join the Marines. Drafting allowed a more efficient allocation of personnel.

Don't worry about it. Soon enough, they'll all jump back on the Giants bandwagon where they belong. -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
DC Tom replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Important point here... One of the easiest ways to tell you're being conned is artificial precision. People are more likely to believe precise statements than vague ones, so when lying, be precise. Conversely, if someone's being precise to you, question it, particularly if it's a future prediction or a statistical statement. That was really the point of this joke. When you see artificial precision, suspect nonsense. -
Yes, they are overrated. The "Greatest Generation" is mostly a fairy tale created by Tom Brokaw, Stephen Ambrose, and Tom Hanks. In truth, they weren't appreciably better or worse than generations past or since, except millennials (who are pussies.)

I thought it was the whip's job. Speaker sets the agenda, Majority and Minority whips berate the party members into voting. -
Holy *****, you managed to get that backwards.

Happy 61st Birthday to some guy named Beerball
DC Tom replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Little known fact: the original beerball was created in 1976 in Utica. So...happy 44th birthday! -
Last time someone told me something was "unacceptable," my response was something like "Life's full of ***** little disappointments. Accept it and get out, I'm busy."

"***** Catholicism. I'm following that religion now!" "Just another Friday night at the convent."

This was such an obvious attempt, it's actually pathetic. If you really want to catch people, you have to do something like this guy did on reddit. -
The Situation With Iran Goes Hot - Shots Fired

Wags a finger at the President. Seriously, it's toothless. -
I think it would still be a "giant meteor of death" game. Is Belichick still coaching the Pats? Then it's definitely a "giant meteor of death" game.

So...right?

Things that have gotten you in hot water at work
DC Tom replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't think I've ever gotten in trouble at work. I did threaten to throw a manager out an eighth-floor window once...but all that happened is I was told to wait my turn in line. Gotten other people fired, though. Had an absentee manager who showed up for work drunk one morning after his golf outing and tried to take a swing at me in front of the whole company. That was fun. -

"The plane wasn't shot down" is Iran's "Epstein didn't kill himself." -
It's shocking, isn't it?

You're an idiot.

I bought one of those, because I genuinely thought MD would be the first state to ban power mowers. As it is, in my city, in the summer, there's only specific times we're allowed to run a gas lawn mower. I think it's from 7-9am and 8-11 pm or some *****.
